I am totally against the killstreaks after like 7 kills. Once the Harrier starts, the fun in the game drops to almost 0.

Cold blooded. Makes pretty much all kill streaks useless. Of course I play Hardcore and most everyone uses this perk. Makes it very hard to get any kills with the kill streaks.

That said, multiplayer is okay... I'm just not good at it yet. Question - How do I enter the vehicles? I see civilian cars, trucks, tanks, missile launchers, etc... But I can't use them? There's gotta be a way, 'cause every match those stupid harriers come and bomb everyone. And occasionally, helicopters.

Vehicles are unusable and are just prop. You can only use some of them in campaign when you're specifically required to go into them.

The only two that you control for x amount of minutes (or until you get shot down) are the AC-130 and the Chopper Gunner. What you do is you activate your killstreak and you'll open your "laptop" and from there is how you control the AC-130 or Gunner. You can still be killed as enemies will see you with a laptop out so it's best to kinda hide while you're doing this if you don't want to die. But from either of these you can specifically aim on enemies. It takes awhile to perfect but you can essentially poop all over teams with either of these.

You also control predator missiles but this is rather quick so once you launch it you have to aim it and it's only once.

Otherwise harriers, air strikes, stealth bombers and pavelows are not controllable; You can only select the area where you want it to be aimed on and from there it's just sheer luck. Always helps if you ask your team to launch out UAV so you can just ensure that you're putting it up where you'll get kills and not miss and waste a killstreak.

If you don't want to use a stinger as your secondary, just do what I do. If you get killed by any kind of air attack, switch classes and shoot it down. Simple as that.

Oh, I see. Thanks for the explanation! Kinda' disappointing that they're just there for props, but I guess there's no room for vehicles since it's so fast paced...

Would have been nice, though.

You're welcome :)

Well, Treyarch has really been the only one to toss in "vehicles." COD3 and COD:WaW. COD, COD2 & COD4 never had vehicles in it. Truthfully I think this kinda game doesn't really need it and in WaW.. the tanks were HORRIBLE and really ruined the game for me.

Ah, yeah I think I just unlocked it.

It just sucks seeing the one idiot stack up to 30 kills pretty much instantly.

ANOTHER GLITCH!

Modern Warfare 2 Ice Skating Glitch Is The New Infection

Haven't had enough glitches in your Modern Warfare 2 matches? Well your in luck! If autoaim and chopper gunner ammo wasn't enough for you, now you can add ice skating to the mix. The following video shows the super sprint, which is 4x the normal sprint speed and no friction glitch aka ice skating. We would rant on how stupid these glitches are getting but it seems when we do, more pop up.

i have had a few of them matches, i had a few when the game was first released, They have been around for a while now, They are fun, A little overwhelming at first but imagine that speed with lightweight + marathon, You break the sound barrier :p

If you guys find someone running with Akimbo shottys, set up a class with a throwing knife and run around with it aiming. As soon as you see the bugger, let it fly. Usually theyre running directly at you so it's a good chance you'll get them. Generally works for anyone with Lightweight/Marathon/Commando setup.

How are people putting the "X" "A' etc buttons in the name now?

LOL @ the ice skating glitch. I have not even hear of the autoaim or chopper gunner ammo yet.

These are people that are modding their gamertags display when in the MW2 lobby. Their gamertag are the same but when you see it in lobby and game, it's got various buttons in it.

As far as the new glitches, you won't come across it as often as the private match glitch and javelin glitch. This has been pretty rare so far.

Either it has a low success rate or people just don't want to deal with the ridiculous process of modding/glitching to accomplish it.

Either way, while it sucks that all this **** is temporarily ruining it, IW is still staying on top of it to send out patches.

I am almost ready to give up on the game! The matchmaking is a piece of sh*t. I am always thrown in a game either already started half-way through with my team losing or I am set up with crappy team mates. There are people that I play...when I get near them I lag and they knife me or they knife me through a wall or something. POS game....MW was a lot better and more balanced.

I know that BF:BC2 will be A LOT better than this...just like how all the other BF's were great. Until it's released though...I am going back to playing MW on the PC.

That's what happens when you go into games alone. A lot of times people will just quit a game they're losing, so you'll more than likely get put into that losing team since the winning team will, majority of the time, all of their players.

All that you can do for that is to find a group of friends to play with all the time. I play with my boyfriend, his brother and other guys that live around us ALL the time. I *never* have to worry about going into Mercenary TDM or any other playlist with randoms... Besides, it's much more fun playing with people you know, winning, etc. Better teamwork too.

As far as the lag goes, I read a few weeks back about knife kills.. That usually a knife kill will register much faster than a basic weapon kill as it takes less time for that knife to "travel" versus your bursts of bullets. Which is why when a knife is against you, a lot of the times you might notice you die even though you started to hit him first.

It sucks but no game will be 100% perfect when you're not on LAN and have to deal with ALL sorts of internet connections, locations, hardware, etc.

There is no excuse for this and so many other issues, you don't have to be on a lan to get a perfectly playable connection long as you pick your peers well

This is actually getting ridiculous now. IW really dropped the ball on this one (Y)

This will shortly be fixed, Robert "fourzerotwo" Bowling tweeted about it almost 12 hours ago.

Another #MW2 playlist update to prevent the spread of the "ice skating" / speed hack. Will prevent matchmaking into modded games.

The thing about that, that upsets me is if I leave a match for whatever reason, it generally throws me back into the same match. I know its possible maybe you quit by accident and want back in but it should detect that if I left the same match twice then to not put me back in it.

You will never get the same amazing LAN gameplay through other plays internet connections. Have you ever played LAN before? It's a HUGE difference.

There will NEVER be 100%-all-the-time perfect internet connections between ALL players. There will ALWAYS be some kind of lag in part, no matter what.

This is what happens when a player is the host. Anyone with a modded Xbox 360 now has access to game files and can modify them. Each time IW shores up a hole, another will spring forward. I have never experienced this kind of glitching before in any Xbox360 game. The worse someone could do before was map glitches. When the servers were controlled, hacking and glitching were almost non-existent.

The issue is the "host migration" . Before, once I would find a good stand alone server (COD4 MW) I could just stay there. Now, you may have a good host for a few games but eventually it will migrate and now your game is crap. I spend more time hunting down good games then playing. I have so many losses because I will leave a game once it starts to lag which seems to be all the time now.

Would dedicated servers solve these "mod" problems on the 360?

I think it will. It will also solve the lag issues. Without dedicated servers, you can never find a good server. For a few games the "host" may be good for you but the game will eventually migrate or the host will leave. Now it is a gamble whether or not the new host will be good. Also, with dedicate servers, players do not have access to the game files. I do not fully understand how the host migration works but this is the first game I have ever played like this and it is the first game on the 360 I have ever seen hacked up and glitched up like this so the two have to be related. COD 2, COD 4 MW and World at War all had dedicated servers. The most you see in those games are map glitching, geometry error stuff. Remember if there is a way, hackers will find it. They do it for fun for themselves and to throw the big middle finger at the "man". They do not care if it ruins everyone's game.

COD4, W@W and Halo3 use the same player as host system, don't they? What did they do to MW2 to make it worse?

So I bought the game right after it came out, but got so ****ed off with it after the first 3 days I haven't even played it.

I honestly wonder what the trade in value is on it. I really want to just trade it in and get something else.

    • NASA: This asteroid may not kill us but it probably won't be far off either by Sayan Sen Image by Zelch Csaba via Pexels New observations by NASA's James Webb Space Telescope have eliminated the last remaining impact threat posed by asteroid 2024 YR4, ruling out the possibility that the near-Earth object could strike the Moon in December 2032. NASA said observations collected by Webb on February 18 and 26, 2026, enabled scientists to refine the asteroid's orbit enough to "rule out a chance of lunar impact on Dec. 22, 2032." Instead, asteroid 2024 YR4 is now expected to pass the Moon at a distance of about 13,200 miles (21,200 km). The agency stressed that the update "reflects improved precision in our understanding of where the asteroid is expected to be in 2032 rather than a shift in its orbital path." The announcement closes a remarkable chapter in planetary defence that began in late 2024, when the approximately 60-metre-wide asteroid briefly became the most closely watched near-Earth object in the world. Discovered on December 27, 2024, by the ATLAS telescope in Chile, 2024 YR4 initially appeared to have a small chance of colliding with Earth on December 22, 2032. As astronomers gathered more observations, the impact probability briefly climbed to around 3%—the highest ever recorded for an asteroid of its size—before steadily falling as its orbit became better understood. By early 2025, international observations had ruled out any significant risk to Earth. However, astronomers were left with another possibility: a roughly 4% chance that the asteroid could instead strike the Moon. "The probability that asteroid 2024 YR4 will strike the Moon on 22 December 2032 is now approximately 4%," the European Space Agency (ESA) had said last year, noting that "there is a 96% chance that the asteroid will not impact the Moon." ESA said such an impact, while unlikely, would have presented an extraordinary scientific opportunity. "It is a very rare event for an asteroid this large to impact the Moon – and it is rarer still that we know about it in advance. The impact would likely be visible from Earth, and so scientists will be very excited by the prospect of observing and analysing it," said Richard Moissl, Head of ESA's Planetary Defence Office. "It would certainly leave a new crater on the surface. However, we wouldn't be able to accurately predict in advance how much material would be thrown into space, or whether any would reach Earth," he added. The asteroid also exposed an important blind spot in planetary defence. Because 2024 YR4 approached Earth from the direction of the Sun, it remained hidden from ground-based telescopes until after its closest approach. "We looked into how Neomir would have performed in this situation, and the simulations surprised even us," Moissl said. "Neomir would have detected asteroid 2024 YR4 about a month earlier than ground-based telescopes did. This would have given astronomers more time to study the asteroid's trajectory and allowed them to much sooner rule out any chance of Earth impact in 2032." He added, "As an infrared telescope, like Webb, Neomir would have also immediately given us a much better estimate for the asteroid's size, which is very important for assessing the significance of the hazard." The latest NASA observations underscore the value of space-based infrared telescopes in tracking faint asteroids. According to NASA, Webb made "among the faintest ever observations of an asteroid," extending the object's observational record by nearly eight months at a time when it had become too faint for other telescopes. That additional data allowed scientists to eliminate the remaining uncertainty surrounding its 2032 flyby. Although asteroid 2024 YR4 is now confirmed to pose no threat to either Earth or the Moon, scientists say its discovery remains one of the most significant real-world tests of the international planetary defence system, demonstrating how continued observations can rapidly transform an object once considered hazardous into one whose future path is known with high confidence. • Yup. Google is just scraping the entire internet for their own ad profits without sharing revenue with the sources. It's obviously stealing, but since these sites depend upon Google's search scraps to survive... As for me, I just stopped using Google for anything except Reddit searches. If Reddit's own search wasn't complete crapola, I'd never use Google search again.
    • I had a feeling this was coming. Picked up my first Mac ever last Saturday. Glad I did.
