Nashy
Just wondering, does Neowin really need to post every single new article on Twitter and Facebook? Why not save it for bigger news, it just seems a waste of time posting everything. It clogs up my feed, but I don't want to take Neowin out of the filter, because I want to make sure I don't miss anything *big*. Why not keep it for big news. Neowin is worse than some of those idiots who post every 5 minutes to let people know what they're doing.
DaveLegg Developer Posted October 28, 2009 Developer Share Posted October 28, 2009 It's an automated process that takes our RSS feed and posts the stories, its an easy way of letting the people who don't use RSS, but do use twitter, know of our news updates. Nashy
I know what's doing it, but is it really needed. It's bloody annoying.

Rappy Veteran Posted October 28, 2009 Veteran Share Posted October 28, 2009 it's useful on Twitter because that's where I get my news now but I see your point

p858snake
Why do you subscribe to the feed if you don't like its purpose?
Rob Veteran Posted October 29, 2009 Veteran Share Posted October 29, 2009 If you don't follow that many people on Twitter i can see how it would be irritating. But for those of us whose timeline is very frequently updated, the Neowin posts aren't overbearing. In your case, I think just unfollowing the Neowin feed would make sense if it annoys you. Fred Derf Veteran Posted October 29, 2009 Veteran Share Posted October 29, 2009 It serves its purpose for at least some of our readers. What you appear to want is a greatest hits twitter feed that would only post stories once they get 1500 views or something like that. Perhaps the devs could automate such a script if there was enough of a call for it. At that point you could unfollow the main feed and follow this "greatest hits" feed. Fish
What you appear to want is a greatest hits twitter feed that would only post stories once they get 1500 views or something like that. This sounds like a great idea (Y) I must admit, I have removed Neowin from my Facebook feed, but I would certainly have it back if the updates were less frequent and were restricted to hotter topics. Guest
I like the way it is at the minute. I use it as a replacement for RSS, I have Tweetie on the Mac setup so that when a new tweet arrives it appears as a Growl message . Saves me having to run both a RSS and twitter app.
