Two new MVC members announced

Recommended Posts

I don't actually "help" anyone hence the lack of MVC, if I posted 43k posts in software or hardware helping people I would probably be one by now...all I do is keep the media section going ;)

How does that not help the media nutters?

A board is dead without content to discuss :p

I think as long as someones posts are typically of a high standard putting that much time into a board/section ain't a bad shout for a "repsected" status. On the other hand about 16,000 of my posts are probably 'GH politics'

Sethos, you usually have one of the best sarcasm detectors....

With your dedication to the Media postings I would say you deserve MVC. You should have got one a long time ago in my opinion.

Should be a new type of member, "Masters of sections" :D Hum for new, Rappy for media, and the gamers can fight it out between themselves

Good idea. Who's going to host the Quake III server for the GH masters?

Copying and pasting does not deserve accreditation.

While I do somewhat agree that copying and pasting doesn't deserve accreditation. Hum does pretty much what Rappy does (finding news) and has a section named after him. I'm not hating on Hum or anything, it's just Rappy spends time finding news/updates/etc. He deserves some kind of recognition and a lot of people would agree. Even if Rappy isn't one of them :)

That is all the other MVC's do. They copy information from other sources, compile it (in their brains!) in to something meaningful and then dish it out as necessary to be helpful. The difference is Rappy gives you the information before you ask for it / knew it was available whilst the other MVC's hold the knowledge and wait for someone who needs it before giving it out.

Rappy deserves MVC as much as anyone else.

Hum doesn't have a section named after him. It's a coincidence.

Hum in this case refers to chatter, chit chat, etc..

i would Lulz if Rappy became MVC because of this, also don't take away the celebration from the people who did get it

It's not a coincidence. I remember when it was named. lol

There was even a poll as to what it should be named if I remember correctly.

No he didn't change his name. the posts are there because it was named something else prior to that, therefor there are older posts in the section.

And congrats to the new members of the MVC group.

I'm totally floored.. thanks so much for this guys. Something I would never have expected at all!

I look forward to getting more involved with Neowin and trying to become an even more useful contributor :)

Funny, that badge looks like it was already supposed to be there. :)

Hello,

I am not really sure what to say (still in shock, I suppose), so I would just like to thank all of you your kind words and Neowin for the recognition.

Regards,

Aryeh Goretsky
