Transformers: Dark of the Moon (Transformers 3)

Loved it. A bit sad that Bay might not be making more, he's really good at it. Knowing the studios they'll probably try and keep the franchise going to milk it, but I don't think it will be the same without Bay.

They killed off basically all the main enemies, I guess they could only top it off with Unicron but that wouldn't happen.

i saw it in 3d over the weekend, might possibly be because it was my first 3d film, but it was pretty amazing visually. It was definitely better than the 2nd, but i stil think the 1st is the best. This one wasn't as "funny" as the others, but it made up for it in action. I can understand why critics wouldn't like the movie, there were parts of the movie that made me cringe (ie: Same and Carly cheesing it up at the end) and other parts that were quite suprising, but it was definitely entertaining and i think if you go in to it with that mindset you'll love it. However the whole

Carly being terrified of the robots, then getting government clearance (just because?) and then calling megatron a bitch right in his face and he attacks sentinal because of it?

was very annoying.. but not annoying enough for me to say i didn't enjoy it.

this was a bad movie, without a doubt. and you could easily have made this movie and hour and a half with all the BS filler they threw in and the most far fetched hole filled plot ever, but at least it's better then the second one...

the 3d was really well done though and the action scenes were amazing but Ars gave a really spot on review of this movie and why it's bad/weird.

why did no one give a **** that wang died? like no one... is that michael bay admitting that his entire character meant absolutely nothing to the story and was just more filler?

Still got a galvatron story as well!

Seeing it again at the imax this sat! First imax experience as well lol

As for it doing so well even though it has bad reviews, just look at the latest POTC film, that was a shockingly bad awful film, but still did very well in the box office and this film is sooo much better than that! lol

Wow! That is cheap.

Studios re-use stock footage all of the time, this is nothing new. There's one shot of an airliner landing that I know I've seen in at least 3 or 4 different movies.

One of the best things about Transformers 2 was The Transformers 2 FAQ, and the guy who made it made a new one for #3. Click. Not as hilarious as the last one, but well worth the read.

After reading just a bit of that piece of crap blog, all I can say is that the jackass who wrote it is a total ****ing moron.

By the way, I really laughed when I heard the line: "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few" from you know who. That was too funny. Wasn't expecting that one!!!!...LOL

That wasn't the only quote from Star Trek II, but it seems that very few people have caught the second one since it is only two words: when Bumblebee says to Sam "you will always be my friend"

(just before they launch to leave Earth)

, the "my friend" part is, if I'm not mistaken, taken from Spock telling Kirk "you have always and ever shall be my friend".

Saw it tonight in 3d.

Only seen a few 3d films and this was by far the best.

i also think its probably the best of the trilogy.

i didn't pay atttention to the depth of the script of anything, but the NSA general lady with blonde hair annoyed the hell out of me.

if she was in charge of the autobots being on earth or w/e her role was, surely she would have known about Sam and what he has done and why he should be involved in everything, rather than try stopping him being involved. her attitude to it all was one thing that annoyed me in the movie

i would also have liked to have known

where the other tiny robot came from (not the one from T2) and also where the other new autobots came from. AND finally, what about the other decepticons that were all over the planet, i find it hard to believe that no more than approx 10 autobots survived and escaped cybertron but theres 100's of decepticons

Overall, for what it was, its clearly going to be my favourite movie.

I barely paid attention to the plot, and honestly I mean that, and I can answer both of these for you.

Answer To Spolier # 1 -

Sam complained multiple times in the movie about how he got no credit because all of his actions were covert and considered off the record, yes, even though he got the stupid hero thing from the president, but remember, he supposedly got that thing for something else. Also the blonde women comes in to take control of the situation in the beginning of the movie, up until that point in time she had nothing to do with it.

Answer To Spolier # 2 -

All the extra Decepticons come from the moon on the bridge. There were only a few of them as well before the others came from the moon.

But honestly, trying to analyze these movies for their plot is like trying to find reality it reality television shows... both are non existent.

Yes, and people keep forgetting something else:

Sentinel Prime was working for the Decepticons, so he likely had the Ark manned by Decepticons, not Autobots!!

I think you've forgotten that Sentinel Prime was working for himself, not the Decepticons. The history with Sentinel Prime is that he is sometimes selfish and does things for himself. Megatron thought he would be the surpreme ruler until Sentinel Prime decided otherwise and wanted it for himself.

Saw this in 3D yesterday and the film is complete trash and was far too long, they could have cut 2 hours and told what little story there was in 40 mins it was that weak, the tenuous link in bringing Witwicky back was so ridiculous.

3D was a massive letdown as well, it was all over the place. Some scenes it was amazing and other scenes it was barely noticeable it really put me off and made my eyes hurt, i dont know if it was just the cinema i went to watch it but i found that the motion was very stuttery and all the foreground 3d had a wierd sort of halo around whatever was popping out.

1. Pretty sure it was a problem with your theatre.

2. You sound as if you expected an academy award winning script. Surely you have some form of common sense that tells you what to realistically expect going into this movie, no?

It gets so tiring listening to responses like the above.. the forum was full of them when TF and TF2 came out, same ol' ****, the story was blah blah blah.. the script was blah blah blah.

It's a MICHAEL BAY film, and it's about ROBOTS. Not that those two things always mean a horrible script, but the movie is about having fun, watching 3d and getting to see **** blow up. If you went into it with more then those 3 things in mind, you are setting up for disappointment my friend.

Maybe I should have changed that "for" to "with" to be a little more accurate, but the overall point still stands.

If you want to watch reality shows, go watch "Keeping up with the Kardashians"

No...

They made it very clear that his actions were to save his race, at no point was he portrayed as selfish. He didn't care about humans, but they took great effort to show that his end goal was to save his race, even if it meant sacrificing a couple (Ironhide) for what he believed to be the greater good. So he was misguided, but not selfish. He didn't want to rule, he just wanted his race to survive.

So because my opinion is that i hated it and thought it was trash means my opinion is invalid?

I actually enjoyed the first two, i rewatched the second one a few days before going to see the third and i thought they were far superior to that crap in the cinema.

There were a lot of twists and surprises in this movie, some of which I didn't see coming.

It sucks that Ironhide died. I kinda liked him and hoped he'd have a bigger role in the 3rd movie. Also, what happened to Megatron? He seemed to have vanished towards the second half when things started getting crazy. Carly somehow finds him and pokes at him for working with Sentinel Prime. Then, he immediately runs to Sentinel Prime and shoots him in the back. Was he damaged to the point where he couldn't get up or did he simply enjoy the view?

Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised to hear Leonard Nimoy's voice. I especially liked the reference to Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.

as for Megatron, probably brain/nerve damage; as we see, the repair bots were still working on him, but he just flicks them out of the way

Yup, plus you have to remember, Megatron's body at that point was pieces of his original body, mashed up with a couple grunt decepticons from his resurrection, with even more garage modifications apparently between movie 2 and 3. By this point I'd say it's safe to say he was nowhere near his original strength, plus he was kinda off his rocker after losing so many times. Overall I think the point they were trying to convey was that this Megatron is not the same as he was in the first movie.

All you have to do is stick to the beat for the built-in or custom songs. Next, Citizen Sleeper is a sci-fi RPG adventure taking place in a ruined space station.
