As soon as I load up outlook, I tried to import things, it locked up.

Now as soon as I open it...."Not responding"

Frown sent to them. POS. lol.

I am now repairing it. If that doesnt work its getting uninstalled and then re installed.

Not sure how long you waited, but it is generally a good idea to give it some time. As it probably is upgrading your PST file more than anything else.

I had that error too. I just looked through my connect directory until it came up, pressed apply and did it through there.

I suppose that the error had something to do with the registration. After I posted about the error, I looked around in the connect directory and found the download. I guess I wasn't expecting to have to browse through the connect directories.

Got it installed (32-bit). Haven't really seen anything that looks different from Office 2007, except for the animated "splash" screen when starting the office apps.

There is no PST file for it to use.

Windows Mail doesn't use PST files sadly. So it only said it couldn't find them. then it doesnt work.

Uninstalled it, then reinstalled but it kept the settings, so i am back at square one.

ugh this is such a mess. I try to import a save that I have of my Contacts and Inbox, but it says the PST file is already in use!

What the ****!

How can I import my contacts and Inbox that are PST folders?

When I start outlook it says "Cannot find inbox.pst file"

I hit ok

it says "Cannot find contacts.pst file"

I point it to where they are at. and it goes away,

then I go to "Import" and it wont let me import them because they are "already in use".

I got the issue fixed.

Now it has an option to import from Windows Mail. It imports my contacts. But not my email.

Can someone help me out.

When I set up an account it gives it, its own folder. and doesn't go to the default place.

below.

It places my email separately and doesn't do anything under "inbox".

What am I doing wrong?

I cannot make my gmail default for some reason

I just got my invite. For those that have installed it: does it seem stable enough for daily use? I'm trying to decide if I'll install it on my work laptop or not.

Also, does anyone know if SharePoint Server 2010 will ever be part of the technical preview?

Did you setup and Exchange or Hotmail account?

Did you setup and Exchange or Hotmail account?

No, at one point I had office 2007 installed. It took a fit, and I uninstalled it, so when I installed this version somewhere, the settings were around and it imported that.

If I go and delete those old files, outlook says "Cannot find Inbox and contacts.pst"

    • Any decent ITSM will A) have a web form that allows a user to raise a ticket, if you're writing an email you can write a ticket. B) Monitor a mailbox and auto-generate tickets based on inbound mails for those users that really can't get their heads around the concept that if you have an issue you go to support.mycompany.com and fill in the box. From your description you're having users email the desk, and then having a human read each one and manually raise a ticket on behalf of the user.

    • Fixing things? Have you ever tried linux? Everything works out of the box nowadays in most common hardware. This includes Wifi and Bluetooth. If anything, if they return back to windows is because they haven't found an equivalent program which often used on windows.
