The more I play this game, the better it gets :D one thing I really like is the references\connections to ME1. While those who never played ME1 obviously won't pick up on them, but for people who did (like myself) it's a nice little nod to the fans (Y) great stuff

Definitely! I got a few good laughs out of many of them. Good to see/hear from some old acquaintances, there were also some returns

like an irritating hovercam toting reporter, and an certain asari who survives Virmire to do the same crap AGAIN.

that make me think I should have perforated them when I had the chance. Overall I'm enjoying it very much

Just because its a video game doesn't mean one has to loose humanity. Its not very pleasant to make decisions from which people suffer.

On my first play i had 100 paragon as well :D

as for romance.. i tried to get it with kelly or miranda, but i only managed garrus :( how unexciting :(

I wonder if it would work with legion :D

im usually in like the middle of both, i make decisions that i would see myself doing in real life... except for punching the reporter, i didnt' see that coming...

I'm wondering if anyone has any special technique they are using when scanning planets for minerals? I'd love to speed this process up as fast I can.

Currently I'm simply holding my Right thumb stick very, very slightly to the left while using the left thumb stick to scan the planet while repeatedly pressing in LT in order to move it faster. Any readings still appear, I just have to go back to the spot and find the highest reading. It seems to be working fairly quickly and I a few short minutes can take a Rich planet to depleted, but damn I'd love to speed this up.

Trying to get all possible weapon/armor upgrades (ship is already done) to up my odds of keeping everyone alive in the Suicided mission.

There is sadly little you can do to increase the speed of scanning planets......there is an upgrade that deals with scanning planets but I honestly did not notice a difference after getting it......it seemed like planets had more materials (first few I did started off poor or moderate at best, after the upgrade they were moderate to rich), but thats it. The way I scan, I basically never let go of the right mouse button, then move the mouse left to right, top to bottom in a sweeping pattern, I try to get a flag close to the edge so when I rotate the planet I can put that flag on the opposite edge to cover the most ground per sweep.

As for the suicide mission, pretty much as long as you have everyone loyal, they will all live. It may change depending on some of your situations and decisions you make for the mission, but I only had a single person not loyal and they were the only person to die. And thats with all the ship upgrades and basically only upgrades that would help me out damage and health wise (literally no biotic or tech upgrades and what not).

Finally got a chance to play this last night once I'd completed ME1 - it's great and it's easy to see the improvements since I've run through ME1 so recently.

I'm a little disappointed with only being able to level up at the end of a mission but the rest of the changes are good. Loving the Incisor Armour and Sniper Rifle :p

I think you mean just the Incisor Rifle (sniper rifle), there is no armor of it...

I have not personally used it, but I love the X-28 Widow (or whatever its called). It only has 13 shots (the Incisor as a total of 20 shots since it fires in 3-shot bursts) and it has to reload after every shot, but it kills Harbringers and Scions in 2 headshots. Not sure how the Incisor compares to the Widow in terms of damage output though, but the Incisor does have more total shots.

I am liking the assault rifle I have (cannot remember its name), it only has 24 loaded shots and 96 extra (120 total) and fires in 3-shot bursts for only 40 total shots, but it is enough to kill all bosses so far in like 6 total well-aimed shots.

That would be the required HDD space yes, but how big is the actual file that you download from stream?

THe game comes on two DVD9 disks, totalling 14.5GB, to the best of my knowledge steam release games as-is so to speak so that should be the size of the download you are looking at.

In that case, its enormous.

I see you're an Australian also.

What ISP deal would allow me to casually download 14 gigs without pushing me close to going over my montly allowance?

Some ISP's such as Internode give unmetered access to some of the server used by steam. You need to do something to set them up though and I am not sure what that is, headover to the whirlpool forums theres a few threads on it or just ask/search in your respective ISP forum.

Oh, wow. I forgot that I pre-ordered Dragon Age: Origins which means I can get the Blood Dragon armour. Does anyone know if the DLC takes effect on an existing career?

What are you playing ME2 on? On the PC, you just need to sign into the bioware site, and there should be a link to download all the DLC you are entitled to.

Once you download all the files, run the installer for each file and the next time you play ME2 you'll get an email in game to let you know the armor is available.

Just have to say, Mass Effect 2 is an amazing game. I got my copy for the PC on Thursday (1 day early), and I'm loving every minute of the game so far. Just started doing some of the characters loyalty missions, I've just completed Miranda's mission, but not got back to the Normandy yet.

I loved the first game, and this one is much better, even though some of the RPG elements have been watered down somewhat.

Anyone on the fence about picking up Mass Effect 2 should definitely buy it. Your missing out if you don't!

    • $80 or 90%, anything else would be financial suicide one way or another.
    • Or... just use Bitwarden. Free, and has on-prem option as well. Works both on desktop and mobile, wherever you are. The age of local password files is over.
    • Thanks
    • I actually got to use one of those so called "backup codes" once. It was for a customer, I choose the backup code option, and by the grace of god, they actually hade them printed out. Imagine my surprise, when after using the backup code, Google then told use we had to enter a code they just sent to the gmail address we currently did not have access to. I was not amused, Google backup codes should be the end all get out of jail free card, because you had to have access to the account to even get them.
    • On the topic of being locked out of a service. Recently two different friends of mine got locked out of their Google accounts. Both were hack attempts and one of them is waiting 30 days before he can get back in. He had backup codes and MFA but not a passkey. It was a browser token hack. Anyhow he has to wait 30 days for the dispute or whatever to end. The other person only had a password and is screwed losing all of the email, docs and years of photos. Google won’t help her at all. Her fault because she had no backup/recovery setup. Enable passkeys if possible. Also do NOT use browser based password managers. If using a cloud service make sure it is one you can fully sync to one of your devices so you can back it up. Like a PC or Mac with some backup drive plugged into it. Google is the worst to use IMHO. You can’t sync your photos at all. You have to use the “Take Out” service which is manual and takes days. That service strips the meta data from your photos. Also Google Docs synced to a device are useless without a Google accounts. MS Office/Libre Office is not going to open a link to a Google doc to a dead account.
