Madoshi
device drivers have been a Windows feature since the original, right? making them an antique concept? surely they must be vastly inferior to Apple's method of hardware support, which is very simple. sell the latest version of the Mac OS with every new Mac, and disallow the possibility for a downgrade. forget 3rd party device drivers and a standard method for their installation and use; just build support for all Apple-branded periphery into the OS beforepaw and force people to buy that instead of cheaper alternatives that everybody else gets to enjoy. to be honest, i hate device drivers. but i am glad we have to put up with them. my wireless card and TV tuner came from companies other than Microsoft, IBM, and Dell, and i am free to add and upgrade anything i want.
