[Cancelled] Heroes Season 4 (Volume 5 : Redemption)

No, future peter had absorbed the power from linderman. Just like present peter did. Only he never knew he had it. I understand that was the fake linderman Nathan was seeing.

No. The fake linderman was maury, that was explained later on. And I dont recall present peter EVER meeting linderman. Even the "heroes wiki" says that nathan "somehow" came back to life. There really is no explanation. The explanation back then was that linderman was in the room, but then linderman turned out to be fake, so there was no healing power involved.

So as most of you should know by now, the actor leaving show is Adrian Pasdar and what some media outlets called a "major death" has been confirmed as the final demise of Nathan Petrelli.

Yes, once again not really a death since Nathan was dead already, but it seems like there will finally be a battle between not only Sylar and Nathan and Sylar and Matt but Peter and Sylar (as Nathan). At the end of everything apparently Sylar takes over the body and that is the end of Nathan.

I am not sure why this had to take place at all but hopefully this will help strengthen Peter's character.

I know they are promising an "epic" battle again, but do not get too hyped as we know NBC is also dealing with budget cuts. Hopefully we get some good action and the battle ends up playing out well on screen.

Thanks to Knox Kramer and SickofSylar for the heads up about this article from SciFi Wire that provides us with details about these two battles via producer Adam Armus:

Executive producer Adam Armus danced around the subject during a recent interview. After he spilled the beans, he swore me to secrecy, and I promised not to reveal who was going to die until the cat was let out of the bag. Well, the cat clawed her way out of that bag, and it's now been reported in several outlets that Adrian Pasdar is the unlucky guy and that his character, Nathan Petrelli, will bite the dust before the year's end. E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos also reported that Pasdar learned about his character's exit not from a phone call, but from a script.

"We all know that Nathan Petrelli last year was killed, and his mind was put into Sylar's body and shape-shifted into Nathan," said Armus. "We made some commitments last year, and we've committed that there is going to be an epic battle between two characters and who's going to win and who's going to lose. That's something we've been planning all this year. So we know that someone has to lose."

"This whole Sylar-in-one-body-and-his-mind-in-another with Matt Parkman, all that's going to come to a head, because ultimately Sylar is going to win. He's ultimately going to get out of Matt Parkman's head and get back into his body," said Armus. Which would mean it's not looking good for Nathan. Somehow, even on a show called Heroes, Nathan's flying ability probably won't be a lot of help to him if he doesn't have a body.

"Once Nathan and Sylar come back together, there is a battle for the life of that body. Who is going to be in control? And whoever loses is the one that dies," said Armus. "It's the knock-down-drag-out 'Who's going to win this body?', and it's going to be between Peter and Nathan/Sylar. And Peter's going to be fighting for his brother." And obviously not winning.

I called it. It's a no brainer.

Who is more worthy to the audience? This current storyline can't stick around forever and the choice had to be made. The fact that they are going to use it to propel conflict is nice, I just hope it isn't as much of letdown as the first season.

They show peter and nathan both standing around linderman in the episode where they show their parents wedding anniversary. It's a flash back episode. :)

Even if he didn't get it from Linderman he, future peter, could've picked it up from someone else.

the good thing to come from it is...the battle between Peter vs Sylar/Nathan is going to be epic and really hope its not a look through keyhole again because that cheap cop out **** right there!

Nah I dont buy that either. Future peter look was like "OMG WTF you're alive !!! good that means I didnt actually kill you, yet I still got what I wanted". I think it was intended for future peter to be surprised at nathan coming back to life. And we've never seen an 'be on the same room as someone, get healed' power.

That episode made no sense lol.. they seem to be contradicting themselves with all this time travel business. I kept getting confused, which Hiro is which, and what are we seeing now? What time period? lol

I can't say I'm surprised by the rumors that Heroes won't be getting renewed for a fifth season.

We don't need to see Future Peter be in a room with someone. You just have to accept the fact that Future Peter has had more experience than Past Peter, which the scar represents and that meant more run-ins with people with powers.

He could be surprised that he has changed the future, which turns out didn't change for the best at all.

Just read on YouTube so not sure if this is accurate or not, but some guy states:

"peter will get his abilites back its already been confirmed by Tim and the heroes cast, will be interesting how the rest plays out." and then "he loses his ability then gets first ability back where he can hold onto many."

Any truth to this? If so then :woot:

not confirmed by Tim at all, he confirmed a battle between Peter and Sylar but that's all and the death of Nathan in the process

Actually you are all wrong about peter getting the power from linderman that heals nathan. It was actually the same power that hiro's mother has. The kiss of life power. He got that power from her because you notice nathan doesnt come back alive until he kisses nathan's forehead.

Didn't Peter save Nathan by Claire's power? I thought he just used his/claire blood to save him, since he had her power during that time. But Peter never met linderman, not while he was alive. Linderman was dead long before peter saw the fake one. And he never met Hiro's mother either. The safest bet is to use the power we know he had, which was claires blood.

Dude, the people of the company easily interacted with one another. I am pretty sure peter met linderman because there is a seen that has it. Also with all the time traveling that future peter did its very possible he picked that power up from her.

There was no blood transfusion, which makes the healing all the more confusing.

Dude, you can't assume so many things.

The problem is people expect the writters to think of everything. Yes there are going to be huge plot holes. There pretty much always is when its this kind of show. For instance why didnt peter just teleport the healer kid and noah directly to hiro instead of just taking his power? That would have gotten them all out of that lench mob mess that they delt with. See thats a plot hole, I dont question it, I just move on, which is what most of you need to do.

That's from when Sylar is Nathan and is president and leads into this...

basically the future that never happened

Thats right... damn the second season. lol.

I still think the safest bet is that peter used his claire blood on nathan. To assume he had more healing powers on top of his invincible blood, would be even more overkill to his already overkill of powers. At least that's how I see it. We never knew of any other healers besides 2 that died way before Peter manifested his powers. Well, 1 way before his powers came up, and Linderman died before he even knew who Linderman really was. I doubt he got lindermans powers while still a kid... I just think they would have hinted to that more if it was true.

    • Researchers claim Microsoft's quantum breakthrough is flawed by basic Python errors by Karthik Mudaliar Microsoft's aggressive roadmap to deliver a commercial quantum supercomputer by 2029 has now hit a bit of a snag, and it's not because of a complex sub-zero dilution refrigerator, but rather because of a few lines of basic Python code. A new critique published in the scientific journal Nature argues that simple software errors effectively manufactured the breakthrough that Microsoft's foundational research claimed back in 2025 into Majorana-based topological qubits. Topological quantum computing, the path that Microsoft chose for its research, relies on creating and controlling "Majorana zero modes." These are exotic quasiparticles that theoretically offer vastly superior error resistance compared to the highly sensitive superconducting qubits currently being championed by rivals like Google and IBM. However, physically proving you have created these particles requires sifting through massive amounts of complex electrical conductance data to isolate a specific "topological gap." Because of the sheer volume of data, physicists rely heavily on custom software pipelines to process the results. This is where the Python scripts come in. Now, according to the critique, Microsoft’s data processing software contained fundamental programming errors that ultimately skewed the published results. By mishandling data arrays or deploying incorrect logic within the Python script, the software supposedly discarded "noisy" or contradictory data. Which is why it only highlighted the specific electrical measurements that supported the topological-gap claim. The researchers behind the critique argued that this makes the findings invalid, suggesting the heralded "quantum leap" was actually a false positive generated by bad code and not a product of groundbreaking physics. However, Microsoft is pushing back hard against these allegations. The Redmond giant has formally rejected the criticism, saying that it's just a minor anomaly rather than a fatal flaw. According to the company, while there may have been a minor oversight in the data parsing scripts, it does not alter the fundamental reality of their physical experiment. Just weeks ago, Microsoft unveiled the Majorana 2 quantum processor, a milestone so significant that the company boldly accelerated its timeline for a commercial quantum supercomputer from 2035 down to 2029. But the new software allegations reopen an old wound. Microsoft's quantum division faced a remarkably similar crisis when a landmark 2018 paper on Majorana particles was famously retracted in 2021 after independent physicists discovered the data had been inappropriately cropped. That historical baggage makes the current Python-related allegations particularly sensitive. If the foundational math and data processing for the 2025 breakthrough are genuinely flawed, the highly anticipated 2029 commercial timeline could easily be delayed or, worse, cancelled.

    • AMD releases hotfix for driver install issues on Windows 10 PCs by Taras Buria Earlier this week, AMD released an important graphics driver update. Version 26.6.2 brought AMD FSR 4.1 support to the previous-gen Radeon lineup, the RX 7000 series, giving users better upscaling tech that was previously locked to the newest GPUs. However, the driver turned out to be a little buggy, with users reporting installation issues on systems still running Windows 10. AMD quickly acknowledged the bug and today released a hotfix to resolve the problem. The AMD 26.6.3 Hotfix update is now available for download from the official website. Given that it is a hotfix release, it has only one change in its release notes: AMD announced the update on its official X account and added that a WHQL driver update with the necessary fixes would be released next week. Meanwhile, users can apply the hotfix or roll back to the previous driver using the official AMD Cleanup Utility. You can download AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.3 Hotfix Preview Driver from the official website here. It is compatible with all currently supported graphics cards and 64-bit Windows 10 and 11. Full release notes are available on the same page.
    • With Microsoft now listening to its core audience and acting upon received feedback, fans can finally expect a much better version of Windows 11 than what was available five years ago. Here is to five more years, Windows 11! I guess we all need a good laugh now and again...
