Then what you do is decrease the range... lol.

Range was already decreased with the patch that was put out week of Christmas. Too many people complained about Akimbo 1887s. It was impossible to take over anyone that had those in their class alongside marathon and lightweight. It was just trouble waiting to happen.

I only brought that up teasingly since you wanted to make it more realistic ((in)accuracy / weight). It sounds great in theory but in game it's the worst idea ever.

It does sound great in theory, IF IW does implment this.. people are going to complain and say how crappy the gun is. Good for others, it's just not for them. Again, you can please everyone.

Woo hoo! I'm back at school now which means I'm not on a slow connection anymore. Anybody up for some Domination?

damn dude.. you just missed me. add me on xbl and if you're on tommorow I'm game.

Tried playing on the 360 today.

1st game had 3 host changes. Team got beat by triple.

2nd game had 2 host changes.

3rd game had horrible lag and no host changes. Plus I got killed in respond killed by a chopper gunner 5 times in a row.

I quit after that.

The kill streaks are cool but now they are just getting in the way of the game. They should not be so frequent IMO. It promotes camping. It should of sent something like every 100 kills you get a harrier. Every 500 kills a ac130 etc etc.

HUH?!

Its just a example. People camp to get streaks which is obvious. Even on objective maps.

You don't have to "camp" to get high killstreaks. It's called tactics. I've gotten high killstreaks without having to "camp" (which by general gaming definition is sitting crouched/laying somewhere and waiting for people to come by.) You just a.) need to play with non-idiots (aka randoms), b.) be smart and don't die.

And if I'm hanging back it's by no means camping. It just means I'm not going to rush out in the open when I've got a killstreak open. If I don't need to die, I'm not going to die. Play smart, not stupid.

There is nothing wrong with the kill streaks nor is it "getting in the way of the game." My advice to you would be to press the back button more often to look at the scoreboard and try to kill those getting close to kill streaks and pay attention more often.

That said, you should definitely equip either the AT4-HS or Stinger as your secondary weapon to take down chopper gunners, helicopters, AC-130's and so forth. You can take down a chopper gunner in two shots, period with the Stinger (one for the flare, two for the take down). Now with the AT4-HS this will vary, sometimes can take it down in one shot depending where from. I wouldn't suggest the Javelin as it takes too long to lock on, need to be in clear area to shoot it off, probably will get shot before you shoot it and so forth.

Then also try to play with friends or make friends with those that are "good" and play with them. It is more fun and easier playing with someone you know or that is good then alone. I play in full party's all the time of 6-9 people.

People don't need to camp to get killstreaks, myself and others I play with you will find do not camp 85% of the time. Those rare occasions will most likely not be considered camping and/or "turtling". Too many people over use the word "camping" today too and don't understand the difference between that and not.

That is horrible! Even on my terrible connection at home I never had anything that bad. Thankfully now I'm back on campus and get to have a full bar connection all the time now! :D

So..played with a hacker that went 111-1 in CTF today. Funny thing is, he got the 1 death from being surrounded by his own team-mates, all of which including the hacker got hit by a predator missile

Got some great rounds in yesterday, got some pics. Now I have the disc in my drive and can't get it out. 2 red lights. Grr.

With the 41 kill streak, I got my killstreaks (Care Package, Harrier, AC130). Used the AC130, used the Harrier, used the Care Package, got another AC130. Hell of a round. On the second one, I was nearly at Tac Nuke. 4 kills in it. I should not play TDM because it won't give me enough time.

I still haven't witnessed a nuke, however I do usually play Team Deathmatch Express so there isn't enough time!

You should play Free For All its full of boosters and cheaters killing eachother to get nukes, highly annoying

I'm just about to prestidge for my third time and finally decided I should try this nuke business. I never messed with it before because I might only go on a 25+ once or twice a day. Regardless I put it on as my kill streak yesterday and got my 25th kill on Wasteland when the score (in Domination) was 199 to 131. Talk about a close call...

So, I decided to see what all the hype was about and got the PC version. I haven't played an FPS since GOLDENEYE 64! I really don't like shooting games, but I saw someone post a link here on Neowin to "Battlefield Heroes", a free MMO third person shooter, got hooked, and decided to go to something "better".

I played about 5 hours worth of campaign on the "regular" difficulty and I SUCK at it. It's so fast paced and chaotic, I don't like it. I appreciate the stealthy level(s) so far, but that's about it. It's like an actual war zone... I can honestly say that I prefer Battlefield Heroes over this...

That said, multiplayer is okay... I'm just not good at it yet. Question - How do I enter the vehicles? I see civilian cars, trucks, tanks, missile launchers, etc... But I can't use them? There's gotta be a way, 'cause every match those stupid harriers come and bomb everyone. And occasionally, helicopters.

How many tactical nukes have people had then? Anyone got that spinning emblem yet? I'm on 6 at the moment.

I have had around 48 of them. But unlike some people I know who should not go for them, I rarely ever go for them. I will only sometimes load those killstreaks. I do not keep an exact count like people do in their profiles nor will I ever do that. The people I constantly play with know how many my bro and I get and it really does not matter after that. Tactical Nukes are easy to get (without camping) especially against dumb players aka those who can not shoot down helicopters (use a Stinger or AT4-HS).

I am totally against the killstreaks after like 7 kills. Once the Harrier starts, the fun in the game drops to almost 0.

You really need to use an a Stinger or AT4-HS as your secondary, then shoot a few shots (you or anyone else, Stopping Power Pro with help) into the harrier/whichever afterwards unless it is obviously a AC-130.

    • NASA: This asteroid may not kill us but it probably won't be far off either by Sayan Sen Image by Zelch Csaba via Pexels New observations by NASA's James Webb Space Telescope have eliminated the last remaining impact threat posed by asteroid 2024 YR4, ruling out the possibility that the near-Earth object could strike the Moon in December 2032. NASA said observations collected by Webb on February 18 and 26, 2026, enabled scientists to refine the asteroid's orbit enough to "rule out a chance of lunar impact on Dec. 22, 2032." Instead, asteroid 2024 YR4 is now expected to pass the Moon at a distance of about 13,200 miles (21,200 km). The agency stressed that the update "reflects improved precision in our understanding of where the asteroid is expected to be in 2032 rather than a shift in its orbital path." The announcement closes a remarkable chapter in planetary defence that began in late 2024, when the approximately 60-metre-wide asteroid briefly became the most closely watched near-Earth object in the world. Discovered on December 27, 2024, by the ATLAS telescope in Chile, 2024 YR4 initially appeared to have a small chance of colliding with Earth on December 22, 2032. As astronomers gathered more observations, the impact probability briefly climbed to around 3%—the highest ever recorded for an asteroid of its size—before steadily falling as its orbit became better understood. By early 2025, international observations had ruled out any significant risk to Earth. However, astronomers were left with another possibility: a roughly 4% chance that the asteroid could instead strike the Moon. "The probability that asteroid 2024 YR4 will strike the Moon on 22 December 2032 is now approximately 4%," the European Space Agency (ESA) had said last year, noting that "there is a 96% chance that the asteroid will not impact the Moon." ESA said such an impact, while unlikely, would have presented an extraordinary scientific opportunity. "It is a very rare event for an asteroid this large to impact the Moon – and it is rarer still that we know about it in advance. The impact would likely be visible from Earth, and so scientists will be very excited by the prospect of observing and analysing it," said Richard Moissl, Head of ESA's Planetary Defence Office. "It would certainly leave a new crater on the surface. However, we wouldn't be able to accurately predict in advance how much material would be thrown into space, or whether any would reach Earth," he added. The asteroid also exposed an important blind spot in planetary defence. Because 2024 YR4 approached Earth from the direction of the Sun, it remained hidden from ground-based telescopes until after its closest approach. "We looked into how Neomir would have performed in this situation, and the simulations surprised even us," Moissl said. "Neomir would have detected asteroid 2024 YR4 about a month earlier than ground-based telescopes did. This would have given astronomers more time to study the asteroid's trajectory and allowed them to much sooner rule out any chance of Earth impact in 2032." He added, "As an infrared telescope, like Webb, Neomir would have also immediately given us a much better estimate for the asteroid's size, which is very important for assessing the significance of the hazard." The latest NASA observations underscore the value of space-based infrared telescopes in tracking faint asteroids. According to NASA, Webb made "among the faintest ever observations of an asteroid," extending the object's observational record by nearly eight months at a time when it had become too faint for other telescopes. That additional data allowed scientists to eliminate the remaining uncertainty surrounding its 2032 flyby. Although asteroid 2024 YR4 is now confirmed to pose no threat to either Earth or the Moon, scientists say its discovery remains one of the most significant real-world tests of the international planetary defence system, demonstrating how continued observations can rapidly transform an object once considered hazardous into one whose future path is known with high confidence.
