someone on CBM is saying it could be Alpha Trion

Alpha Trion is missing the crazy mad scientist hair. I think that he would look more along the lines of the fallen/jet fire. But I am not in Bay's head or in the head of anyone at Hasbro.

reminds me of Dr. Arkeville

He works with the Decepticons though. The head is standing next to Bumblebee. Could be standing next to him as a prisonner of course.

If it's gonna be Alpha Trion then that's another interesting aspect to this movie.

Being next to bumblebee, could mean anything couldn't it? A fight sequence, a prisoner, look at the pic, there is wreckage around them. That is depicting where they are, not necessarily if they are friend or foe (unless they have different heads for that). They are either fighting together or are in a close range fight between each other. Which one is it? I doubt bumble bee is escorting him anywhere (prisoner) because of the wreckage around them, unless he is getting ambushed.

Nelson over at the Shoot For The Edit stated that the NASCAR Trio are not Stunticons Or Omnibots.

"...but all I'll tell you is that they're not Stunticons or Omnibots."

Again, we do not know whether this is a part of the Misinformation Campaign. But, now at least we have an official statement about them.

Just to make a recap... Nelson said :

#1 - The new robot is NOT Kup and Kup's not in the movie.

#2 - The new robot is NOT Perceptor.

#3 - The NASCAR Trio aren't Stunticons or Omnibots.

We will wait and see what Nelson might say next.

Replying to a thread at Shoot For The Edit, Nelson hints that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is Carly on Transformers 3.

?Thread: Every Little Girl Should Be Told That She's Pretty, Even if She's Not.

Nelson: I personally like Carly, I mean, Rosie.?

Update: It's no longer a rumor or a hint. Nelson confirmed Rosie's role as Carly.

The name of the Ferrari 458 Italia Autobot is RUSH.

The "Transformers 3" movie production was extremely busy over the weekend as the third installment of the science fiction franchise took over the very center of Chicago.

ABC7 Chicago headed out Sunday evening to catch up with the director, Michael Bay, who was busy making movie magic.

An apocalyptic Chicago figures intensely in the secret script of Transformers 3. The destruction of Wabash and Wacker is integral to the final scene where Bay's middle America takes a beating but survives.

His grandfather's advice on success:

"He said, 'If you can sell to Middle America, that is where the heartland is, and my movies really gear toward that,'" said Bay. "They are big around the world, but really they are every patriotic, and they just have a lot of that Americana."

Blow by blow, this most American of sets was 'transformed' throughout a weekend that cost the producers nearly $400,000. Producer Lorenzo di Boneventura, whose "Salt" with actress Angelina Jolie is now in theatres, says he loves filming in Chicago.

"As you can see, a lot of people are cheering us after this thing, and you know what, it gives us energy to feed off the crowd," the producer said "Can you write that into the script at all? No, no, this scene Chicago is taking a pounding right about now. So, nobody would be standing around looking. They would be fleeing for their lives."

As the crowds screamed for the movie stars, including Grey's Anatomy's Patrick Dempsey, the man behind the viewfinder would work until sundown milking everything he can from the set.

"The skyline, it is just a magnificent looking city, in terms of how it is open. And you compare it to New York City, where you have to get away on a helicopter to really see what it looks like because you are in a corridor, whereas this it is open; it is beautiful," said Bay.

Transformers 3 is employing 3,500 people throughout the production, including copious Chicago specialists in the crew, on the animation team and providing services.

"Let me tell you, I have shot around the world, shot in a lot of famous cities, and I have had the most fun shooting in this city because the town is so into it," Bay said.

Filming will carry on in Chicago for another month before heading off to Detroit.

The producers say Transformers 3 will end up costing north of $200 million -- with $20 million or so flowing into Chicago.
