So here's a new thread where you can list all the bugs found in 7106, the bugs finally fixed in 7106 and other changes you find noteworthy :)

Windows Colour Picker bug - not fixed

You aren't able to enter more than two digits in the text boxes for Hue/Sat/Lum or R/G/B. This has not been fixed, same bug as already in 7068.

Windows Sat bug - partially fixed

Aero graphics score went up from 5.9 to 6.8, but still not the full 7.9.

Drive letter assignment change

Win7 7106 kept the drive letters as they are in my other Win7 install, rather than jumbling them around and making itself C:.

Some nice imagery, provided by me

1. Desktop w/ start menu - new Tiananmen wp by me, nice red colour, and I changed the user pic to Confucius

2. System Properties

3. WinSat results

Windows Colour Picker bug - fixed in 7106

You weren't able to enter more than two digits in the text boxes. This has been fixed.

Drive letter assignment change

1.) Never had it not work.

2.) Maybe your GPU isn't 7.9 worthy.

3.) It'll keep it if you install Windows within Windows. If it's boot into WinPE it'll C:\ it.

2.) Maybe your GPU isn't 7.9 worthy.

A 4870? Yeah right

You get a 7.9 in Aero Graphics with a *lot* less already.

In all builds until 7057 it properly displayed 7.9 there, but then WinSat went on the fritz, and it nosedived to 5.9 and stayed there. 7106 has it partially recover to 6.8, but not fully.

If a 4870 gets 7.9, what do you expect the 4870x2 and the gtx 295 to get? :s

It's just Aero Graphics, that is how well the desktop is rendered. Getting a 7.9 is realtively easy there, as long as you don't have some onboard vga crap.

Don't confuse it with the one below, Game Graphics. A 4870 gets 6.8 there (consistently), and a 4870x2 will get more there.

Windows Explorer folder tree bug: partially fixed

When the folder tree on the left is long enough (scrollbar appears) and you click on the little white triangle to the left of a folder to expand it, that folder jumps to the bottom of the folder tree.

This doesn't happen with any folder anymore, but it still happens.

Update:

Windows Colour Picker bug - not fixed

You aren't able to enter more than two digits in the text boxes for Hue/Sat/Lum or R/G/B. This has not been fixed, same bug as already in 7068.

I've tried the Windows Colour Picker again today and found the same bug as already in 7068. I've tried it in several applications which make use of it, and also in Windows' own Personalisation. All exposed the same erratic behaviour

I've then rebooted, and the bug still persists in *all* applications that make use of the Windows colour picker, including Windows' own Personalisation :x

While a few applications offer Colour Pickers of their own, most don't, so it's very annoying that it's broken

I can't reproduce your color dialog bug in any version of Windows 7. What exactly do you mean it won't let you enter more than two digits?

The bug appeared in 7068 and is still there in 7106.

For example, right-click on Desktop > Personalise, and from there Window Colour > Advanced. Click on a colour, then select "Other" from the colour drop down.

Now you have the Windows Colour Picker. Take a look at the six text boxes in the lower right corner. Pick one (e.g. "Hue"), empty it, then try to type a three-digit number in it (e.g. 111). You can't enter more than two digits, then it blocks.

Same goes for any applications that use the Windows Colour Picker.

No

Then install 7106 x64, and you'll see what I mean.

but I can't reproduce it in 7068. Does it happen with a default install with nothing extra installed?

In 7068, I first noticed the bug when I tried using the Colour Picker from within an application. I then found that it was broken in all other apps that used it as well. Didn't try Windows Personalise though.

    • WordArt was cool. We now have color fonts as a substitute although Word only supports COLRv0 and COLRv1 (Fraud OS 11 only). The OpenType SVG color font format needs to be supported by Office. Adobe's apps support it
