Canon 50mm 1.8 Quality Issue?

Recommended Posts

Just recently got this lens from Dell.com and looking through the lens itself there appears to be a chip or crack in the middle somewhere.. it doesn't seem to affect the image taken on the cropped sensor (Xsi), may will appear in a FF sensor... but I wonder if this is a norm for this lens.

Should I send it back to Dell or have Canon service it?

Any comment on what to do?

Thanks.

not normal at all.

Why are you buying photo gear on dell.com...?

that does not look right for sure. You should send it back for a new one.

Thanks.. I'll try to send it back for a replacement....

Was looking for a deal.. lol.. lesson learned.
