I used to be able to crash explorer at will by going to control panel, selecting one of the categories, then clicking the back button then selecting one of the categories again and repeating it 3 times. Used to crash every time. After I installed those hotfixes, it does not crash anymore, so I guess one of them must have sorted it out. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

kimsland Posted August 2, 2009 Share Posted August 2, 2009 There can be many reasons for Explorer crashes both software and hardware (ie Ram or even dust) or even Malware Best to try to stop all startups first, and also run a full Antivirus scan If you're able to backup all your data and settings, a clean re-install should prove if its hardware related or not But always confirm all manufacture drivers are up to date, and Windows Updates are completed Sometimes its even external devices connected to your computer Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
