What's next with MSN Messenger 6?

What is that Emoticon with the percent sign supposed to be? (%)

It looks like someone with really big hooters! (sorry if that offends anyone!)

The (%) smiley has been in Messenger for ages, although it is "hidden".

Those are handcuffs, not hooters. :p :p :p

nathanintu is right, I'm having european ads

I went in to my Passport settings and changed my location to the US. and the ads are still Australian, on any other version of messenger the ads would US and have the full set of tabs.

Strange. would be nice if nineMSN were to add some more tabs.

Messenger tries to access this link when i sign in, http://appdirectory.messenger.msn-int.com/...spx?L=en-au&k=0 ... if i try that link in explorer it will not show any page, but if i change au to us, it will.. I believe the lunch features will work if I find some way to change what link msn visit from au to us... any good hackers out there? please ;)

Hey, those are the games. This is a great idea (until a new beta is out).

Go go go!

To get Tic-Tac-Toe working, add en-us to your Internet Explorer language settings and put it up the top of the list. I haven't tested it, but going on what everyone is saying, that should be it.

doesnt work for me...now launch site show site is temporarily down instead of the old red one...

nope dont work :(

I just registered a new Hotmail account with the United States as my location and can now access the games (well, some of them, as earlier stated).

My other Hotmail (actually, MSN) account was originally configured for Canada, and I had switched it to US, but could still not access them.

Hope this helps...

here it is how to make the launch site work

found this at mess.be

"A lot of people are having difficulties using the "Launch Site" button in the leaked MSN 6 beta. This is caused because MSN wants them directed to their own foreign site. And the Launch Site Function is only working for US based MSN requests. But here is how to fool it.

1. Close your MSN messenger

2. Go to passport.net and log in to change your details

3. Go live in the US (well, virtually)

4. Move to the state of New York

5. And to make sure you virtually live there, your postal zip would be 10314 (NY City) in this case.

6. Log on to your MSN, and you should see some new tabs as well.

Note: It can take a while before your passport gets updated, try login on with multiple accounts to prevent caching."

Now if you have been logged in using a different regional settings in passport.net you?ll need to delete the cahe or config file which is found at

C:\Documents and Settings\(computer username)\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN Messenger\(your email) and delete the file named ConfigCache.Xml and ur done now the next time you login you?ll be able to use launch site and new tabs

i've found another way for making aplication launcher work you'll just have to edit that xml file C:\Documents and Settings\(computer username)\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN Messenger\(your email)\ConfigCache.Xml

below is a non US xml code

the things you?ll have to change will be

<Config>

<ExpiresInDays>130</ExpiresInDays> 'make this whatever number of days you like, this is the days until this file will be refreshed from passport.net, so i recommend you to make it somewhat high so the trick will last longer.

</Config>

'this will tell msn messenger which are the pages it must look for the application launcher

*NOTE im not responsible for what this can do to your computer. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

If you happen to screw sumthin just delete this file and next time you sign in messenger will get a new one.
