Be afraid of your chair, Yes your chair.

Glad I got a crummy plastic chair at home :p . On the other hand, the one at the office is a different story altogether... .

Scirwode

*goes off to find a non-hydrolic stool* I like my bits and pieces where they are thanks.

Actually, the hydrolic (liquid filled) type are the safe ones, it's the pnumatic (gas filled) ones that can be dangerous.

Now that I've had some time to think it over I wouldn't be too worried since this is incredibly fake. First there is no way there's enough pressure in those cylinders to explode like that. They won't even raise the chair if a person is sitting on it. Second the damage is obviously not caused by the cylinder exploding, someone just cut the fabric and ripped out the padding. There is no damage at all to the bottom of the chair. Finally I don't know if anyone mentioned it or not, but there's not a drop of blood anywhere. Oh and the story conveniently takes place in China, making it very difficult to get any actual facts.

So relax, this is nothing more than Snopes fodder. ;)

Tor is a network of virtual tunnels that allows people and groups to improve their privacy and security on the Internet. The Tor software protects you by bouncing your communications around a distributed network of relays run by volunteers all around the world: it prevents somebody from watching your Internet connection and learning what sites you visit, it prevents the sites you visit from learning your physical location, and it lets you access sites which are blocked. The Tor Browser Bundle lets you use Tor on Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux without needing to install any software. It can run off a USB flash drive, comes with a pre-configured web browser to protect your anonymity, and is self-contained.
