Not sure if you've seen this Rappy, seems like a 4th contender: Italians Involved

Yeah hopefully it'll all be concluded soon because Zola has said he won't do any business selling/buying until its all sorted and we need players!

Liverpool's Fernando Torres to have operation on knee

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres needs an operation on his right knee and will be out of action for six weeks.

Steven Gerrard and Yossi Benayoun have also joined the Reds' injury list.

Gerrard will miss two weeks with a hamstring strain, while Benayoun faces three to four weeks on the sidelines because of a fractured rib.

All three were injured in Liverpool's FA Cup defeat by Reading on Wednesday, providing yet more bad news for under-fire Reds boss Rafael Benitez.

Spain striker Torres lasted barely half an hour against Reading, while Liverpool captain Gerrard went off at half-time.

A Liverpool spokesman said both players had undergone scans on Thursday.

"Steven has a hamstring strain and will be out for a fortnight, while Fernando has torn a cartilage in his right knee," the spokesman added.

"The injury will require surgery and he is expected to be sidelined for six weeks."

Benayoun - one of Liverpool's better players in what has been a desperately disappointing season so far - sustained a fractured rib in the 2-1 extra-time loss to Reading.

The trio will miss this weekend's match against Stoke and the subsequent Premier League encounters with Tottenham and Wolves but the Reds will hope to have Gerrard back in time to face Bolton on 30 January.

However, Torres's injury means he is set to miss next month's Merseyside derby against Everton and February's league matches with third-placed Arsenal and fourth-placed Manchester City.

Torres and Gerrard have struggled with injuries for most of the season, with both finding it difficult to hit top form as Liverpool's fortunes have waned.

The triple setback comes at a time when Benitez is under mounting pressure, with his side out of the Champions League and both domestic cups and down in seventh place in the Premier League.

Arsenal go top of premiership with a 4-2 win over Bolton Wanderers.

I watched it on the net, with refreshing I saw 4 (3 to Arsenal and 1 to Bolton).

Arsenal dominated from what I saw, but they still need a sweeper and another tall strong defender.

Brilliant win, coming from 0:2 down.

Never should have conceded the 2 though, Denilson showed us again how poor he is, giving away a penalty and generally sloppy play.

Cesc is amazing.

Oh ****!!! That was today???! :( I missed it coz suddenly got a lot of work and completely forgot abt it.. very glad abt the win though.. should find the highlights on footytube soon..

We already beat Villa once, Man Utd were lucky last time around Rooney dived and got a penalty, Liverpool did great today beating Spuds but I feel we can win that one too.. only tough game is Chelsea.. if we win that and Villa and one of Man U or 'Pool ones and draw the other we will be on top.. we are on top now and for now thats the bottom line.. spend some more billion pounds and maybe you'll buy a bigger lead over us next season..

I was about to answer but..

Yeah.Right.Whatever.

Enjoy your short stay on top.

Was glad to hear Coyle complain that we tackled them too hard.. usually its AW saying this.. a good sign.. lets kick em if they kick us men!!

Coyle moaned about Arsenal not putting the ball out of play when we got a goal.

For two seasons now, that is up to the referee to blow-up.

Wenger did not moan when Denilson went down against Everton, though Denilson should have fallen on the ball and handled it.

Arsenal were denied a penalty which was more of a penalty than what Bolton got.

Boltons was a penalty, Denilson has got to learn how to tackle in the area.

+1  It's a shame that they can't buy the biggest trophy in club football, the UCL, eh? :D

In the context of our season, an excellent win over Spurs yesterday, I hope we can build some momentum now.

Is that right?

Now what makes you say that Rooney is a better player than Kaka, Fabregas, Vermaden, Ronaldo or Defoe?

This year he is a far more influential player than any of those. And he scores. But anyway no matter what I say you'll never agreed, cause we don't wear the same shirt. But at the end of the season, once in South Africa, maybe you'll see.

Incorrect I have a very high level of honesty and integrity.

Scoring goals does not make eth the great player.

When I was 10 I scored 5 goals in one game against Whitgift school, we won 5-1.

Only 1 was a tap in the others were from outside the D.

That doesn't make me a great player, I was a better defender in secondary school and thats where the best players are.

When Rooney is on the big stage he is found wanting, thats why he got sent off against Portugal, because he is not the complete player.

That was long ago. He's matured A LOT as a player and as an individual. He's definitely in the top 3 for the year if he continues this form. Let's see how the rest of the season pans out before coming to conclusions though. Like they say, don't count your chickens before they hatch :p.

Juventus have identified Rafael Ben?tez as the man to replace Ciro Ferrara as manager and hope to capitalise on the Spaniard's frustration with financial constraints at Liverpool with an imminent approach for his services.

Ferrara is close to the sack following a run of six defeats in eight games, the latest courtesy of a stoppage-time winner by the former Liverpool defender John Arne Riise for Roma, and officials at the Turin club have drawn up a list of possible replacements for the inexperienced coach. Liverpool's manager is understood to head their list and will be formally invited to join Juventus once Ferrara has departed, although Ben?tez could delay his appointment until the summer should he choose to accept.

Ben?tez is aware of the Italians' interest and his agent, Manuel Garcia Quilon, last night refused to rule out the possibility of a stunning departure from Anfield. "Ben?tez to Juventus? In football you never know," Quilon said. "I don't know what will happen in four to five months. In football everything changes quickly, but the basic principle is that Rafa still has a four-year contract with Liverpool." Ben?tez's agent insisted, however, that a move to Juventus is not a fait accompli. Quilon added: "Right now, that hypothesis is not correct, because he is a very important figure [at Anfield]. The idols of the fans are [steven] Gerrard, [Fernando] Torres, and Ben?tez."

Benitez is contracted with Liverpool until 2014, a small part of the picture that Juventus seem to be overlooking. Although if management do want to get rid of him, I guess this is one way to do it without making a massive payout

I think if Rafa goes it would just mean more complications for the club. Lets hope they can beat the Wolves today and start this positive run

Bristol City 0 - 6 Cardiff  with 35mins to go!!

Love this quote from bbc website.

Gary Johnson, who is taking charge of his 200th league game as Bristol City boss, responded to the cup defeat against the Bluebirds by declaring that his side "will be ready for them" at Ashton Gate

    • Microsoft announces the return of Xbox exclusives with Gears of War and Clockwork Revolution by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Microsoft had plenty of announcements to make today at the Xbox Games Showcase celebrating 25 years of the gaming brand. Now, under the leadership of the new Xbox CEO Asha Sharma, Xbox games are going back to their original release methods. She appeared in the livestream itself to announce the return of Xbox console exclusives. This means two major upcoming games from first-party studios won't be coming to PlayStation or Nintendo consoles: Gears of War: E-Day from The Coalition and Clockwork Revolution from InExile. Both titles will only be coming out on Xbox Series X|S consoles and Windows PCs, ditching any plans they had for PlayStation. "These are not timed exclusives," confirmed Microsoft. "We’re committed to investing in and growing XBOX both on console and beyond." The company confirmed that any already announced Xbox titles for PlayStation, under previous leadership, will continue to arrive for the rival platform. This means games like the new Halo remake, Forza Horizon 6, Fable, and State of Decay 3 will still be available on PlayStation, either at launch or later. It sounds like any new projects announced by the company will avoid other consoles in the same way. Microsoft first opened the floodgates by bringing titles like Sea of Thieves, Grounded, Hi-Fi Rush, and Pentiment to PlayStation and Nintendo consoles back in 2024. Since then, almost every new game release from Xbox Game Studios has arrived for rival consoles alongside Xbox and PC. This decision follows Sony's plans to ditch its own multiplatform releases too. Outside of multiplatform live service titles, the PlayStation maker is even abandoning its PC porting endeavors that started years ago.
    • I'm missing the beginning part of this equation... but for the sake of the convo, you don't get to take a $250(?) set of normally priced RAM, jack it up to over $500/600/800 just because of a market shift, then lower it back down to more than what it was originally and call that a "sale". Not the author of this post... the manufacturer/seller.
