Videos show them off better, train map looks bad ass.

First map looks beautiful. love the design. :D Second map is going to be awesome. Cant wait to get them.

I really hope they patch the Air Support. I think only 4 is most I have killed with it. 10 is almost impossible. I just need that badge for the trophy.

Was there ever any fix or word on the problem with certain surround sets? I never experienced the game in 6.1 because the game decided to use my sub. as a speaker, which was unbearable and made the thing sound like it was going to explode - I tried almost every possible setting on the PS3 and on the set itself, despite not liking the game I did want to experience the game in surround. I'm guessing it's due to the game being 7.1 and instead of just shutting out the last speaker channel it passed it through the last available channel, my sub

Must just be a Killzone thing, there are a lot of 7.1 games on PS3, and I have a 6.1 system as well, never noticed that before on anything else.

Good things cost money.

*Inserts comment about how some developers charge for every single map pack they release* :x

:p

Maps look good to me for free content, plus at least it'll boost the whole community to get things rolling again, rather than segregate the community with the first bit of DLC splitting up people between those who buy it and those who don't.

That's why I think free maps are excellent ways to keep the lifespan of your game going - The "peasants" get one or two new maps every so often to get them back into the game, and those willing to spend get more.

Good things cost money.

True but the vast majority of DLC on both platforms suck and is often either fluff or stuff they took out of the game to resell us later. And MS prevents Valve from delivering free content. And we won't mention that a micro-transaction is not $8. Any other useless comments?

Wow, you just can't post without flamebaiting can you? Reconsider your own posts utility to this forum, then maybe I'll reply to you again.

You are right, that was a little harsh, apologies. But insinuating that if DLC cost money it must be because it's "good" is wishful thinking. The only DLC I don't regret paying for this generation is the COD4 map pack and the Crackdown add-ons. The rest has mostly been fluff, exempting the GTAIV content, although that transcends the standard DLC model.

What you implied in the first place was that you can't get any free DLC in Live, which is completely false. There's a lot of free crap there, but also some good freebies. Even the MP maps of Gears were free after a few months on the market.

Now about the K2 maps, I see them as a way to keep the momentum going. It's not selling bad, but it isn't a sales champion either.

Free maps will keep people playing, and invite others to join in. It's the logical step atm.

That's what all map packs do, keep people playing and invite people back who have left.

Some people charge to do that, some people don't. Some people charge for every damn map pack, others balance it better. The minute you charge for a map pack you segregate the community, if you're doing that with every single pack, good luck getting regular games on some of those maps. Not to mention games with matchmaking only and no server browsing can make that even harder.

Game has plenty of people playing, I was on for a few hours yesterday.

Whatever reasons you want to try and put the decision behind, it was plain and simply a nice move from Guerilla in a climate where if you aren't called Valve or Criterion or Epic (At least UT3 guys) your fans pretty much need to pay for everything substantial outside of game fixes/maybe a new mode.

When it's your first DLC, and it's coming this quick, making it free is a nice loyalty reward to anyone who's clearly bought the game at launch/at least bought it early (within the first few months).

Probably :(

lol I was on a FF server earlier and didn't realize, got a nice 3 kill combo... from my own team  (Damn grenades!)

Quite enjoying things again, ranked up a bit. The last patch definitely tweaked the controls a little, I can aim better. Still, it's difficult for me.

I gotta say the sniper rifle pwns though, most satisfying sniper rifle I've used in an online shooter.

edit: LOL my average weapon accuracy is like 22.83%

Yep the sniper is awesome. I really don't like sniper rifle on FPS, rarely use them but I like this one.

Mine is 25.56%

Just a heads up but Sony have shot down the rumours of the DLC being free.

Segregation after all it seems.

**** paying for any maps!

I was straight onto the blog to see if they had announced something, still says Price: TBA.

The comment about being "shot down" relates to the idea of playable avatars of the blog staff. Doesn't matter anyway it's obviously going to cost something now.... *sigh*

Whoever that site was that announced it for free can GTFO.

Not surprising, there is about another 200 games to do Co-Op nowadays anyway.

I believe we'll see it in Killzone 3 however, once the engine has another "x" amount of time in development and has matured further. Local Co-Op this time around was out of the question, Online Co-Op the only possibility but to be frank if it was clear local was going to be a nightmare it's no surprise they just ditched the idea of it all together and focussed on polishing the hell out of the engine for release.

Local co-op could have been achieved with a system link system no doubt, there is many ways to implement it or they could have reduced the graphics. Function before aesthetics  Rules of the trade (Y) :p

Not every game needs to try and excel in every single area. Some do well just focussing on certain areas and polishing the hell out of them.

KZ2 went for the technical side and graphics, many other games go for functionality like Halo 3/Haze allowing 4 player co-op, but not exactly being the most jaw dropping looking games around.

Different implementations to suit various gamers.

Nothing wrong with having one FPS that goes balls out on graphics and technicalities if another 20 can go balls out on co-op functionality. Like I said, as the engine matures expect more from it, it was built from the ground up for KZ2, it clearly has places to go still.

    • I have a older F4-210 NAS, it is pretty basic, the CPU is not the fastest by a long way and only 1GB of ram, but it works fine. I don't understand the need for A.I in a NAS. It seems like A.i is being shoved into everything, if we like it or not. i will stick to my old Terramsater NAS, thankfully the OS is not being updated. Also, got myself a small NAs built using a Raspberry Pi 5. iy usesd less energy, so stays on all the time. As for the unit above, if it is as reliable as my old Terramaster Nas, then it will be a good unit.
    • Gemini in Google Sheets can now help you debug and fix formula errors by David Uzondu Google has started rolling out an update to Gemini in Google Sheets that allows the AI to diagnose and fix formula errors in one click, as long as your Workspace admin has Gemini for Workspace in Sheets turned on. According to Google, the new feature can handle pretty much everything from basic arithmetic to very complex calculations. This ability to debug formula errors comes about two years after Google introduced basic formula generation with Gemini in Sheets. To create a formula with Gemini in Sheets, you open a spreadsheet on your computer and click Ask Gemini in the top right corner. You can also enter an equals sign in any cell and use a shortcut like Ctrl + Alt + G on Windows and Chrome OS, or Command + Ctrl + G on macOS. Once you open the side panel, you write a natural language prompt using your sheet references. For example, you can ask Gemini to divide goals by games, or to find cell C1 in range D:G. If for some reason, the formula Gemini generated doesn't work, or maybe you wrote the formula yourself, you can troubleshoot the issue directly inside the grid. When a cell shows an error message, you hover over it and click "Fix". This action opens the side panel where Gemini analyzes the data structure and automatically applies the fixes when they are ready. You can cancel the process at any time by clicking stop in the side panel. Image via Google Google has been pushing its Gemini integration in Google Sheets for a while now, steadily moving AI features from side panels directly into user spreadsheets. Last year, the Mountain View giant shipped an =AI() Function in Sheets that allowed users to run translation and text generation directly inside cells instead of using the side panel interface. Earlier this year, the company announced that Gemini in Sheets had reached near-human expert performance, achieving a 70.48% success rate on the SpreadsheetBench dataset.
    • I get what you are saying, If i go onto the Instagram site, it says log in with Facebook, but they are not allowed to link my account with Instagram until I do that. Maybe in the U.S, they can link them, but Privacy is not a thing in the U.S. the way things are going,l won;t be any better in the U.K.

    • Exactly, this is just the beginning. I hope that by that time, our inept politicians devise something like a Universal Basic Income, because unemployment and poverty rates will skyrocket otherwise. And believe me, robots that perform physical work aren't a matter of IF, but WHEN. No career is truly safe from AI/robots, it's just a matter of time.
