Transformers: Dark of the Moon (Transformers 3)

Screw those new pictures of Megan Fox on set ? she's the same make and model as in the previous films, after all. Here are some pics of the new Bumblebee! Plus Optimus Prime and a greatly redesigned Ratchet. [TFW2005 and TLAMB and TFW2005]

I actually like the front bumper from ROTF waaay better than the new one. The rims don't really fit the car either  As for Ratchet.. he's just coloured different and Optimus is still the same.

Ben Brown has posted two pictures from the Transformers 3 set on his Flickr page that seem to show off a plot point with a cross-out Autobot symbol and the phrase "Go Home". This seems to suggest that the public outing of the Transformers race and their war in the second movie is not going well for our heroes.

Last year, one of the more contentious aspects of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was an Autobot duo, Mudflap and Skids, who seemed to embody an impressive collection of racist, urban stereotypes.

Yesterday there was word, based on a spy account of some Transformers 3 activity, that the twins would return for the third film. But Michael Bay has now said that isn?t the case.

Bay?s denial was terse: ?The Twins are not back in T3.?

Is Bay Lying?

Production of the movie Transformers 3 recently began to ramp up, and our spy photographers were lucky enough to grab a sneak peak of two of the newest cast members on set. It looks as though two new Chevrolet Sparks will be joining the lineup for the third installment of the action flick, adding to a star studded cast that already includes Ferrari?s all-new 458 Italia.

Sporting ?Autobot? center caps on the wheels, these two vehicles were captured doing some pre-production work before principal filming starts in a few weeks. We think you are looking at Skidz (green) and Mudflap (orange).

Skidz is looking much sportier than in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, with new front and rear fascias, larger fenders, sportier wheels and a big wing. Mudflap was previously based on the Chevy Traxx concept, but for this installment, it appears both cars will be built off the Chevy Spark.

General Motors will once again be the main vehicle supplier for the latest Transformers movie, so expect to see several other GM-badged vehicles, including a black and yellow Chevy Camaro as Bumblebee.

Alan Tudyk Joins Transformers 3

Alan Tudyk, who we will always consider as Wash from Firefly/Serenity despite his bulging film and TV career since he soared like a leaf on the wind, has been added to the cast of Transformers 3.

The Wrap reports that he?s snagged a currently unspecified role (though, like recent signing Patrick Dempsey, who is playing Megan Fox?s boss, we expect the details to slip out soon enough) in the film.

Michael Bay?s latest foray into the world of giant battling robots has rapidly been building an eclectic cast, with Dempsey, Frances McDormand and John Malkovich all getting cast in the movie, which is still under a relative veil of secrecy regarding its plot. But with word that Bay will be shooting scenes at Florida?s Kennedy Space Centre in September, we?re guessing there could be some orbital action. Trivia fans will note that the director last shot there while making Armageddon.

Since Serenity, Tudyk has appeared in the TV likes of Dollhouse and V, plus movies such as 3:10 To Yuma and the original Death At A Funeral. We?re excited to see him get some lefty blockbuster work, and hopefully Michael Bay will keep the camera still enough to let him do his thing.

Earlier this week we saw that filming on Transformers 3 is well underway. Shia LaBeouf is currently at the Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, however he will be heading to set next week to begin work on the next installment.

While at Cannes LaBeouf spoke about the film, and said that it will improve on the second outing as it restores the human element that got lost in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

From The Associated Press:

?When I saw the second movie, I wasn?t impressed with what we did,? LaBeouf said in an interview Thursday at the Cannes Film Festival. ?There were some really wild stunts in it, but the heart was gone.?

On the second movie, ?we got lost. We tried to get bigger. It?s what happens to sequels. It?s like, how do you top the first one? You?ve got to go bigger,? LaBeouf said. ?Mike went so big that it became too big, and I think you lost the anchor of the movie. ? You lost a bit of the relationships. Unless you have those relationships, then the movie doesn?t matter. Then it?s just a bunch of robots fighting each other.?

With ?Transformers 3,? the toll of the robot war will be grave for our planet, LaBeouf said. ?There?s going to be a lot of death, human death. This time, they?re targeting humans,? LaBeouf said. ?It?s going to be the craziest action movie ever made, or we failed.?

Michael Bay: Megan Fox Reportedly Out of Transformers 3

I've just learned that Paramount won't be picking up Megan Fox's option on Transformers 3 -- and that it was "ultimately" director Michael Bay's decision. (So he gets his revenge for her remark comparing him to "Hitler".) Right now Bay and writer Ehren Kruger et al are finishing up the script for the threequel and "giving Shia a new love interest makes more sense for the story," an insider tells me. Bay will start casting immediately for the new female co-star. Let's hear your suggestions, readers...

So did Megan deserve to get fired? I say yes. No actor/actress can expect to go around dissing a director and expect to work together as if nothing happened. Much less the egotistical Bay. But in Fox, he had met his match. Why, as recently as this week Megan was quoted as dissing Bay yet again. In recent months she has shown off a more natural skin hue instead of her usual orange color -- and blamed the Transformers helmer for her unhealthy tanning binge. "I had been tanning a lot so that Michael would be happy with my skin tone. Every spare moment of sun that was outside, I had to be in it," the 24-year-old actress lamented in Allure magazine. "It's not going to happen again because of the damage and the possible skin cancer."

This is without doubt a huge blow to Megan's career, already damaged by her inability to open Twentieth's Fox Atomic film Jennifer's Body last September. The R-rated feminist horror flick did a pathetic $6.8M weekend for a script by Juno's Diablo Cody for a domestic total of only $16.2M and a worldwide take of just $31.5M. And talk about bad timing: right now she's doing publicity for her role in Jonah Hex to be released June 18th. Guess what everyone will ask her?

No loss here. She's not a good actor or even a good looker.

I'd still hit it

Looks wise shes nice, didnt get why she got a lip job though she looked pretty sweet as she was, not sure how the story would play out without her as she has been in the first 2. In essence Transformers was the movie that really "MADE" her.

With word that Megan Fox won?t be returning for Transformers 3 comes speculation as to who will replace her as Shia LaBeouf?s love interest. According to The Wrap Gemma Arterton is currently front-runner and has apparently already had discussions with Michael Bay. I?m not sure how likely this is however, as Arterton already has the Clash of the Titans and Prince of Persia franchises under her belt.

The Wrap name a few other potential candidates:

Models Bar Rafaeli and Miranda Kerr were both brought in to the project?s casting office to read for ?Transformers 3.?

Rafaeli is an Israeli model who is currently dating Leonardo DiCaprio and stars in Haim Bouzaglo?s indie psychological thriller ?Session,? which is in post-production.

Kerr is an Australian model whose acting experience seems to be limited to an episode of the CBS sitcom ?How I Met Your Mother? in which she played herself. She?s been one of the Victoria?s Secret Angels since mid-2007.

Brooklyn Decker is another gorgeous model whose name has been mentioned as a potential Fox replacement, and of the three models, her film career looks to be the brightest at the moment. She?s appeared on ?Chuck,? ?Ugly Betty? and USA?s ?Royal Pains,? and is currently filming the comedy ?Just Go With It? with Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston. She was also on the cover of this year?s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, and is married to American tennis star Andy Roddick.

Filming is already underway so whoever does end up replacing Megan Fox will have to be free, good looking, willing to play a 2-dimensional character, and good at running.

    • SKG Hand Massager with Heat OS500 hands on by Steven Parker I was offered the chance to test out the SKG Hand Massager with Heat OS500, and full disclosure, they let me keep it regardless of my findings. Anyway, I jumped at the chance due to my long hours sitting at my desk, mousing around. Apologies for the knife cut across the top of the box; that was my doing, being a bit too heavy-handed with opening up the outer packaging. First up, what's in the box: SKG Hand Massager with Heat OS500 1x Type-C charging cable User Manual 1-Year Warranty (card) In short, everything you need to get started. According to the official Amazon listing, here are the key features: Full-Hand Air Compression: OS500 wraps your fingers, palm, and wrist with multi-chamber air compression for a complete hand relaxation experience. The extended massage chamber helps cover more of the hand and wrist area than standard palm-only hand massagers Palm Kneading with 6 Modes & 6 Intensities: Built-in palm kneading rollers add a hands-on massage feel, while 6 preset modes and 6 pressure levels let you choose the comfort level that fits your day—from gentle relaxation to a firmer full-hand massage 3 Heat Levels with Cooling Fan: Choose from 104°F, 113°F or 122°F warmth to suit different seasons and comfort preferences. The built-in cooling fan helps reduce stuffiness during heated sessions, keeping your hand feeling fresh and comfortable Easy Visual Display & Smart Timer: The digital image display clearly shows massage area, mode, intensity, heat level, and remaining time at a glance. Select 10, 15, or 20-minute sessions for quick office breaks, evening relaxation, or everyday hand care Rechargeable, Cordless & Comfortable: A 3000mAh battery supports over 90 minutes of full-function use on a full charge, with convenient USB-C charging. The soft inner lining, smooth ABS/PU finish, and premium black-gold design make OS500 ideal for home, office, or gifting With all that out of the way, here are my own findings. I gave it a try on both left and right hands, and as you can maybe see from the above YouTube Short, (sorry for the shaky video), my whole hand fits in, but my wrist barely enters the Hand Massager. I was able to push through a bit more with my fingertips extending out the other end to get a bit of massaging on the start of my wrist. Usage For some reason, there is a strap that is very difficult to fasten to my wrist with one hand. I am not sure what function it has, and it isn't mentioned in the user manual. The only thing I could find was in the product images that claimed "wrist precision". Unlike the Bob and Brad Hand Massager, this device does not massage the wrist anyway, even though a "wrist mode" is mentioned, which must be for smaller hands than I have, as it is mainly intended for the hand and fingers. In addition, for its steeper price, there are no disposable gloves provided in the box, which is a bit of an issue considering the internal cover (which appears to be elasticated nylon) cannot be removed for washing; so you are left with only one choice: always thoroughly wash your hands before using it. I can imagine this thing getting a bit grimy after a period of use, and that is a bit of a shame. With that said, the buttons on the device, from left to right, do the following: Heat button: 3-level heat control at 104°F, 113°F, or 122°F Mode button: Auto mode Circular mode Soothing mode Relax mode Palm and fingers mode Palm and wrist mode Intensity button: from (First-time users) 15Ka, 25Ka, 35Ka, 45Ka, 55Ka, 60Ka (Intensive relief) Knead button: on or off (6 pressure levels) Power button: Long-press to turn on or off Cooling button: turn on or off the cooling fan Also, in the product imagery, it states there are 36 "custom modes," but nowhere is it listed what these modes are. I can only imagine that they mean a combination of all of the above settings in different intensity levels. The device itself seems to rely on a single "kneading" mechanism located at the palm area of the hand, which spins when in use, and the other massage features are mainly utilized through the air sacs, increasing and decreasing at various levels on the hand and fingers. I am not sure it offered too much relief for someone who is typing and operating a mouse for hours at a time; further testing may be required. It does feel nice, though. Finally, you may be wondering how this fits into the scope of a tech website? Well, let me tell you something: sometimes I sit for up to 15 hours working on Neowin, and although I take breaks in between, it takes a toll on my body. I think in the immediate absence of a partner to apply relief, a good massager like this Hand Massager can shed the strains of the day in just a couple of 15-minute bursts. On the official website, this has an MSRP of $99.99, but luckily for our readers, it is selling at $10 off for just $89.99 right now on Amazon. SKG Hand Massager with Heat OS500 for $89.99 (with $10 off coupon), $99.99 MSRP For me, this gets a thumbs hands(?) down. However, it could be improved by making it so that the protective covering could be removed and thrown into the washing machine, or get yourself some disposable gloves to use with it.
