How often are MS employees upgrading? Do they just stick to the official releases, cause im "almost" getting upgrade burnout...

Depends what department they are working in, obviously the Windows development team will always use the latest builds to make sure that the fixes/features they've implemented work in-conjunction with the rest of the system.

The Office team might not work with the latest builds, but work with the milestone builds instead.

And so on.

Won't it look exactly the same as rc? I thought the rc was feature complete.

You are correct. Too many people kep expecting the contrary though. It purely bug fixes and minor UI tweaks here and there from now on. MS would have to make a major u-turn if we something major like a new feature.

Am I the only one that what's them to finished the icon overhaul they started with Notepad, Control Panel, Paint, etc? I mean it's screaming for it. There are Vista icons there, and they look terrible in comparison to the lovely, sort of "soft blue/white style". And it would be easy to do, and wouldn't effect the code. I freakin' hope they do it. Icing on the cake for me. I will be hugely disappointed if they don't. Aesthetics like this are important to me. XD

O, and +1 for the burnout. I think I first started feeling when 7100 leaked. I was like... 7077 is slick, and I just installed it, and I like it. This is just getting tedious... :p. But I'm still hooked :D.

    • Closed-loop cooling and a custom 800G network protocol let the $7.3B campus run as one AI training machine. Microsoft confirmed June 23, 2026, that its Fairwater campus in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, is fully operational — and the engineering behind it makes the facility something fundamentally different from every data center that came before it. Where conventional cloud infrastructure racks up general-purpose servers and parcels out workloads to each one independently, Fairwater links hundreds of thousands of NVIDIA GB200 Blackwell GPUs into a single, coherent cluster using a two-story building design, 800-gigabit-per-second Ethernet fabric, and a proprietary networking protocol co-developed with OpenAI and NVIDIA. The result, according to Microsoft, is the closest thing to a purpose-built AI supercomputer that any company has ever placed in commercial operation. https://www.techtimes.com/articles/319205/20260627/microsoft-opens-fairwater-wisconsin-ai-campus-runs-one-supercomputer-via-800g-ethernet.htm
