[Official] Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

The noobtube is fun. I usually have the "One Man Army" perk or "Scavenger" so that i can get unlimited grenades. And it does require skill to use it and aim it. It doesn't come straight out like a bullet, it archs, and you have to know where you're shooting it to get a kill. There are many limitations to it, like not exploding when shooting it close, and if it lands in front of an object your enemy is behind, it won't kill them. It can just fly right through an open building if you're not a skilled noobtuber. It takes skill to aim at a bunker from halfway across the map, and shoot a grenade into a small window and kill your enemies, also while playing it in hardcore where there are no sites to aim with for the grenade launcher.

To all that are complaining, quit whining please. Don't be mad because people aren't playing the game exactly as you do. There are many different strategies and ways to play. I really hate camping snipers, but i don't complain, it's just another way to play. I just counter with a noobtube. =)

So Microsoft announced the exclusive early content to XBL is coming this Spring. Hopefully there's some good original maps.

Unfortunately, I surely doubt that. For the last map pack the only good map was one they brought back from COD2. On that note, I have no idea what they were thinking when they brought back Wasteland from COD2 as well!

I agree! Bullets travel too fast too, I should be able to dodge those as well!

It takes more than one bullet to kill ;)

That is unless of course it's a head shot and you'd expect nothing less. But of course MW2 can't even get that right, it's completely oblivious to head shots 90% of the time. That's another topic though :p

oh and it is possible to dodge bullets, Neo anyone? ;D

I must be one of the few who actually like wasteland. Any ideas how much this dlc will cost??

Wish they would hurry up and sort the care package glitch out. Its not like its a secret anymore, nor is it hard to replicate. At least one person a match is doing it now. :(

Must be a play type thing. In Hardcore if any team sees one of their players doing this, everyone Tks them until they quit. Same thing when the Javelin glitch was so rampant. As soon as someone did it they were ganged up on. It didn't last long.

As do I. A snipers paradise. That map has so many angles and sweet spots. A chopper gunner on that map is devastating. I have a special sniper kit just for that map. Only issue is if both teams are completely sniping, then it can become boring. I loved it in COD2 (Brecourt) .

Erm, just played a game and the 1887 still seem too powerful to me or is it me?

I think any weapon that someone has Akimbo'd is going to be overpowering if it is mastered. I have Akimbo P90's and they are devastating once I mastered them. I reserve them for special servers (the ones full of crybabies) but fun none the less and definitely unfair, but they are great for clearing out the campers.

A friend of mine has said the same thing, that the P90s devastate once you learn them. My one problem however, is that I can't seem to learn them

How do you use them?

So I found out the quickest way to level up.

With every assault rifle has a option to use noob tube. I think there are about 6 assault rifles.

Use the tube with some sticky nades, or C4 and a thumper or RPGS. For perks use scvanger, and danger close, 3rd option is whatever. Its cheap but it works for a quick 10,000 points.

You will be hated, cursed at, but ranked 1 almost every game with almost no deaths. Haha, its great.

I guess you use burst shots? Those things fire all over the place if you lay into them.

Right. There is no range. The goal for their use is to make sure you stay in the parts of the map (where most campers lay) that do not require much distance. Short burst with 2 P90's mow through the campers (this is on Hardcore TDM).

The key is map utilization and kit. They are only good on certain maps and you must stay out of the areas with range. For kit use Marathon Pro, Lightweight Pro and steady aim. Along with Claymores and martyrdom for death streak. This is my "kill the campers" "stir up the craybabies" go too kit. I avoid it if I am playing with cool people.

Nope, the patch was intended to balance them out, but err... I'm still being sniped by shotguns :|

Yeah I know it was patched but it appears to be back to its old self somehow, lots are using it again!

There is no mastering required with Akimbo 1887, quite often I am getting killed in stupid impossible ways with them!

I say then "if you can not beat them, join them" That is what I did and found them very fun. Bottom line with them is that you only get them very late in your promotion (level 67 I think) meaning that if you want to use them you have 3 ranks to do it or do not prestige. Most prestige.

A few pointers for making MW2 a better game:

Noobtube! Make it the LAST weapon attachment, not the first! Make something like 150 kills a requirement!

Akimbo G18's gotta go, they are ridiculous, I'd know, I have them on 6 of 7 classes!

Intervention, raise the damage a notch would ya? from 80 to 85 perhaps.

Fix the damn spawn system, seriously, I may not respawn often, but when I respawn into enemy fire I can feel how my blood starts boiling!

Improve the host selection on PC, In a lot of games someone who has a toaster for CPU and a internet connection (including routing) slower than manually sending 1's and 0's down a pipe, only for that host to ragequit a second later and usually I get picked as host, and everyone's happy! (Why didn't it pick the guy with a OC'd Intel Core i7 and 100Mbit fiber and almost flawless peering directly?)

+1, maybe we need to start a petition. Of those, the spawning is the worst. I have literally spawned in the same spot as the enemy and have had an enemy spawn right in front of me. It is the 21st century, you would think the computer could do a quick calculation and spawn you somewhere a: no bullets flying through the air and b: the enemy is looking right at you. I have also noticed with server selection, priority is given to the party players. If I am in a party with 3-4 people, one of us is always the server (usually first guy in indicates server). I think it has too do with a 3-4 player party draws people in instead of arriving to another game.

A few days ago I shot a tube into a spawn point and got 4 kills out of it. 5 secs later I did it again. :D

they should make the 1887's much more innacurate and heavy (so you move slower). Now that is balance.. I mean.. have they not seen the real 1887's? They are huge and unless you are AHHHHNOLD , you can't be running fast with them.

Also things that need to go: Impossible plants on certain maps, such as bombsite A on Estate, the one in the house, come on, the attackers get to spawn 10 miles away, the defenders spawns sometime even in the ****ing house, how the ****?

Yeah I noticed that today, was so annoying to keep spawning at the bottom! B is far easier but A is just a joke!

If that's the case, then bringing back "balance" would also increase their range. I don't even see adding in inaccuracy really affecting it because that range is still going to end up trumping it. I do agree about it needing to slow you down but.. then I remember it's a video game full of retards (majority of the time) so it's not going to matter that much :p

I can't imagine how often people can take a few actual bullets and walk away with their health regenerating ;)

Then what you do is decrease the range... lol.

    • Edifier S3000MKII hi-fi audiophile grade bookshelf speaker is at its lowest price now by Sayan Sen Yesterday we covered a bunch of Dolby Atmos soundbar deals with several ones from Sony, as well as from JBL, Samsung, Polk Audio, and more. You can check them out in this dedicated piece. Those are not audiophile category speakers though as they are built with home theater use in mind. If you are searching for the former then Edifier has its S3000MKII at its lowest price at the moment (purchase link under the specs table down below). This is a two-way bookshelf monitor speaker designed to produce accurate sound. While it may not produce the best high-fidelity audio possible out there, it should still be significantly better than what you will get on soundbars of this price range. As such it will do justice to high-res audio played back through it. The only thing that may feel lacking is sub-bass as Edifier claims the unit can go down to 38 Hz, which should be enough for studio monitor purposes, but not for deep room-shaking rumbling bass. Where this does excel though is in its treble reproduction. With its super-tweeter, it claims to go as high as 40 kHz in the frequency spectrum, which should offer a sense of "air"yness. This is an active speaker which means it packs its own amplfication. It has a top-notch Class D amp that may be able to rival many Class AB designs too in terms of sound reproduction quality. The technical specs of the Edifier S3000MKII are given in the table below: Specification Value RMS Output Power 256W RMS (Treble: 8W × 2, Mid-Low: 120W × 2) Tweeter Driver 107mm × 107mm Planar Magnetic Tweeter Mid-Low Driver 6.5-inch (179mm) Long-Throw Aluminum Diaphragm Driver Frequency Response 38Hz – 40kHz Signal-to-Noise Ratio ≥ 85dB (A) Bluetooth Version Bluetooth 5.0 Bluetooth Codec Qualcomm® aptX™ HD Wireless Speaker Link Proprietary 5.8GHz wireless connection between speakers Supported Hi-Res Audio Hi-Res Audio Certified, up to 24-bit/192kHz Digital Processing XMOS XU216 Digital Signal Processor Audio Inputs Balanced XLR, Optical, Coaxial, USB Type-B, Line In, Bluetooth Input Sensitivity (USB) 400 ± 50mFFs Input Sensitivity (Optical) 400 ± 50mFFs Input Sensitivity (Coaxial) 400 ± 50mFFs Input Sensitivity (Bluetooth) 450 ± 50mFFs Input Sensitivity (Balanced XLR) 1000 ± 50mV Input Sensitivity (Line In) 600 ± 50mV ADC Capability Up to 24-bit/192kHz DSP Capability Up to 24-bit/192kHz DIX Capability Up to 24-bit/216kHz DAC Capability Up to 32-bit/384kHz XMOS Processing Power Up to 2,000 MIPS Edifier S3000MKII Audiophile Active (Powered) Wireless Speakers: $799.99 (Sold by Edifier US, Shipped by Amazon US) If you do not have the kind of budget to spend on the S3000MKII, you can also check out the Edifier R1280Ts which is right now on sale at just $114 (its lowest price in a very long time). • Ignoring the fact that this "colony" kicked the empire of King George's arse during those early years... You are confusing the First Industrial Revolution (which was clearly pulled out of some butt-hurt Brit historian's arse after the fact) with the Second Industrial Revolution (aka now called the Technological Revolution, undoubtedly by that same butt-hurt Brit), which transitioned the world from the UK/UPS Empire to the USA as the world's only superpower. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Industrial_Revolution I hope you realize that I am having big fun here.
    • OpenAI announces GPT‑5.6 Sol, its next-generation flagship model beating Claude Mythos 5 by Pradeep Viswanathan Credit: OpenAI OpenAI today announced a limited preview of its new GPT-5.6 model series, which includes the Sol, Terra, and Luna models targeting different price points. GPT-5.6 Sol is the flagship model targeted at demanding reasoning and agentic workloads. GPT-5.6 Terra is positioned as a balanced model for everyday work, featuring performance competitive with GPT-5.5 while being half the cost. GPT-5.6 Luna is the fastest and most affordable model, delivering strong capability at a lower price point. Unlike previous model releases from OpenAI, GPT-5.6 is starting with a limited preview for a small group of trusted partners due to U.S. government restrictions. As expected, OpenAI previewed its plans and the models' capabilities to the U.S. government ahead of launch, and the government asked OpenAI to limit the first wave of access to select partners. OpenAI also mentioned in the official announcement blog post that it does not believe this type of government access process should become the long-term default. OpenAI highlighted that GPT-5.6 Sol comes with a robust safety stack featuring improved protections for higher-risk activity, sensitive cyber requests, and repeated misuse. The company also spent several weeks pressure-testing the system and hardening it against real-world attacks. On the capability side, as expected, GPT-5.6 Sol is OpenAI’s strongest model yet. It delivers better results in agentic performance across coding, biology, and cybersecurity. On the Terminal-Bench 2.1 benchmark, which tests command-line workflows requiring planning, iteration, and tool coordination, GPT-5.6 Sol sets a new record with a score of 91.9%, beating Anthropic's Claude Mythos 5. Additionally, GPT-5.6 introduces a new "max" reasoning effort for even deeper reasoning. The new "ultra" mode uses subagents to accelerate complex work beyond what a single agent can handle. Pricing starts at $5 per million input tokens and $30 per million output tokens for Sol. Terra costs $2.50 for input and $15 for output, while Luna costs $1 for input and $6 for output. GPT-5.6 comes with more predictable prompt caching, including support for explicit cache breakpoints and a 30-minute minimum cache life. Sol will also launch on Cerebras in July at speeds up to 750 tokens per second for select customers. OpenAI plans to make GPT-5.6 Sol, Terra, and Luna broadly available in ChatGPT, Codex, and the API in the coming weeks.
