[Official] Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

The more I play MP, the more I feel like this game is such a disappointment compared to MW1 and even WAW.

Gameplay has just gone completely arcade now. It's pretty much Quake/Unreal; every match is just pure chaos because of all the stupid kill streaks. Playing methodically means you basically have no chance. Then there's every other person that has to use marathon, lightweight, commando. Getting so tired of people charging straight at you and getting one hit kills. Ugh. Even worse when people use that build while holding the care package marker (makes you run even faster). I wish the knife were more like CS than MW's one hit kills. It should only be a last resort, not a main weapon. It's ridiculous when you can pretty easily take out an entire team by knifing. And if you're going against a host using a "knife build", good luck.

Then there's tactical insertion. Does anyone besides boosters even use this?

Edit: Oh yeah, forgot to say, the maps are almost all garbage too. Favela, wasteland, estate are just awful. Only decent maps are Afghan and Terminal. On top of that, except for rust, they're ALL useless for splitscreen multiplayer.

In any case, I think I'm done with this game unless there's a patch that tones down commando or a new game mode that turns off killstreaks/perks.

For comparison, the series has always been more "arcadey", that is just the what it is. Remember everybody using three grenades? Kind of funny to think of how quickly everybody forgot the faults of MW1.

In terms of map preferences, everybody has their own opinion.

Yes I do use tactical insertion and use it to basically own the other team repeatedly. Because I play Domination and considering the map size, TI is almost a must. That way I can be right back in an enemy base (or near) which means I can try to take that base or wipe them all out. :p

I know your probably just frustrated with a few, but killstreaks/perks is the foundation of the MW series. If they take out one class, people will just switch to another which the average person will just find even more annoying. The key is learning to take out the dominate class easily and that way you don't have to worry or get frustrated any time you get in a match with that kind of person.

Hey just got the game and playing SP and loving it. Just a little confused about all the different scopes. Anyone care to explain the difference with all of them?

Red Dot/Holographic - Very similar, good for shooting at a distance but also for quick pull ups.

ACOG - Very good at shooting a distance, but only use on a low recoil gun. Not very good in random quick pull up situations.

Thermal - Great on snipers

Iron Sights (Default) - Great when using it on guns like the SCAR or TAR because that means you can use extended magazines instead of a scope.

The more I play MP, the more I feel like this game is such a disappointment compared to MW1 and even WAW.

Just wait for Battlefield my friend.

I followed that video to Youtube and clicked on a "Similar Result" video in the right and found an even funnier one.

 How the hell did he not see them!?!?

I also agree that multi-player kinda is on the suck side. :/

Stuff like this just looks fake to me like they planned it.

I have to say same here, especially that last one. I mean cmon now people are stupid, but especially in the last video I just cannot see the person being that stupid.

Just wait for Battlefield my friend.

Already am. Been in the beta for a while and have been enjoying. Trying not to play it too much though so I don't get burned out from playing the same map over and over again. I just wish they had a slightly higher player limit considering the size of the map... maybe 24 instead of 16.

Blind firing grenade launcher  nub

Stopped watching as soon as I seen that lol

How is that blind firing? It's precision.. granade launcher is more difficult then people think. On close range it doesn't explode, you have to have a feel to fire at a proper distance too. It requires skill. That's why people complain. Those who don't know how to use it get killed by it.

I have no issues with other people using it. It's almost on any assault rifle.

I don't get the whining from people. Using exploit and running with a glitchy care package requires no skill and that's BS. Using a granade launcher does and it's a valid part of the game. You can use danger close but you sacrifice stopping power or other perks. It's about a choice and how you play. Launchers can misfire too, so it's definitely not all peachy.

I find it funny, because I don't get what people would like others who use granade launchers to do? Run with a pistol only so you can kill them easier? That's the point of the game. You have the same tools at your disposal. Use it.

The only issue in the game is care package glitching and now nerfed 1887s. There's always someone who finds it awesome to go and run with a care package glitch. And then when I use it to kick their ass they all start crying.

I will agree with you on my points but no way in hell does the grenade launcher require skills - There's a reason why the global nickname is noobtube. It's a no-skill "fire in your general direction" weapon.

Well.. let's look at this way.. I can hit a window from across the map. How many people can do that? Sure, when a launcher grenade explodes it has a sever impact on the surrounding area but hey, if you don't use danger close it's most likely it will not kill people unless it lands in front of their feet. Noob tube nickname is giving because people can't escape death when someone uses it properly and they are bitching. I can also call people who use machine guns noobs too. You can spray and pray 150-200 bullets even if you suck at aiming.. so what's the point? How about semtex nade? Maybe those shouldn't be used too cause they can kill 2-3 people at once? Or wait, maybe we should not be using Javelin cause you know, it's like a predator missile you can aim from the ground?

As I said, you can pick any assault rifle and equip it with grenade launcher. It's not just one gun, it's all of them. So use it. If you want to use danger close to increase power, that's being done with a conscious decision that you sacrifice other things like hardline, stopping power etc. Sometimes these perks outweigh grenade launchers in so many ways. By the time I can even fire a launcher someone can kill me, not to mention that when a bullet hits you, your launcher aim goes way off so no way you can hit the target.

Of course it requires skill and comes with sacrifices too. Sure, you can kill more then one person if you have a proper timed shot and lands in the right spot but you are also toast if you are in close range. It's simple as that.

As I mentioned, people who complain would prefer me running around with only a pistol so it's easier for them to kill me. What's the point of that?

btw, on that map I only had 5 or 6 kills with a launcher. Most others were from semtex or bullets.

Whaaa. A kill's a kill. If he were just using the grenade launcher the entire game I'd understand, but I don't see any problem with how he used it.

Use it in Hardcore with no reticle. You will change your mind. I get called out for cheating all the time on the 360 because I can land a tube from across the map into a window and kill the campers. There is a ton of skill involved when used in hardcore. I laugh when someone gets owned over and over because they keep going back to the same spot, then they re-spawn with the "noobtube" and have no clue how to use it.

Please, I only play(ed) Hardcore and it's still a noobtube there.

It's only people who need to justify themselves using it who will try to make it sound like it requires skills. Learning the trajectory of the launched grenade is not rocket science. Funny thing is, I was rarely / never killed by a grenade launcher but I still hated it.

You must be one the people that can not use it properly. Don't hate, I need no justification to kill in this game. A kill is a kill and if someone cries about it (which many do) then tough. There is skill involved, you do not have to like it just except it. I love hearing the crying. If I use a tube I get called a "noobtuber" If I use a sniper rifle i get called a "camper" If I use a machine gun I get called "spray and pray" no matter what I do I get called something, but wait it is by all the people under me at the bottom. Dont get me started on the kill streaks, the crying that comes with them is insane. I guess I should just run around knifing, ohhhh cant do that, get called a "hacker". All the whining and crying usually comes from the losers. When the crying gets especially loud I break out the Akimbo P90's, Lightweight pro, marathon pro and Steady Aim Pro combined with Claymores (I randomly drop them) and just run around like an idiot killing everything in sight. Then the tears start to flow, I love making clans quit. I only play Hardcore.

Why must I be one of those because I disagree with you? I have tried the noobtube and it's super easy to use - It's laughable when people try to justify it by claiming it requires skills, you just need to learn the trajectory as I said and it's the easiest kill you will get in this game. And don't put me in the same barrel as everyone else, because you feel offended. My gripe is only with the grenade launcher, nothing else.

Also the reason why I quit the game, the game is filled to the brim with no-skill weapons and clown-hat gameplay bathed in weird killstreaks and silly perks. IW managed to drown the game this time around compared to MW1, which was an epic game.

If it was so easy to use everyone would use it. The goal of the game is to win. To dismiss it as no skill is ignorant. Just because you were able to figure it out does not make it easy for everyone. I see so many people in Hardcore trying to use it with no effect. It has a very needed place in this game. There are many "blind" spots in the game that the weapon was designed for. Being able to put your grenades into these spots can make or break a game. Take Estate for instance. Who ever spawns at the top will take the house and it is easily defended. I am able to but rounds into the windows easily, out of site and uproot the enemy. With scavenger equipped I can easily lock the house down from a safe distance and eventually take the house. Running and random fire is luck, using it how it was meant to be used is skill.

And I agree, the game is very arcade and nowhere realistic but once you get past that and except it for what it is, it is very fun. You want realistic try Arma 2.

    • Windows 11 is getting redesigned taskbar settings in new build by Taras Buria Microsoft is rolling out new Windows 11 preview builds in the Insider program, offering users new features and changes to try ahead of public release. In the Experimental channel (formerly Dev), Microsoft is shipping build 26300.8758, while in the Beta channel, users can download build 26220.8754. The changelogs do not contain much, but there is an important update to taskbar settings. Here is what is new in build 26220.8754: [Taskbar] Taskbar customization just got easier. As we continue to make improvements to the Taskbar experience mentioned last month, we've introduced a dedicated Taskbar Size setting, making it simpler to find, understand, and personalize your ideal taskbar experience. We've also made refinements to the transitions between taskbar sizes for a smoother overall experience. [File Explorer] We've improved the reliability of thumbnail previews for cloud files in the Details pane. The pane has also been reorganized so file properties are easier to find and review at a glance. Fixed an issue where the OneDrive shortcut in File Explorer stops working when File Explorer is run in administrative mode. Fixed an issue where the confirmation dialog might display an internal Recycle Bin file name instead of the original file name when permanently deleting a file. [Sounds] Improved system sounds when using Windows in dark mode. And here is what is new in build 26220.8754: [Smart card removal policy] Administrators can now configure Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Windows 365 sessions that use Microsoft Entra ID (RDS AAD Auth) authentication to automatically disconnect when a redirected smart card is removed. This extends smart card removal policy enforcement to Microsoft Entra authenticated remote sessions, helping organizations meet security and compliance requirements. [File Explorer] Fixed an issue where the OneDrive shortcut in File Explorer stops working when File Explorer is run in administrator mode. [Taskbar] Improved reliability of loading the system tray area of the taskbar. [Sounds] Improved system sounds when using Windows in dark mode. You can find release notes for build 26300.8758 here and for build 26220.8754 here.
