[Official] Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Recommended Posts

So I bought the game right after it came out, but got so ****ed off with it after the first 3 days I haven't even played it.

I honestly wonder what the trade in value is on it. I really want to just trade it in and get something else.

$35 bucks at amazon.

I just sent them l4d2.

COD4, W@W and Halo3 use the same player as host system, don't they? What did they do to MW2 to make it worse?

Now it has host migration. Though it seems like a good idea, I would rather have the game end then turn to crap when the host quits and forces me to quit taking a loss. Also, like I said, im not sure how the host migration thing works but this is the first 360 title that has had this much hacking and glitching. The other titles never had this. It has to be related to the host migration, it is the only real change. Im not sure.

This is one thing I do not understand. I've played Halo 3 and I've seen host quit out but the game NEVER just dropped connection and gave losses.

What was so hard about IW getting something decent implemented? Almost 80% of the time host migration doesn't work and this is when host hasn't even quit. It just drops us all back to lobby... It's really sad honestly.

It HAS felt somewhat better the past few days that I've actually been playing but.. Is it really that hard to ensure that when host quits (dashboards mainly) that the entire game isn't dropped?

I think if MW2 had a beta a lot of the issues right now would have been taken care of prior to the game launching. I mean how long did COD4 take before it was modded? Like about a year'ish? The first month MW2 was out there were already issues.

IDGI :|

I had host migration issues in Halo3, granted not as much as MW2. But yea, it's strange that they've made it this bad, hopefully they're hard at work on a big update.

I oddly didn't have too much trouble the years I played it. I only ever had issues when morons were bridging host otherwise it was okay for the most part. Nothing like the daily issues I have in MW2 though. :\

The thing about that, that upsets me is if I leave a match for whatever reason, it generally throws me back into the same match. I know its possible maybe you quit by accident and want back in but it should detect that if I left the same match twice then to not put me back in it.

You are searching too fast, hold off search for at least 30 seconds-1 minute and not 1 second after. While this will not always put you back in the same match right away it usually does. Waiting will at least help prevent you from getting put back in the same match, especially if that 1 slot (or more) has been filled since you left.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare had this much hacking, not at first but possibly somewhere around a year and half later after its release. Some of this was fixed but there is still stuff that never was and actually happened in MW2 (like the rock glitches). A beta was absolutely necessary this time again as they did in MW and also CODWAW by Treyarch. By the way, it's not related to host migration.

I just sold my copy on ebay for 45 bucks.

HELL YES!

Seriously? DAMN, I think I need to get mine up on EBay then, that would be a fantastic deal for sure.

HELL YES!

I'd buy it again, for $60. I just haven't come across all of these issues everyone else is complaining about; at least not enough to make the game any less enjoyable, for me.

Are you missing it, yet?

I'm surprised at how many of you are THAT letdown by the game. I mean, sure it didn't get close to the hype, but it was still a good game, IMO. I'm surprised to see this reaction to MW2 when everyone ate up Halo 3, and I'd say that was more of a letdown, personally (but, again, still a good game).

Personally the only let down for me was campaign itself but overall I enjoy the game enough that I'm on it all the time. Most games I play are for multiplayer anyway and not so much for campaign, so truthfully campaign being less than stellar isn't that much of a worry to me.

I feel the exact same way. I mean Halo 3's multiplayer was one of the biggest disappointment's for me. The maps from Halo 2 to Halo 3 grew size wise tremendously and slowed the action down in so many ways unfortunately (for me at least).

Looks like MW2 finally hit the big one-billion.

As for my impressions on the game, I've only clocked five hours so far, so it's way too early to tell. I'm getting destroyed in pretty much every game I play (I think my best kill-death spread has been a laughable +12), but I'm pretty bad at FPS games in general (hence why I like games like TF2, where I can do more than absorb bullets for my teammates). It sucks that people are having so many problems with it though. Maybe next time they'll actually do an open beta.

I just can't sit and play online multiplayer like I could with all of the call of duty games. It's ridiculous, especially on PS3 from what I've seen, so much glitching and stuff. Weapons seem unpredictable and it's not fun anymore :/

They should match you with people your own level, thats a definite. Sick of playing people who are prestige level >9000 with gimped out weapons. Whil eI'm stuck at level 41, impossible to get enough points to level up.

Well I personally was never was into Halo 3, thought that was nothing but hype, and not really sure what one has to do with the other, I guess because they are both huge MP games on the 360, but yeah I personally never ate up Halo 3.

And throughout this thread I have said why I am disappointed with the game, but I can say it one more time.

I feel it is very poorly balanced. Never in the history of me playing MP FPS, which goes back a decent amount when including my PC gaming, have a I felt a game was so poorly balanced and ranking up made such a difference. I also feel the heartbeat sensor, thermal sensor, and riot shield should have never, ever been included. If you get rid of these three things, I think right there that would have been a huge step in the right direction.

I did not even touch the game for weeks while all of the glitches were going on. It just really sucked not knowing if you were indeed going to end up in a match that was glitched, and I personally just needed to see it two times to just say screw it.

A HUGE thing you have to keep in mind with me is my gaming time is extremely limited. On a extremly good week, I maybe get to put in 12 hours total for a whole week. In reality it is more like 6-8 hours a week, and most of that is me being able to sneak some time in, an hour here and hour there. Since it was the holidays, I was definitely playing a bit more than usual as I had time off, but still, when I look at people on my friends list, some people have been playing the MP game alone for upwards of 5 DAYS now. Me? I just got over 24 hours last night.

So because I do not get to play as much as others, things like balance and if the game run right are absolutely imperative to me, as if not I am just wasting my time when I could have played something else, and I decided to do just that.

Funny thing is I gave it another chance this past week for the first time since I got my Wii (December 21st), and now that I do not care about anything I did enjoy myself more, and I figured if you cannot beat them join them so I enabled the Thermal Sensor and I am getting way more kills (which right there to me is a huge issue nothing should give you way more kills IMO), but the truth is I could never touch it again and be absolutely 110% fine with that fact. It is not a horrible game by any means, but it just is not a very good game either.

Add commando and dual shotguns to that list, or at least Akimbo 1887s. I got sniped with them yesterday night, big "Nerfed? Lies" moment for me there. I must admit that there was a time when I would stick on commando pro + running perks and run around skidrow tactical knifing everything in sight, but I don't bother anymore...it's no fun for people.

I got so angry last night, some dude got me with a shotty on Invasion, then kept moving a sitting in different inside areas. After the 2nd time I gave up on him, but wherever it spawned me, he was round the corner (different buildings, etc). Got me about 4 times in the end...RAGE.

I honestly forgot them, but I also HATE the dual shotguns. Definitely add them to the list. (Y)

    • Microsoft's fast coding model MAI-Code-1-Flash comes to Copilot Business and Enterprise by Karthik Mudaliar Microsoft’s recently announced MAI-Code-1-Flash model is now generally available to GitHub Copilot Business and Copilot Enterprise customers. With this support, organizations can have more centralized policy controls and billing while finally being able to use Microsoft’s lightweight, first-party coding model. According to GitHub’s announcement, Business and Enterprise plan administrators must enable the MAI-Code-1-Flash policy in Copilot settings before developers can access the model. Microsoft says that MAI-Code-1-Flash is for fast, iterative coding work rather than the most demanding architectural or debugging tasks. GitHub’s official model comparison page says that the model is great for "general-purpose coding and writing," while it excels at fast, accurate code completions and explanations Microsoft introduced MAI-Code-1-Flash on June 2 as part of a broader collection of internally developed MAI models. GitHub subsequently expanded support to Copilot CLI, the Copilot cloud agent, GitHub.com chat, GitHub Mobile, Visual Studio, JetBrains IDEs, Eclipse, and Xcode, but said support for managed Business and Enterprise customers was still on the way. In Microsoft’s own benchmark testing, MAI-Code-1-Flash scored 51.2% on SWE-Bench Pro, compared with 35.2% for Anthropic’s Claude Haiku 4.5. Microsoft also claimed that the model used up to 60% fewer tokens on SWE-Bench Verified. Do note that these are vendor-run results rather than independent measurements. The model is billed at provider list pricing under GitHub’s usage-based system. GitHub currently lists MAI-Code-1-Flash at $0.75 per million input tokens, $0.075 per million cached input tokens, and $4.50 per million output tokens. For organizations, the main incentive to use MAI-Code-1-Flash is likely to be efficiency rather than maximum capability. A smaller model that responds quickly and limits unnecessary output is quite useful for repetitive agent tasks at scale, especially after GitHub Copilot’s move toward usage-based billing. The "Flash" model is recommended for fast work and not necessarily for huge repositories with loads of context. It's better if teams compare their output with other larger models, especially if they're working on security-sensitive changes and complex, multi-file work.
    • yes AND no the "original" or plain/normal Optiplex 7010 won't be getting any more new firmware updates BUT the Optiplex SFF/SFF Plus {small form factor}, Micro/Micro Plus & Tower/Tower Plus 7010 editions DO get new updates such as this new one   and here are similar guides from the Dell web site for Dell systems: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000390990/secure-boot-transition-faq https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000347876/microsoft-2011-secure-boot-certificate-expiration
