Windows 7 Build 7106

Recommended Posts

That's interesting! I would now download 7106 but am waiting for the RC build now. 7077 x64 is working and I'm leaving it at that.

Thanks for testing :)

No problem :)

It's not that long until RC anymore. If the rumours are to be believed, it's 5th for partners and, according to that chatlog, 15th for public release - but the partner release will probably already be leaked when it comes out.

My question would be is the Public RC 7100 or whatever build it will be, be more stable then 7106 RTM Branch, 7106 Build looks like it's a higher and better build but the question is, if it will be better then Public RC build. As i have high doubts Public RC will be so much better condition then 7106.

Looks like everybody else reads other comments and research to understand how the build process works. But Mr. Lord Baal likes to ignore all the available info. Thus this make us lazy to explain something, because the guy is always aggressive and ironic. Let it be, then. My grampa behaves the same way he does. :p

Here's some help that he'll probably say is BS, because some like big numbers and make them logical.

The why does a Themelda app work in 7106?

"avaiable mis-information" would be more fitting, at it's nothing but half-assed assumptions. Ignoring it is the best you can do

I prefer to use logic and common sense.

My grampa behaves the same way he does. :p

Your grandpa must be a very wise man then :p

Give him my greetings :mobile:

Let me answer that for him: "Because it's older! ... oh, wait... :o damn  "

That doesn't mean it's newer. Lots of software that used to work in older builds don't work anymore. Some are working in other builds. The builds in different branches are clearly different, but we don't know yet what the differences are. Maybe MS added features only to the pre-RTM branches a.k.a 710x, but they're not yet enabled.

They have different branches for winmain and RC because the process of developing features work in parallel mode, then are added to the final product. What the data says is that the RC will not be based on the 710x branches.

Ah, so you finally realised that and are not claiming anymore that winmain has the same code as winrc, just a few days older.

That's already nice, for starters.

I already pointed out a few days ago that they have different branches and such. Good to see you finally picked it up

Actually that was pretty obvious since the beginning of the branch split up. But the point is that those pre-RTM branches are rumored to contain debug code. But unless someone with a true technical knowledge can prove a yes or no, we only hang out here making ass-umptions as you like to call it. And I mean everyone! :)

Yes, it's just a rumour. So let's better not get into a discussion about whether they contain debug code or not :)

Finally got around to try the Anime PC Meter gadget on 7106, which had display errors on 7068 and caused an abnormally high cpu load.

Sadly, it's still the same :(

At least that's the only gadget that's not working properly (same as in 7068).

Doesn't work in 7100

7100 and 7106 are two different build trunks. 7100 is winrc, while 7106 is winmain.

Thus it's possible that there are fixes and changes in 7106 which aren't in 7100 (and the other way round, as well).
