[Official] Batman: Arkham Asylum

All I have to say is.. ****ing Scarecrow ****ing me up! I thought my 360 froze!

Loved that part, one of my favorite parts of the game so far was playing that mission. :D

Just to note: I am about just past the area where I have to go look for the doctor that is making the virus and broke off the deal with Joker.

the Scarecrow sequence was breathtaking, it was that good. the Bane boss battle...really run of the mill, reminded me of Prototype's "here, take a dozen more minions" mentality. The AI is a bit dumb, yes, you can stealth takedown without even crouching sometimes, and they really don't look up much, do they? But these are minor issues. It's also a long game, right? i've played about 3 hours and only 13% done. Or does it count every puzzle, challenge, trophy and so on?

omg.. wow.. I'm suprised I walked in and got a copy then. I didn't know they were sold out soo quick. But yeah meh.. it's just a strategy guide.. it's not like I'm gonna look at it at all to help me. Part of the dectective experience is to do the things yourself. Then you realize.. OHHHHH lol..

I guess it varies by area. Unfortunately, my area is full of gamers. Speaking of the strategy guide, my brother just picked one up from a local EB Games. According to him, it's very helpful. I took a brief look at it myself and I was surprised at how in-depth it is.

eh.. oh well.. I"m gonna probably gonna try and get it tommorow. If none, I"m not gonna go cry about it.. since I'm almost done the game anyway lol.

I don't really think you need it for the missions as they are self-explanatory on what you need to do and where to go. The only hard thing is getting all the Riddler's trophies, the arachnid thingies, and the Riddler's riddles. :p

What parts are in depth?

Sorry for the double, but I am stuck! :(

I am at the part where Joker throws the guard in the water and then the guard is electrocuted. Then when I go to the generator room I can't find a way to get it off.

Anyone know how? I have been trying this for the past hour but failed to figure anything out. :/

I need to buy this .. D:

I really, really badly wanna get it on steam.

i was choked that it got delayed for pc... ended up getting it for 360 instead. I really wanted to support PC gaming with this title... stupid delays. But meh, amazing game :)

I need to play it more - just not enough time in a day between work, the gym and all LOL. I played it just to see what it was like - next thing I know I played it for a couple hours and it was midnight hahaha. If that's not a sign of a good game, I dont know what is

Not sure about the joker throwing the guard in the water but, if you?re talking about the generator room where the maintenance guy was captive and you have like 5-6 goons to defeat.

If it?s that then look left of where the guy was sitting and you?ll find one of those bombs looking thing, you?ll just have to disable it to shut of the generators.

Yes! Exactly that! How do I disable it? I go near it, but it does not give me any options.

I can't remember the name of it, but use the thing that you use to disable the electronic gates.

Finished the main story. What an awesome game. Now I just need to start on the challenges and get the rest of the Riddler puzzles.

    • UK funds £60M AI labs to challenge US tech dominance with open-source models by Paul Hill The UK government has awarded £60 million to Oxford University and University College London to help keep the country in the AI race by focusing on open-source, low-hardware alternatives. This is in stark contrast to the expensive, closed-source, and high-hardware-requirement models being created in the United States and elsewhere. The money will be shared among two new academic research labs over six years to help them redesign the fundamental mathematics and architectures of AI to help the UK reduce its reliance on a handful of US tech firms. Commenting on the development, AI Minister Kanishka Narayan said: Initially, the government planned to fund just one lab with a £40 million investment, but with this update, two labs will now get access to a larger pool of funds. The labs are expected to invest in the top AI researchers at every career stage, with £2 million per lab being set aside for hiring at least ten doctoral students. The government hopes that this will grow the UK’s talent in the field of AI. The labs are also expected to work closely with the leaders in British AI research, such as the Alan Turing Institute and UKRI’s AI research hubs. This will allow the various teams to collaborate and create new solutions faster than they could alone. This development is pretty interesting for a number of reasons, chiefly that it could create a long-term challenge for US tech firms if these labs successfully scale these open-source architectures that bypass the proprietary ecosystems. It could also give British businesses and public sector organizations access to AI features without paying high licensing fees to foreign providers or needing to invest in specialized server infrastructure.
    • If I were them, I'm gonna hold out until the prices of these semiconductor parts normalize. $1,049 for a ~5 year old hardware is DoA, more so for gamers. On a deeper note, if Steam Machine is priced like this, we are soo effed up for the next gen Xbox console and PS6. With great AAA titles releasing at the end of the year, this just creates more demand...and more tears for me. Lol.
    • I suspect one reason its hard to justify subsidising is that it's not a locked down device like a traditional console is. In this climate sadly if it was a "good deal" you'd get people hoarding them for anything but gaming. The Lenovo Legion Go 2 with the Ryzen Z2 Extreme is £1300 here ($1720) for some context on how other SteamOS like devices are now priced. I got the older Z1 Extreme model for £300 with a dock, just shows how insane prices have got recently.
