The Walking Dead (Season 2)

I'd be happy with the drama aspect when someone pops a bullet through shaven head woman's head.

Do you honestly believe a woman like her would have acted any differently in real life? She lost her child and the last person to see her child was the same guy who left her alone. We the viewers know why he did it. And we know that he told her to stay there unless he took too long. But the mother wasn't there and all she had was her imagination.

Anyway, I agree whole heartedly that the people do some seriously stupid stuff. Like the black guy cutting his arm, the little girl making noise, the mother being unable to control her own whimpering, the blond chick making noise in the bathroom... It seems the writers rely too much of stupid characters rather than relying on bad luck, coincidence, and other plot drivers that could create a greater sense of stress rather than creating a sense of fury in the viewers.

Raise your hand if you were ****ed when the guy opened up the jug of water and basically let it flow freely on his face as if it were a shower. What kind of ******* does that when drinking water is extremely scarce and a river is within walking distance?

This made me so mad how ****ing stupid can you really be!! That jug probably would have lasted 2 days if they all drank from it. Might not sound like much, but in the situation they are in water is like gold.

Pretty sure the truck was loaded. One jug wasted isn't gonna make or break their survival

In their situation, they need to be thinking about long-term survival. I certainly wouldn't waste all that clean water. It's not like you could go to a river a drink from it without getting sick. If he needed a shower, he could bathe himself in unclean water. He didn't need to waste all that safe drinking water.

I didn't like the Gerber product placement, 90% of their products have unlisted mystery steel that is usually Chinese in origin.

Most people just blindly buy it for the Gerber brand name, but the company itself has greatly changed from solid USA made products to mostly outsourced foreign ones.

The way the blonde was obsessed with fixing the gun just rubbed me the wrong way. All she had to do was sit still for 5 min and let the pack pass. She obviously didnt have a clue in how to fix it so why not JUST SIT STILL!!

She deserved to die. The guy on top of the camper should of just waved at her instead of giving her a screwdriver.

Stupid doesnt make it more interesting.

It was a highly stressful situation. And when you're stressed out, you don't think straight. I think the way she behaved was realistic. It's not like she used to be a soldier with training on how to assemble/disassemble a weapon as well as use it.

So if someone outside would kill you if you made the slightest noise, you would decide to try your luck at putting a gun together instead of letting them just pass by? The zombie is mindless but would go all out to kill you if he knows your there. MMM stay quite or take my chances. Ya seems reasonable.

The best thing would've been to stay quiet, yes... but it's a TV show. She messed up and made a sound because that's more dramatic than simply staying quiet and waiting for the zombie to leave. I could argue that she had an opportunity to close the RV's door which would've prevented the zombie from coming inside. It would've been far less scary though.

I got the impression they weren't aware of the river at first.

They weren't but taking a shower should be the last thing on their minds. If I was in their position, I'd be worrying about other things like food, water, and ammunition.

I have never been so mad at a TV shows characters as I was watching this 1st episode of Season 02. Just incredibly stupid decision after incredibly stupid decision. If the whole point of the show is they are all a bunch of people no longer capable of rationale thought, they got that point across.

That is all I'm saying. :D

You can already see the writing and storytelling slipping just from this first episode. 8(

Dumping the two key creative producers/writers was clearly a HUGE mistake by AMC.

I didn't notice a slip. It's just my opinion, but I think the series is still in good hands. The first episode of the second season is the last one Frank Darabont will exec-produce, and it was co-written by the writer of the comic series. It looks like many of the directors and writers from the first season will be returning with some new blood throw in there.

LOL! Have you read the comic? There have been many a times where I'm sitting there thinking, "Why do you think you're safe where you are? You're acting stupid OMG LOOK BEHIND YOU!" *zombie food*

Didn't hook me that well. Then again i didn't expect it to based on the promos, unfortunately. I do think/hope it'll get better though. I don't mind there being a lot of drama (there was plenty in S1 and S1 was excellent), but the drama in S2E1 was mostly crap. Probably would've been better if they hadn't drawn it out to 90 minutes.

Here's a perfect example of how they could have written some of those scenes better. Instead of making the kid stupid by making noise, they could have had one of the zombies trip and fall over. I mean that would be stressful but not at the expense of making the kid out to be a complete moron. Right?

With the black dude they could have had a situation where there was a zombie they didn't see before that only had half his body and one arm that tripped him up, causing him to fall over and get injured. Instead he puts all his weight on his arm against a sharp piece of metal.

Then they could have left the blond girl scene alone because 1 stupid person out of 3 is much less infuriating.

I never said the character wasn't realistic, I still find her annoying. She's consistently over emotional, especially at the most annoying times. Zombies are passing by, a kid around 10 years old another that's a young teen, as well as everyone else in the group can stay perfectly quiet but she has to have another member cover her mouth to stop her from screaming. I remember countless annoying moments with her from the last season too.

Oh and by the way, I can perfectly understand the characters stance on her missing daughter, my comment is about practically everything else relating to that character except for that single aspect of her.

    • Who is paying for this 30x scale-up? Its sounds expensive.
    • Millions of users to benefit from Windows 11's new performance boost on Adobe Photoshop by Sayan Sen Despite the advent of AI-generated imagery, Adobe's Photoshop remains one of the most popular tools on this planet. Adobe does not have a publicly reported total user count but it's probably not wrong to assume there are millions. As of 2025, Adobe Creative Cloud has had approximately 41 million paid subscribers, many of whom likely use Photoshop. In addition, more than 166,000 companies worldwide are apparently also using the app. These figures are according to a very recent report by SQ Magazine. Out of them, it is fair to assume that many are probably running Windows. As such, there is good news for these users as Microsoft has announced Photoshop is getting a big 20% performance boost on x86-64 (AMD64) systems and a 13% bump-up on Arm devices. This is definitely great news for them as many have complained about the slow performance and general sluggishness of Photoshop on Windows 11 ever since the advent of the latter back in 2021. If you are wondering how Microsoft managed to do this, the answer lies in a combination of compiler-level optimizations and a technology called Sample Profile Guided Optimization (SPGO). According to Microsoft, Adobe worked closely with the company’s Visual C++ team and adopted the latest MSVC toolchain enhancements together with SPGO to squeeze more performance out of Photoshop’s CPU-bound workloads. Unlike traditional Profile Guided Optimization (PGO), which requires developers to create special instrumented builds and run lengthy training workloads, SPGO gathers performance data directly from optimized release binaries. This means Adobe could collect real-world usage information which gives a major advantage to this technique, as companies could leverage data collected from actual customer workloads rather than only relying on synthetic benchmark runs. In theory, this should allow optimizations to better reflect how users interact with software in the real world. Thanks to this, there are improvements to code layout, function inlining, hot-and-cold code separation, and other low-level tweaks that help processors execute instructions more efficiently. Essentially the compiler is better able to identify “hot” code paths, those which are most frequently executed, and optimize them accordingly.
    • "The 2TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe SSD hits lowest price in over three months¨ I'd prefer to see the lowest price in over a year
    • Glad these prices are starting to come down, but that is still crazy. I bought the 2TB 9100 Pro (slightly more expensive version with PCIe 5.0) last year for $240.
    • The 2TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe SSD hits lowest price in over three months by Sayan Sen Yesterday, we covered a really good deal wherein you can get a 4TB TeamGroup T-FORCE G50 NVMe PCIe Gen4 SSD for a low price of just $400 with a special discount coupon. That's just $100 per TB, making it a very good offer during these hard times. The deal is still live, so you can check it out in its dedicated article here if you do not want to miss out. Meanwhile, if you don't have that kind of budget but still wish to buy an SSD for a good price, the 2TB variant of the TeamGroup SSD at $280 its lowest price in over three months. Meanwhile, those seeking 2TB but faster performance can check out Samsung's 990 PRO, which has hit the lowest price also in the last quarter or so, as it's on sale for $370 (purchase links under the specs table down below). Thus, you want a faster drive, get the 990 Pro, or you want more capacity, grab the TeamGroup 4TB linked in the first para. The 990 PRO is a PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD and still one of the fastest drives available today for under $500. Speaking of fast, sequential reads and writes are rated at 7450 MB/s and 6900 MB/s, respectively. The random throughputs for reads and writes are 1400K IOPS and 1550K IOPS, respectively. The 990 PRO is based on Samsung's 7th Gen V-NAND flash, and it too is TLC. It packs 2 gigs of LPDDR4 DRAM cache, which helps the random performance. The endurance rating for this is 1200 TBW (terabytes written), which should be sufficient for most users. The Samsung 990 PRO is compatible with the PlayStation 5, but if you are going to use the 990 PRO on a PC, check out the Samsung Magician app that lets you track your drive's health, update its firmware, customize various settings, and more.
