Whether you liked Season Finale, or didn't (I too was very disappointed with it) I think it's safe to say there are still many things still great about this show. Most of which are being indicated by some pictures I've posted above. Which is why I posted them first to remind you in pictures, not words, what's this show about!

I really CAN'T complain that the show is bad as a whole... there are always these DC comic characters showing up on the show. All these Super Heroes are cool and funny! VERY HOT Babes!!! All these DC comic SuperBabes are fanboys/nerds dream come true. And, of course Erica Durance is very good playing Lois Lane! I Love her very much! Erica Durance ROCKS!!!

Now, if you notice, the first picture is Clark with the Superman suit underneath. I don't know if he will do that this season. I hope he goes to train at the FOS a lot this season, and come out closer to being Superman we all know and love!

And, the picture of Lex. I don't know if he will be back this season, but we miss him don't we?

Is Brainic really dead? Probably not.

Now, Season 9 Spoilers

Brian Austin Green (Terminator:SCC, Megan Fox's old BF, 90210's star) is Metallo/John Corben!!! In this version of the story, Metallo's alter ego of John Corben will be a journalist for the Daily Planet.

The Title of Season Premiere is called "Savior."

Casting notices have gone out for "Alia," a "beautiful, sexy femme fatale assassin with mysteriously intimate ties to Clark and Krypton." She's an expert fighter, especially with a throwing star and a sword. They're looking for a martial arts background, and this role will recur.

Another female soldier who is described as "sexy and hot" is "Fiona." She wears a faded military jacket and turns against her leader. Together with another soldier named "Basqat" she imprisons her leader. This role may recur too.

British actor Callum Blue has been cast as Zod

"MASON: Late 20's early 30's. He's a handsome charismatic charmer who savors life. He appreciates good food, loves fast cars and sees beauty in every woman. There isn't a detail in life that eludes his senses. He is a master of seduction... knowing what everyone wants and needs before they do. But don't let his magnetism fool you. There's more than meets the eye. His intelligence can't be matched. He outmaneuvers everyone in his path. Though he longs to find a home, that vulnerability can be twisted --

making him a force to be reckoned with."

- Tess is rushing onto the jet and is surprised by Mason's voice, who asks her if she's "All work and no play?"

- Tess tells Mason that she hoped he would have mastered more than a lexicon of cliches by now. He tells Tess she can stand down, becuase "it's me," and Tess says that "precisely who 'you' are is a little nebulous at the moment." Mason reminds her that that is "exactly the way you like it." He then keeps trying to find ways to try to seduce her.

- It sounds like Tess might "betray" Mason. In a later scene, Tess returns to the Luthor Mansion to find him inside, waiting. He mentions that she "turned on him" but he "survived it," and then works on psychoanalyzing Tess yet again.

- He tells Tess "I trusted you!" and tells her that he was the one shot she had at a fairy tale ending. She pulls a gun on him, and reminds him "You still need me." He realizes she's right.

Second Episode Title will be called "Metallo"

I'm glad they're carrying on. I got into Smallville recently - I started at 4-2 and I've been watching on E4, which showed 5-4 this morning. I've watched the last episode in season 8, and I spent the whole time thinking "How did it get to this point?". I guess a lot can happen in 3 series.

Did I miss a whole lot by not seeing series 1-3?

None of them are coming back....yet.

MB will return for the final few episodes, he's said that several times. Whether season 9 will be it for Smallville will pretty much decide how soon he returns to the show.

JM also said the door was open for him returning as Brainiac. But so far no story has been written (as far as we know) for him in season 9.

As for Kara coming back, who knows.

well i know now that brandon rouths contract expired for any superman sequel, i think tom should have his chance at it once smallville is done! as far as him becoming superman in season 9? i don't see how they can avoid it with metallo & the true zod being the season villains.

Isn't there a huge legal reason for why he has never become Superman or is it just to stretch out the show ?

As for him being given the chance for the movie, yes and no. I really think Smallville is good because it has more freedom and made up parts. They should make a proper Smallville movie series instead of the dead in the water lets remake the same movie over again Superman. Enough teen heart throbs and some good action and you've got a winner much like how on earth is Twilight successful. I think big budget Superman and Smallville films could co-exist.

I probably enjoyed seasons two and three the most. Season one didn't have a lot going on in terms of an ongoing story, but was fun because it introduced the characters and, at that point, everything was new and exciting. One of the best things about the earlier seasons was being able to see the dynamic between Lex and Clark slowly change.
Hopefully Klark has taken acting classes over the summer break. So he doesn't always sound like he is reciting lines.
After eight years, I wouldn't count on it. Although I'm not sure whether to attribute it to bad acting, writing, or directing.

Note to those Smallville fans planning to attend Sunday?s event at Comic-Con: You may want to get in line now because a very special guest has just been added to the panel.

Tom freakin? Welling!

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Welling will make his first-ever Con appearance at the show?s panel discussion on Sunday. He joins exec producers Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson, as well as fellow cast members Allison Mack, Erica Durance, Cassidy Freeman, Justin Hartley and Callum Blue.

This will mark the first time in Smallville history that the entire current cast will be assembled for Comic-Con.

And I repeat: Get in line NOW!

[spoiler tv]

You never know who you're going to randomly bump into here at Comic-Con. Take last night. I'm innocently munching on a spicy tuna roll at Warner Bros' Asian-themed cocktail reception and who should wander over to say hello but Smallville exec producer Brian Peterson. Good times, right? It gets better. The dude, who's in town for the show's historic Con panel on Sunday, talked my ear off about his blockbuster plans for season 9 and beyond. What follows after the jump are some of the highlights?

* Season 9's theme is "Clark's darkest hour."

* Look for a season-long love triangle with Clark, Lois, and Red-Blue Blur.

* Chloe, still grieving over Jimmy's death, will immerse herself in all things Watchtowerish. Peterson also hinted at some tension for Chlark when she realizes she's no longer content just being his sidekick.

* We'll find out why Clark isn't flying in a scene with him and Jor-El (the returning Terence Stamp) in the season premiere.

* Footage of Brian Austin Green as Metallo will be unveiled at tomorrow's Con panel. As of now, he's on board for two episodes, but Peterson says they're hopeful he'll do more.

* The episode they're currently shooting (either 9.02 or 9.03) focuses on Oliver's downward spiral.

* Battlestar Galactica's Alessandro Juliani will reprise his role as Dr. Emil Hamilton for several episodes this season.

* Story-wise, Peterson is not approaching this season as Smallville's last.

* I saved the best for last: Peterson recently had dinner with Michael Rosenbaum. Interpret as you like.

    • Louis Rossmann suing Samsung over "990 Pro SSD warranty scam" by Sayan Sen Back in 2023, if you recall, Neowin reviewer Robbie Khan had a dispute with Samsung over his 990 Pro SSD, which was rapidly losing its health. After significant back and forth, the tech giant had finally released firmware to "stop" the issue. Interestingly, its previous flagship at the time, the 980 Pro was also facing problems leading to two consecutive sets of firmware fixes. Three years later, it looks like a similar conflict has now broken out between tech repair entrepreneur YouTuber Louis Rossmann and Samsung, as it has escalated into a threatened lawsuit after the company allegedly refused to appropriately replace a failing 990 Pro SSD that remained under warranty. According to Rossmann, a 4TB Samsung 990 Pro NVMe SSD purchased for approximately $330 less than two years ago, began experiencing major hiccups and issues, even though he claims it had been operated under ideal cooling conditions. It was installed in a RAID 1 array and cooled by a heatsink and dual high-speed fans. However the drive reportedly started dropping out of the array, exhibiting controller-level failures that eventually became not useable in any meaningful way. Rossmann said Samsung’s support process was marked by delays and confusion from the very start. After initially contacting the wrong regional support channel, he was redirected to Samsung’s memory support division where he submitted detailed diagnostics, logs, and proof of purchase. Rossmann runs a repair company and owns an ACE Lab PC-3000 machine, which is a professional-grade data recovery equipment. As such, he had been confident in his diagnostics. Samsung even seemingly acknowledged that later. Regardless, Rossmann claims that his initial support ticket was automatically closed before a full 24-hour response window had elapsed, forcing him to reopen the case and resubmit documentation. The controversy however intensified further from here after Samsung accepted the drive for warranty evaluation but later returned it with a repair report stating that the drive had passed its testing and that the SSD had been verified as functional. Rossmann strongly disputed those claims citing that his own independent testing on PC-3000 showed write speeds reducing to as low as 40–60 MB/s before the drive failed entirely. Samsung subsequently informed him that the SSD had been reset and reflashed, passing internal stress tests. However, the company also stated that replacement units were unavailable due to an industry-wide memory shortage and suggested that a refund process could be initiated if further testing confirmed the fault. Thus, to settle, the company offered a refund of $330, the amount that was initially paid by him to make the purchase. Here, Rossmann pointed out the seeming hypocrisy of the tech giant as in how no Samsung drive was apparently allocated for warranty replacements, but they were abundantly available for retail sales especially when using business accounts. As you can see, Rossmann is indeed right, there are Samsung 990 Pro 4TB SSDs on Amazon currently for $950 (shipped and sold by first-party Amazon US itself), and they are also available on Samsung's own store too, albeit for an even higher price of $1100. Thus Rossmann argues that Samsung’s inability or unwillingness to provide a replacement while the same model remains available for purchase at significantly higher market prices reflects a failure to honor its warranty obligations. He has issued a formal 60-day notice and says he intends to file suit in Texas small claims court, asserting that companies should face greater costs for denying legitimate warranty claims than for fulfilling them. • Was it too much to ask to show the icon in this article?
    • Frankly, I blame whoever is writing such articles. "A big improvement/update and/or new feature is now available to everyone! Also, use this unofficial tweak tool to enable it because it actually isn't available to you yet officially and might not in fact even be entirely ready or whatever, hence why it is perhaps not enabled for you*. But it's great and you should enable it!" I mean there's nothing wrong with sharing info about some feature you might need to enable via unofficial means, of course. It's just that these articles tend to essentially end up being two news pieces in one, and one of them tends to be a bit misleading. (*Yes, yes, the "it's a controlled rollout!" thing. Not a fan of that one either. The argument, not the actual rollout.)
    • Thank you. Will do. I read in the release notes that editor config might be at play here.
    • Actually, I think even Microsoft doesn't know how to control it
