Wakers
oh oh, seems like someone downloaded a dodgy RTM? Or didn't do a clean install perhaps? Th3LoRdMiDo
oh oh, seems like someone downloaded a dodgy RTM?Or didn't do a clean install perhaps? nope it's the legit RTM and with clean install and the explorer issue happens since the beta i wonder if they noticed it b4 the sign off Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/804948-explorerexe-crashes-few-times-day/#findComment-591362746 Share on other sites
StevoJD
I was having the same problem, WinRAR's shell integration was causing it for me. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/804948-explorerexe-crashes-few-times-day/#findComment-591362758 Share on other sites
zshadow
nope it's the legit RTM and with clean install and the explorer issue happens since the beta i wonder if they noticed it b4 the sign off More people would be reporting it if it were an actual Windows bug. I haven't had explorer crash on Win 7 once yet, and I run my PC 24/7. I used to be able to crash explorer at will by going to control panel, selecting one of the categories, then clicking the back button then selecting one of the categories again and repeating it 3 times. Used to crash every time. After I installed those hotfixes, it does not crash anymore, so I guess one of them must have sorted it out. FoxieFoxie
Removing Winamp and WinRAR fixed the issue (maybe), so far, no crashes. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/804948-explorerexe-crashes-few-times-day/#findComment-591369312 Share on other sites
kimsland
There can be many reasons for Explorer crashes both software and hardware (ie Ram or even dust) or even Malware Best to try to stop all startups first, and also run a full Antivirus scan If you're able to backup all your data and settings, a clean re-install should prove if its hardware related or not But always confirm all manufacture drivers are up to date, and Windows Updates are completed Sometimes its even external devices connected to your computer Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/804948-explorerexe-crashes-few-times-day/#findComment-591369314 Share on other sites
