Transformers: Dark of the Moon (Transformers 3)

Recommended Posts

If Michael Bay's Transformers 3 film has anything to do with the tie-in video game being developed for it, then it looks like some of the film will take place in Cybertron, the home planet of the Autobots and Decepticons. We also have some concept art of what it might look like.

The Concept art comes from artist Frankell Baramdyka and he posted a ton of the concept art for his work on the video game up on his blog. We have no idea if any of this reflects the movie's storyline but it definitely gives you a look at the direction they are going with Cybertron if it does.

I find it interesting that none of the concept art shows anything that has to do with planet earth, however we know that the film is shooting an a few different locations for big action sequences, but whose to say the story doesn't move to Cybertron? It makes sense that they would move in that direction. As silly as these Transformers films are it might be cool to take it to another world.

The artwork depicts a jungle type planet and a city in Cybertron called Lithos. There is a strong possibility that the movie will give us more of a background story on the Transformers. I guess we'll just have to wait and see, in meantime check out some of this great video game concept art below.

Sam's dad, Ron Witwicky, may not be in the third movie! The Hollywood Reporter mentions that actor Kevin Dunn is in negotiations to reprise the role in Transformers 3 ? but it's not a sure thing, because of contractual issues and the fact that Dunn is co-starring in a new HBO series. Is there even any point in making a third film without Dunn? I mean, it's really all about the characters. [THR via TLAMB]

There's a call for extras (paying $200 a day) and the most notable thing is Josh Duhamel isn't listed among the film's stars. Is he not coming back? Would you be able to tell? [CinemaBlend]

I would totally be an extra.

Josh Duhamel, who played Captain William Lennox in the first two Transformers movies, confirmed that his next movie will be Transformers 3. He said he just read the script and was impressed by how it deepens the mythology of the universe. When asked whether this meant Dinobots would be in the third movie, he said he couldn't answer that question.

I can't believe Michael Bay is still directing after Revenge of the Fallen.

Perhaps this is his revenge? Because he fell hard on his ass when the sequel came out.

I don't think he would just stop making Transformers films because people went all hate on him, I would want to make another to win people back

What are you talking about? Revenge for what? Producing and directing a movie that made millions of dollars? Yea, I'm sure I'd pretty ****ed off, too! Just like your jokes, your post makes no sense.

Money doesn't make a good film. The first Transformers really kicked ass. I was really in utter disappointment on how the narration took place on the sequel, it's almost as if the story didn't even matter. So much nonsense taking place and the last part of the film was nothing but a ad campaign for the U.S Forces and GM.

Michaelbay.com was updated this morning, with Bay writing that he has ?just locked in? Frances McDormand and John Malkovich as cast members for Transformers 3. According to Deadline, McDormand will have a major role in the film as the National Intelligence Director, while Malkovich will play ?Shia?s character?s first boss.? Those who think that the casting of McDormand and Malkovich represent an upgrade in terms of acting pedigree for this series should remember: these are the films that cast Cannes Best Actor award-winner John Turturro and forced him to a) Get ****ed on by a robot, and b) Show his ass cheeks for no reason whatsoever.

The film will be shot in LA, Chicago, Washington DC, Florida, Texas, Africa, Moscow, and China, with pre-shoots beginning in about a month. Ken Jeong of Knocked Up and Hangover fame has also been cast. I assume that hilarity (and potentially offensive Asian stereotypes) will ensue.

You know what, I agree with you and it's why I believe the 3rd one will really make up for the 2nd.

Apparently, that was John's idea. lol

Apparently, a good film made money. (see what I did there?) You're making the same complaints that people made about the first one. To be honest, I can't see anyone making Transformers as good or better than Bay managed to get.

I'm really wondering what people will complain about when the 3rd comes out.

That's debatable, allot of people who saw the first went to go see the second only to be disappointed. Mind you Bay had limited resources with what he could do with the first one.

The action scenes were great in the sequel it's just that there's allot of mindless BS between Shia and Megan and their half baked relationship. Then there's those two small autobots were down right offensive at times, and most importantly very little attention was payed to at the fallen.

And what was with all those explosions every second at the end. You'd think they came out of nowhere.

IMO it was a mindless action movie, good thing it wasn't my time to spend my dimes.

Offensive how? Seems to be another part of the movie that people are split on. Either they love or hate them. You're right about The Fallen, though. They should have gave him more attention.

A day after Michael Bay announced that John Malkovich and Frances McDormand are joining this film, news is leaking out about whom they're playing ? Malkovich is Sam Witwicky's first boss. And McDormand has a "big role" as the National Intelligence Director. [Deadline]

I think Transformers is totally in need of a new director and a reboot already. I want James Cameron or Ridley Scott

Really? :p

that there's not enough Megan Fox :p

Ah...Megan,

Who remembers the collective "oooooh" and shuffling around by all men in the audience when she appeared on screen, draped over the bike :D
