Well so call mr. awesome just ****ed up writing his gamertag on a picture that is ALL OVER THE INTERNET.

Can I haz ACCOUNT BAN!?

Its just 18 more days before the game comes out, not that much longer guys. Waited all this long, just a few more days. 2 weeks and 4 days to be exact.

I mean hell IM GETTING THE SYSTEM AND LEGENDARY EDITION and im patient, and im NEVER patient lol. I sold my system and everything to "upgrade". So its ok guys, we will live till 14.

Hell I even "got' the game and played it on a system I have, i couldnt make it past the menu, something in my brain was telling me to just wait it out instead of ruining it, sad part of all this, i NEVER play single player of ANYWAY game... lol. So it didnt matter to me anyway, but point being not that long left.

You won't get banned for buying a game early. We went over this when MW2 came out, as it's not their fault they were sold the game early.

Yeah I dunno how that rumor is still going around. Nobody's ever been banned for buying the game early and its happened with just about all huge releases.

I understand, but he will be monitored up the ass, and as soon as he pops the game in and connects to live, or is connected to live and it reports him playing the game before release, you know microsoft has the right to ban you right?

Now if he has another system, or is bragging for epeen, then he's not gonna get banned, but oh well he has a copy before everyone else. The real fun is playing it before everyone else. Hence Midnight releases.

He won't get banned. If he does all he has to do is call Microsoft Support and show proof that he purchased the game and he will be unbanned.

IF you downloaded the game, then you will 100% get banned, but obviously this guy didn't.

from stepto tiwtter feed.

i've been asked about unauthorized pre-release play on Halo: Reach. Let me address that.

as with all unauthorized play on Xbox LIVE, anyone playing any unauthorized title runs the risk of account permaban and console.

remember, legit store bought copy runs no risk of ban. Key word: UNAUTHORIZED. We have ways of knowing. :>

We already received our physical review copy, though I am not reviewing it, so I don't get to play it :(. So long as it's a retail copy that was purchased or given to you buy MS PR, you are all good.

Looks like Halo Reach will be my first Xbox game with the new packaging! WOOT WOOT! Shipping from Newegg soon!

We!? Whos We!?

And same here, new packagingggg

So I have yet to see this clearly answered anywhere, although I haven't looked real hard in order to avoid spoilers, but how long is single player?

Depends on the difficulty you play. At least, that is Bungie's official answer to this question. Usually a Halo game lasts between 6-10 hours depending on difficulty. 6 on easy, 8-10 on legendary. I recall normal took me abour 7 hours to beat when I got Halo 3.

lol, do people really play on easy? I mean, I don't always start on the hardest difficulty, but easy just seems like tossing $$ out the window. But thanks for the answers.

TBH, I do. BUT I only do it for achievements after I've run through campaign the first time. 90% of the time I get too into a campaign that I forget about specific achievements. So I play through again on easy to get anything else done.

I do :p the first run on easy/normal because I am more interested in story and want to get through as fast as possible.

I never drop down to easy, but I'll usually go with normal for my first playthrough of a game, just because I want to see the story. If I like the game, then I'll go for a harder difficulty next time.

P.S. 999th reply! Not bad for a game that isn't out yet :) .

    • Well, it's good to know that they have found a workaround to a problem that they helped create, I guess...
    • Meta is reusing old DDR4 RAM in its servers instead of buying new hardware by Ivan Jenic Image: Meta The global hardware shortage isn’t exactly news, as the entire world has been struggling with rising component prices for quite some time now. And while big companies certainly aren’t as affected as the average consumer, even they aren’t opposed to the idea of saving a few (million) bucks. Meta appears to have found a way to spend less on new hardware while also putting its outdated infrastructure to use, essentially killing two birds with one stone. The company has built a custom chip that lets it reuse memory from retired servers rather than buying new hardware. The chip is called Vistara and allows for connecting old DDR4 RAM from obsolete servers into new servers that rely on DDR5. The problem Vistara solves goes back to a basic mismatch in how long hardware lasts. Meta replaces its servers every three to five years, but the memory modules inside them are good for seven to ten. When a server gets decommissioned, perfectly usable DDR4 RAM goes with it. Meta is presenting the new method at today’s ISCA symposium, but The Register has got hold of a paper that explains how Vistara works. It's a custom ASIC that bridges DDR4 memory to newer processors via aCXL 2.0/1.1 interface over PCIe Gen5 x16. Meta pulls DDR4 sticks from old machines and installs them in dedicated units it calls MemServers, each of which pairs 768GB of DDR5 with 256GB of recovered DDR4. The operating system sees the DDR4 as an additional memory node and draws from it when the primary DDR5 is running low. Off-the-shelf CXL hardware couldn't do this, so Meta built its own. Existing interfaces bundle their own memory with the controller, which makes reusing old RAM sticks impossible. But Vistara separates the controller from the memory entirely, so Meta can plug in whatever DDR4 sticks it has on hand. Meta plans to deploy the new architecture in hyperscale infrastructure with millions of servers, which should mean that Meta’s AI datacenters will now be more efficient. The company is investing heavily in AI infrastructure, especially with its new AI model, Muse Spark, now widely available. All of this doesn't mean that Meta will exclusively rely on "recycled" RAM, but the company is still looking at considerable savings at scale.

    • I like Tidal, but it still does not control devices from the mobile/app and still no surround support. And yeah re: above comment I still get a lot of network errors and I am on a 4/4 Gbit Fiber connection.
