Smallville Season 9

Recommended Posts

Think those were all clips from previous seasons...now clips showcasing Green Arrow, Black Canary, Aquman, Impulse, Cyborg, Zatanna, Martian Manhunter, Supergirl and the Legion. Chloe talking about the "Watchtower."

Words on screen: "KNEEL BEFORE ZOD."

Callum Blue plays Zod this season.

Clip of Brian Austin Green as John Corben (Metallo)

Ends with shot of Clark in a costume wtih an "S" logo. Looked dark, but it was a dark setting for the scene. Almost looked black with a black coat, and a dark blue Superman "S" shield.

"Thank you to the fans," Souders says, pointing out that a year ago, they didn't know if they would have a season nine. "We're gunning for season 10."

Peterson: "We do read what you write on the blogs, even if it's really mean. Regardless if you agree with certain decisions, you guys are there. Nine seasons, hopefully ten."

"When's he really going to fly without a Red Kryptonite ring?" Peterson: "We actually do talk about that and address that in the season premiere."

"Are we going to see anyone new from the DC Universe?" Peterson: "You're going to be seeing Metallo in the first two episodes, you'll be seeing the return of Toyman. You'll be seeing Roulette." Peterson says there's a couple more he can't talk about.

That love scene between Clark and Lois was very hot and steamy.

so where are the videos, previews and photos? am i hearing right that clark will explain why he doesn't fly? also there will be a prototype suite with the S shield & a black cape?

how can he defeat zod without flying? also i think we all know we won't see the suit until seasons end. i have a feeling they may be setting up a new superman movie franchise with welling here!

10:40: The Warner Brothers publicist is at the podium. She's reminding us of the news that "Smallville" moves to Fridays this fall. Oh, and the complete 8th season will be released on DVD and Blue Ray on August 25.

10:42: Season 9 Clip reel... which includes scenes with The Green Arrow, Black Canary, Impulse, Cyborg, Zatania, Martian Manhuner, Supergirl, The Legion, Chloe as The Watchtower and of course Callum Blue as Zod. And Brian Austin Green shirtless. Oh boy, Lois-Clark love scene.

Dialogue:

Clark: Why would Lois in the future come after me?

New Female character: Because you betrayed us.

Clark (later): She told me I caused the end of the world.

Clip reel ends with Clark standing atop a building with the 'S' on his chest.

Crowd goes WILD.

10:50: Moderator Jeph Loeb is introducing the cast one-by-one... "And for the first time at Comic-Con... Tom Welling!" TOM WELLING. Standing room only convention room is going insane.

10:52: Tom Welling is asking how many people are here. He's told 5,000. Jeph Loeb says, I just heard it's actually 6,000. Cheers.

10:53: Erica Durance says all the things we've been waiting for, we'll see a little bit of that. Lois is dealing with being smitten with Superman, still annoyed with Clark, it's going to be spicy.

10:54: Allison Mack is asked how she likes being on the other side of things, playing The Watchtower. She says she loves it: "I love being in control. I like telling these people what to do."

10:55: Loeb says to Justin Hartley, "I don't get it, you're here. Didn't you throw down your bow? He says, "I like being told what to do." Allison says, "We work well together."

10:57: Callum Blue is saying he's having such fun on the show: "I'm loving playing an evil character."

Loeb says, "Give them a little more of the voice, the girls are loving the accent." Callum says, "It's all an act. I'm actually from Texas."

10:58: Producer Brian Peterson addresses the audience: "We do read what you write on the blogs even if it's really really mean." But he's smiling. He says, "Good or bad you've stuck with us, nine years." He's appreciative.

11:00: Time for audience questions! First question? From someone dressed in a full Batman costume. He says, "'Member me?" in deep Batman voice. Crowd goes nuts. Loeb wants to know if he has a question. "Yes," he says. "When am I gonna be on the show?" Crowd, more nuts. Question isn't answered, but Batman does get Tom Welling's name plaque. Welling signs it and hands it over.

11:02: Oh, Erica fan at the mic. Is she doing every ep this year? She will be in 18 episodes.

11:04: Tom is directing two episodes this year. Allison says Tom is one of her favorite directors. He has a very loving way. Crowd awwwws.

11:05: Audience question. Is Clark gonna fly or what? Producers say to tune in because this will be addressed in the season premiere.

11:10: Best audience question ever. Swooning girl gets to the mic and, trying her best not to faint, asks Tom Welling what he's enjoyed most about doing the show and if he could make his answer long, so he has to keep looking at her. Room goes wild. Welling obliges. Adorable. He says, slowly, that the stunts and visual effects have been great and that moving into the directing is at the top of the list.

11:12: Are we getting a season 10? Loeb says, "Are the Warner Brothers here? Did they hear that?" Question isn't answered but crowd enthusiastically shows their support of this idea.

11:15: Will we see any new characters this season? Producers say they can't announce everyone but we will see John Corbin, Toy Man, Roulette.

11:18: Will we see a little more of Green Arrow this season? We will.

11:22: If Lex is gone, will we see Jimmy again? Hartley says, "Homeboy's dead." Producers talk about how much they love Aaron Ashmore and that anything is possible, but it doesn't sound like it's something they've got planned.

11:24: Dude in Superman costume gets to the mic and tells Tom that Spandex is pretty comfortable. Big laughs.

11:25: Girl asks Tom if, now that he's a producer, he can move production from Vancouver to San Diego. Room cheers.

11:26: With Jimmy gone and Chloe busy being The Watchtower, will she have time for a love interest? Clark's name is thrown into the mix. Allison says that ship has basically sailed and he's a little busy with a few other women. Someone screams out, "Oliver!" Allison looks down the panel to Justin, smiles. Seems like she'd be down.

11:27: Producers are considering doing a Green Arrow sidekick story. Crowd loves this.

11:30: Producer Kelly Souders closes out the panel by saying this is the hardest working cast we've ever seen...

guys Tom Welling is not going to be the superman in the movie its Brandon Routh get over this thing.Tom welling said he didnt want to be playing superman in the movie I believe or the people behind smallville didnt want him to be playing superman in the movies and that both the movie and show are two seperate things. I am sorry if this is coming out harsh but thats not my intention i am just trying to say show people that are on tv never do the movies part except some tv on shows convert to the play on the movie but alot dont do it because it may hurt the franchise or etc.Another thing is Tom Welling is in his 30's guys he needs a break he probably wants to have a life and settle down and take a break from hollywood.Another thing is they wont bring all the chars from smallville over to the big screen it upset alot of the older fans that grew up with superman lore I mean like our parents and etc the ones that knew superman before smallville came on.The ratings for smallville have been going down so this may be the last season even though they are trying to get a season ten but alot of people are saying it should had ending at season 7 and etc.

ummm. your wrong! brandons contract expired, he won't be superman anymore. i really think tom will be the next sups.

they can renew his contract and no tom welling not going to be supermasn sorry but like I said either he or the the show behind smallville said he wont they are two seperate things. Is there a chance tom may be it yes but the chance is less than 5 percent guys and gals.Brandon routh probably renew the contract just as kevin spacey renew it for his to play lex again. The reason why its taking so long is the director behind sumperman returns has other movies he wants to do before he gets back to superman .So I wouldnt be suprised if the next superman movie is in 2011 or 2012.Guys Superman return was a big hit not the biggest hits but enough to make a superman 2 they not going to replace all the cast with smallville the make alot of people who seen the movie but not the show confuse and etc. I wish I could save the part where I saw tom welling answer this question or the people behind smallville the show saying no tom welling wont be playing the superman the movie superman part. This was brought up in the early seasons of smallville and again when they were casting for superman the movie.

So, to sum it up

Tom Welling becomes Co-producer

Tom Welling showing up at CC, along with ALL the other MAIN casts

The suit with S, teased in the clip at the beginning.

They got TWO more seasons worth of stories... if fans want a Season 10

Geoff Johns returning to write

Tom will directing TWO episodes this year

Erica Durance looking HOT!

Lois is going to be in 18 episodes

Allison Mack directing again

Toyman returning

Movie?

They are hoping for two more season but highly doubt it because of ratings been going down since season 7.

I think we know before jan 2010 if it be a series finale or a season finale for season 9 depedning on ratings.

They better freaking do Superman and stop with the teasing crap. The no tights no flight crap has got to go either. Tom Welling has to accept the fact that everyone wants to SEE it already.

hey its not tom welling fault get over it its the people behind smallville that made this rule that he wont wear the tights till the last episode.Smallville is about him becoming who he is not about superman its about his journey becoming superman.

Uh, Tom Welling is now a producer on the show, he can decide it now as well. Not to mention when he signed up for the show HE made it clear he didn't want to fly or put on the tights until the end.

If the show is about his journey to becoming Superman, they've sure strayed a bit the past oh, 5 seasons or so?

    • Waymo recalls self-driving software after cars enter closed freeway work zones by Paul Hill Waymo, the self-driving car maker owned by Alphabet – the parent company of Google –, has recalled some of its fifth-generation Automated Driving Systems (ADS). It did so after some of its cars drove through closed construction zones. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the affected vehicles were capable of driving through a closed freeway construction zone and continuing to drive at speed. The listing on the NHTSA website says that Waymo is currently developing a solution to fix this issue, but in the meantime, freeway driving is being restricted. Waymo will update its ADS software so that vehicles can detect when they can avoid entering construction zones. According to the Safety Recall Report, on April 20, 2026, Waymo’s Field Safety Committee began meetings reviewing an event from April 11, 2026, and five events from April 19, 2026, where Waymo’s autonomous vehicles didn’t recognize and drove past ramp closure signs into the pre-planned freeway construction zones. This took place in Phoenix, Arizona. Separately, on May 18, 2026, seven Waymo vehicles entered freeway lanes with active construction in the San Francisco Bay Area by driving between cones that were placed to show the lane was closed. On the back of both of these events, Waymo restricted freeway driving until it could address the issue. In June, Waymo’s Safety Board reviewed the issue and additional information related to ADS performances around construction zones; then, as a result, it decided to conduct a recall. This development is not good for Waymo as it adds to a growing list of technical hiccups its cars have experienced. Ultimately, it will lead to more scrutiny from lawmakers around the world who will be more cautious about letting autonomous vehicles on their roads without tighter regulation. For readers in areas where Waymo operates, does this news make you more wary about stepping into one of these vehicles?
    • I'm still on Windows 10 22H2 because I didn't want to deal with all the issues in Windows 11, so I waited almost a week before installing the latest Patch Tuesday update (KB5094127), I went ahead and did it, and it was a huge mistake—ever since then, my File Explorer has seen a performance drop of about 30% when transferring large files... Once again, Microsoft has outdone itself! This update cannot be uninstalled, either through the Control Panel (via Settings) or by accessing Advanced Startup Options. The only possible alternative would be to use system restore points, but I’d have to reinstall all app and driver updates (and there’s no guarantee it would work). Or there’s the “nuclear option” of a in-place repair without losing files or apps, but even then, all my customizations would be lost! Microsoft just can’t help but mess everything up! Way to go, Microsoft! But I still don’t want your c****y Windows 11!
    • Microsoft: Windows 11 could finally solve a major issue across AMD, Nvidia, and Intel GPUs by Sayan Sen While Microsoft has been trying to improve it, Windows 11 is definitely not flawless, as even today some issues are taking a year to publicly acknowledge. However, one area of trouble that may finally see much better results soon is graphics driver crashes. Work on graphics driver timeouts, also called Timeout and Detection Recovery (TDR), is not new as the latest WDDM 3.2 also has specific improvements regarding it. Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) version 3.2 is supported on Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2. However, with the upcoming version 26H2, TDR crash diagnosis could go to the next level as Microsoft is introducing a new DirectX 12 API feature called "DirectX Dump Files". Similar to how system memory dump files work when a system crashes or freezes or encounters any such major issue, DirectX Dump Files (DDF) will essentially record a snapshot of the GPU execution right at the moment a graphics-related crash or hang or freeze occurs, so that developers can better understand and diagnoze these TDR and timeout detection errors. The dump will be available as a .dxdmp file for analysis and it will be a comprehensive dump file generated with detailed insights about the hardware, drivers, Windows, as well as the affected application. This should be another welcome change in this department. Earlier at GDC 2026, when the technology was first debuted, Microsoft had shared more details regarding it. The company had explained how DDF is designed to gather data from every layer of the graphics stack into a single file, eliminating the need for developers to manually correlate logs from multiple tools. As mentioned above, the dump can contain a lot of useful details like GPU hardware state information such as register values, shader program counters, page fault virtual addresses, shader memory data, and command buffers. Alongside that, it also captures DirectX runtime and kernel information, including D3D objects, pipeline state objects, device error data, adapter details, and CPU call stacks. Microsoft says the feature has been built around two primary use cases: retail device removals and local device removals. The former allows developers to collect crash information from end users' systems in the field, while the latter helps QA teams and developers investigate issues on test machines. Developers will also be able to include up to 2 MB of custom application data through new D3D12 APIs, providing additional context for troubleshooting. In addition, Microsoft is introducing three dump collection modes ranging from zero-overhead capture, which has no runtime performance impact on supported hardware, to higher-detail modes that collect more vendor-specific debugging data. On compatible Tier 2 hardware, zero-overhead dumps will be enabled by default, meaning developers may begin receiving useful crash diagnostics without making any code changes. The table below explains the three tiers: Tier Description NO_OVERHEAD Enables crash capture with no runtime cost and is suitable for broad deployment MEDIUM_OVERHEAD Provides a balance, capturing additional diagnostic data with moderate impact HIGH_OVERHEAD Collects the most detailed GPU and driver state available, enabling deeper investigation at the cost of higher runtime overhead In terms of availability, the company expects broader release to be around the fall of 2026, which should be right around the time when Windows 11 version 26H2 lands. Right now, DirectX Dump Files are available as a preview and currently, only AMD has the compatible AgilitySDK Developer Preview driver version 26.10.07.02. You can find the official announcement post here on Microsoft's website.
