MW2: No Dedicated Servers, No Mods

Recommended Posts

Funny thing is this thought only struck me today, though I remember the quote from ages ago.

Bobby wants to turn CoD in to a MMO so they can charge you ?8.99 a month. I wonder if IWnet is the first baby steps towards it. If so. Arf.

Bobby needs to get his head out of his ass and get a reality check.

There's over 140,000 people that have signed the petition to cancel preorders or not buy it out right. That's over $8 million right there.

Hopefully they lose enough sales to realize that people won't stand for this crap.

I think they did 3 Bil last year. I'm sure they could give less of a toss about 8 mil.

Talking about COD4 PC, look at how priorities have changed :p

Wow. That video is sad to watch actually. Real sad. It just reinforces everything that they are now going against.

I hardly no any ISP here in the UK that offers decent upload rates. im on a 2.5mb line and have an upload rate between 200-300, unless your on cable or close to the exchange if ur on adsl you get shocking upload rates and i reckon thats gona be the same for a lot of ppl

i live in the uk and i get 2.5meg up

I mean in comparison to TF2 and CS:S

I take it you mean graphically.

In CS:S, you're squishy as a person in real life for the most part. You don't get shot the hell up, settle down for a second, and everything's just good and dandy again, only to take more gunshot wounds, grenade blasts, etc. At some point, you've got to be riddled with holes suffering from massive blood loss, missing pieces of your body, black and burned, deaf, and blind...

Sadly, the loss of PC sales won't make a dent. They'll cover the losses in the first few hours of a new DLC release on the consoles.

Most of me wishes they would just pull the PC release and stop dicking everyone around. A small part of me is curious about IW.Net, but my curiousity is having trouble rationalizing the $60 beta test entry fee at the moment.

Been reading PA have we?

... you'd get the impression that PC gamers still think they are the focus of the industry, when that hasn't been true for awhile. Indeed, hardcore gamers in general - and the dedicated PC enthusiast, which is a subset - haven't been the object of their desire for some time. I was under the impression this was well known, but it does require a willingness to perceive factual information, which is not a universal trait among cultists. Maybe if you had just put out, instead of becoming a signatories to a vow of consumer chastity, the old twinkle might return to his eye.

I see his point and more than ever does it look like they are trying to turn us in to console gamers. Gone are the days when map packs and updates use to be free (Vanilla UT :)). All hail IW for finally ****ing PC gamers last unique benefit. Bring on the ?5 map packs and every publisher following suit.

It's funny really, we buggered console owners with Digital Delivery so now you have to pre order from a retailer to get the full game. I guess they get the last laugh though.

Anyone seen this letter yet? It was reprinted from the IW forums, pretty decent read.

Spookie: I do read PA. But I think I posted that before their rant/shot/whatever that was. I can't see their site from work anymore, the "no fun on your lunch break police" blocked it and many others recently.

They've taken Lean out of the PC version, as well as the console, and the ability to change your Field of View.

Infinity Ward has ****ed this game for PC.

    • I really wonder if this has to do with the built in VPN or "private DNS" of browsers that trip up legal requirements like cookie consent and Cloudflare (to avoid all the botnet attacks we get). And BTW some botnets still manage to get past Cloudflare, we are constantly having to tweak it to block malicious traffic that ultimately cause a DDoS.
    • CPPC states can also be messed around with in most UEFI settings but aren't as robust as the ones that the Windows Scheduler can provide! Make sure you look into what your motherboard also has before customizing for the Windows Scheduler.
    • My issue is I can't access the forum on mobile if the site is set to Desktop mode on Vivaldi because it can't complete the Cloud flare am I a bot check! I know this is a Vivaldi issues as it has started happening on all cloud flare check sites, it's so annoying, I've reported it but no fix yet.
