Question for you, guys.

None of my mates in r/l like Halo games and I want to play through the co-op campaign - is it possible for complete strangers to join my game or join complete strangers co-op campaign?

No at the moment. Bungie has not enabled campaign matchmaking quite yet but they will in the future. it hasn't been added due to the possibilities of spoilers.

Reflection is awesome.

And for some reason people still don't know where the rockets and sniper are on that map, or even Pinnacle for that matter.

Sooo uhm.. I made a video for the "Banshees, Fast and Low" achievement in case any of you haven't gotten it yet and wanted to know how to get it rather quick.

nice vid :) I did it on tip of the spear, equally easy on that level.

I got kicked from a game when an idiot on my team walked into my grenade... fun.

Ahhh I thought I was going to get booted the other day. I had rockets and had JUST shot it at two enemies when a teammate of mine sprinted to them. I had a "triple" kill and was like aw here comes the unnecessary boot! :( But it never came :D.

I've already booted like two people for purposefully TKing though. I mean if it was something silly like running me over with a warthog after I just spawned, that's fine. But yanno, shooting me then meleeing me.. w/e dude go play custom games with your buddies to do that. :|

Best MP maps of all the Halo's to date. Just loving this game.

I too got the boot yesterday for someone who ran into my line of ROCKET fire and they booted me. I went to my match settings and changed it to NON chatty, good time settings, and I am finding mostly adults and mature people there. When a betrayal happens by accident people apologize and don't penalize you.

Next best thing to an adult play filter.

I use the same settings. Sometimes I flip chatty on to see i there are any people out there that like to work in a team.

Sweet video Cupcakes. You made it look real easy. (Y)

Does the game boot people automatically, or is it another method?

you can choose to forgive or punish - I assume choosing punish kicks them or tk's them?

Yeah, you're given the option to forgive or punish and if you choose punish, it boots them. It's a lot more sensitive than past Halo betrayal systems, though (which usually took more than one betrayal before the option kicked in), and some people are way too quick to select the boot option.

I was in the Scorpian on a CTF game and was after a guy in a Revenant. A warthog with a driver and passenger from my own team drove at full speed into my shot as I took it which ended up blowing them up, and getting me booted. It was clear that they didn't think it through when they booted me, because it happened in a matter of a half-second or so.

I do like the way they're handling quitters now. That's something that could maybe be made more sensitive, too. Two quits leads to probation, one more leads to 15 minute ban would be good.

Very nice.. I didn't think of doing that there lol.

Ugh, so that's how it works? That's a stupid system, IMO. It rewards idiots for doing things like running in your grenades. The guy that must have booted me from the game didn't even have positive points.

To those complaining about headshots, just checking, are you talking about after a player's shields are down? A headshot is a one hit kill, but only after shields are down. If shields aren't down then you aren't going to kill someone with just a headshot unless it's the sniper rifle.

what does that mean? my friend said he didn't wanna quit a game twice in a row. do you have to go see a parole officer and go to court if you do?

If you quite a game while in probation then you get locked out of matchmaking for a while. I think 15 minutes. So three quits leads to a time out.

Anybody here enjoy playing firefight classic? I'm not a huge fan of the one round firefight they have in matchmaking and I'm looking for some people to play some firefight with.

My GT is Frost AM, I'm usually on during the evenings after 6pm EST

Absolutely loved the game. My friend and I played from midnight launch day until about midnight the next night, then played all day the next day. Finished campaign, played multiplayer, played lots of firefight, etc. Everything is as good as I hoped it would be.

Anyway, in between all this stuff, we built what we think is a pretty decent map in forge. It's a symmetrical map based on the water giving the idea that the player is walking on water the whole time. It's called Case de Jesus :p. Give it a try if you guys want and tell me what you think so far. Here's a link to it in my fileshare.

Sounds fun, will try out tonight. :D

:(

The best maps in this game, by far, are Hemmorrage, Pinnacle and Reflection. The Revanent is like a blazing plasma ball of doom :p.

Hemmorrage - Re-make (with small changes) to the classic Blood Gulch map from Halo: CE

Pinnacle - Re-make from a great Halo 2 map, called Ascension. (verbatim)

Reflection - Re-make of one of the best maps from Halo 2, titled Ivory Tower. Fancier looking with minor tweaks.

It's nothing but sad, when somebody's favorite three maps for a game are re-makes from past games.

With the three above, here's the rest of the re-make maps:

Asylum - Sanctuary from Halo 2.

Zealot - Re-make of midship with a third level added. It's the most changed re-make.

The Cage - I don't consider this a re-make of Lockout, but everyone seems to agree it's suppose to play just like how Lockout did. Guess it's your personal opinion.

So 5 or 6 of the 13 maps being re-makes. That's poor. You can't possible spin that to be good. Only hoping that the inevitable DLC maps are better than the 7/8 original maps.

I think he is well aware that those are remakes. It's another thing if it's poor choice or not (Hint: I agree that bungie got a bit lazy).

the booting system is seriously awful.

last night i ran a team mate over on my mongoose after he ran straight in front of it out of nowhere and i get booted instantly. then this morning a team mate accidentally TK's me on swat and i'm given the option to boot him. if i was 99% of the XBL community i would've booted him the instant i was given the option, but i didn't. however the fact i had been given the option after a blatant mistake is just ridiculous. if it had happened twice in a game then it would make sense. and then earlier, a team mate stood in front of my ghost and continuously shot it untill it exploded, betraying me in a very obviously intentional manner and i'm not even given the option to boot... what the hell?

All of the ones you mentioned happen to be my favorites, too, and mainly for the nostalgia they offer because of their being remakes of Halo 2 maps.

Like them or don't, I wouldn't say that 5 out of 13 maps being remakes is "poor", and can't be spun to be good.

I think the reason I wasn't able to enjoy Halo 3 as much as Halo CE, Halo 2, and now Halo Reach is because for me, it seemed a bit of a stray from classic Halo elements. Even the remake maps were over stylized to the point that while they were recognizable, it just never felt the same playing on them. Personally, I'm excited that this game has so many throwbacks and that I do get the same feeling I got playing CE and 2. But again, you either like that, or you don't.

And that's certainly not to say that those of us who favor the remake maps won't eventually love the new maps just as much.

    • Very fitting name since AI users have air where there brains should be.
    • Yes, it was amusing at the time because even then dbrand was well known for stealing the designs of products from other companies. That’s what they do.
    • Didn’t Dbrand once complain that Casetify was ripping off their designs a well? seems pretty bad of them to try and get around Valve’s copyright this way with that in mind.
    • Dbrand thought they could get away with this Steam Machine case, Valve disagreed by David Uzondu Image via Dbrand Dbrand has cancelled its highly anticipated Companion Cube enclosure for the Valve Steam Machine, which it teased back in November of last year with a concept render and sign-up page, because it did not ask Valve for permission first before manufacturing the case. According to Dbrand, it took the "backwards approach" of building the product first before asking for permission from the copyright holder. Seven months of work went into the project, requiring over a thousand engineering hours from the design team. Workers developed forty-four sets of injection molding tools, making a unique mold for each sub-component of the crate. When the Companion Cube went live on Monday last week, it, according to Dbrand, quickly became the second-fastest-selling product in the company's fifteen-year history, racking up orders for hundreds of thousands of units. Customers eagerly bought the $129.95 deluxe edition or the bare-bones $99.95 version, which the manufacturer cheekily branded as the "Poverty Cube". It was around this time that the legal eagles at Valve descended on the accessory maker with a formal demand. The developer pointed out that the iconic block design remains protected intellectual property from the game Portal, so unlicensed sales had to stop. Dbrand said that all its pleas to salvage the project with the Valve team, including proposals to run a properly licensed release under official terms "with their blessing", fell on deaf ears, so it had no choice but to obey and remove every trace of the product from the internet. If you bought the enclosure, the company said that banks will process your refund by the end of this week, but if it still hasn't arrived in your account by then, you should not hesitate to contact support. The Steam Machine itself is a high-performance console that Valve designed directly to bring PC gaming into the living room. It was announced on 12th November 2025 (the same day Dbrand announced the Cube) and runs on the Linux-based SteamOS, the same OS that powers the Steam Deck. As for the price, due to the shortage of memory and storage chips, the hardware cost landed much higher than people were expecting, starting at $1,049 for the 512 model (without a controller) or $1,128 with the new gamepad. The premium 2 TB model pushes those prices even higher, selling at $1,349 for the standalone console and hitting $1,428 if you want the bundle.
