theres not enough pressure to lift someone, but enough to blow through the chair material?

either way, it might be simpler just to not sit cirrectly, lean on a cheek and slide a bit to one side, that way it doesnt have a clear path to your insides, and will hit the cheek/bones in there(pretty sure theres bones inthere)

Hopefully it is fake. I don't know much about hydraulic or pneumatic systems but this seems too much of an explosion for a gas cylinder like the one those chairs are carrying.

Now that I've had some time to think it over I wouldn't be too worried since this is incredibly fake. First there is no way there's enough pressure in those cylinders to explode like that. They won't even raise the chair if a person is sitting on it. Second the damage is obviously not caused by the cylinder exploding, someone just cut the fabric and ripped out the padding. There is no damage at all to the bottom of the chair. Finally I don't know if anyone mentioned it or not, but there's not a drop of blood anywhere. Oh and the story conveniently takes place in China, making it very difficult to get any actual facts.

So relax, this is nothing more than Snopes fodder. ;)

It took over an hour to get him to a hospital? Something doesn't seem right there. When I got hit by a car on my bike and wasn't even hurt at all, an ambulance was there within 5 minutes...

Yes? So? Your thoughts don't concern me. Read MY post again. I have actually seen these things rupture, in person. The guy wasn't hurt luckily, but his chair was a mess.

I also think it could be fake. In the first picture, you can see the plastic cover that goes over the cylinder. Shouldn't it be blasted to bits?

If it is real though... ouch.
