Seriously, why can't they just let people try it themselves? Why do they need to fearmonger?

It's like theyre actively trying to sabotage Microsoft.

Look, if you want MS gone so bad, build a better product. If you can't do that, STFU.

And as far as I know, ZDNet isn't in the business of OS development, so they need to just shut up and let people try it.

They're not "saving" us by telling us it's bad, or to stay away, even indirectly. They're just windows bashing because they think it's cool. ZDNet: grow up, or stop paying your server bill.

Why post a topic on it then?

Holy thread resurrection, Batman!

There's no reason to fiddle with it, Windows 7 works just fine without needing tweaks.

Yea, He has copied and pasted the same thing in another thread...

Of course it *can* boot slower than Vista. It all depends on configuration. Hardware, software, yadda yadda.

I bet you I can make XP boot lightning fast, and then take 12 minutes. Just give me a hour online and Norton's latest release*.

*If you think I was serious there.... go ahead and look silly by directly quoting this post and saying it doesn't slow down a system. It's really a trap to see who the village idiots are around here ;)

Blast... missed that someone bumped this old topic. Cursed spammer looking person.

    • Get used to this, with AI tooling now uncovering new vulns and getting them exploitable far faster than has ever been possible before software is going to need to be updated far more frequently.
    • You don't need to "close all browser sessions constantly" or wait for updates to install. The updates download in the background while you use the browser, without interrupting you, they install automatically the next time you launch the app. And they install very fast (depending on your storage speeds, of course), you have to wait at most 2-3 extra seconds, if any. Seems like you haven't used Edge in a loooooooong time...
