One big change is in the installation of 7137. It gives you the specifics of copying files ( xxx of 216mb) and gathering files 113,404 of 199,244 for instance. No big deal, but a big change.
It did that with me in the upgrade to 7000 from Vista.

....wow...so i geuss 7137 is pretty much the rtm.....I'm...not impressed...

What made you think that the Release Candidtate would not be representative of RTM? If you are not that impressed, buy a Mac.

Well honestly I was expecting some type of visual change sort of like the development of windows vista. It's technically been the same since build 6936. And also sorry i don't only have positive things to say about windows 7 sure it's an improvement but there are things that i'd also like to see and if me saying that is some kind of treason maybe i will get a mac :).

Well, it's a Release Candidate, so of course there won't be big changes anymore besides squishing bugs.

Still interesting to see that they already started working on sp1 with 7138, on a different branch, too (winmain-sp1).

Probably MS will release WIN7 as SP1, like they did to Win2008 server

What sense does that make? The reason they did it with 2008 was to synchronize it with Vista as it is the same OS and shares updates and service packs.

How does that apply to Windows 7?

The reason that they released Windows Server 2008 as SP1, was that it was built on the same core as Vista, which had got SP1 at that time. Win7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 builds on the same core, though no one of them has a SP1 released yet (as they are both in RC stage), thus I don't think they'll release Win7 as SP1.

I don't know, it's just a guess...??

Also they are working in parallel with server 2008 R2, maybe a sync between both?

Anyone know the current status/build of Server 2008 R2?

It's a pretty silly guess. Afaik:

Server 2008 R2 and Win 7 use the same codebase.

Server 2008 and Vista SP1 use the same codebase.

Where are you getting the "new" SP1 from?

They released Win2008 w/ SP1 because it was Vista SP1 with added server functionality, not a separate OS as was the case with Win2003.

Win2008 R2 again isn't Win2008, but Win7 with added server functionality (just like XP 64 wasn't XP, but Win2003 without server functionality).

With Win7 it wouldn't make sense to release it as SP1 right away.

Doesn't anyone remember an article stating that windows 7 sp1 would be released somewhere around the release of the rtm?..

Tor is a network of virtual tunnels that allows people and groups to improve their privacy and security on the Internet. The Tor software protects you by bouncing your communications around a distributed network of relays run by volunteers all around the world: it prevents somebody from watching your Internet connection and learning what sites you visit, it prevents the sites you visit from learning your physical location, and it lets you access sites which are blocked. The Tor Browser Bundle lets you use Tor on Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux without needing to install any software. It can run off a USB flash drive, comes with a pre-configured web browser to protect your anonymity, and is self-contained. • Yes, it was amusing at the time because even then dbrand was well known for stealing the designs of products from other companies. That’s what they do.
