You can choose to start a new game by importing an ME1 or ME2 save from the main menu. Can't answer your other questions.

If you select New Game from the menu, it gives you the option to start new male or female, and import ME1 or ME2, so yes you still can import and continue.

As far as the Collector and Inferno armor, they were bonuses - Collector armor for the collector's edition and the Inferno was a Gamestop pre-order bonus. I doubt that they'll release them as DLC.

Importing a save does next to nothing to change the actual storyline of ME2. You start with a few extra perks such as bonus credits, paragon/renegade points, extra minerals (depending on achievements) and a few other little things. Other then that, importing a save basically adds a few NPCs scattered around the game which give some unique dialogue and possible a few extra paragon/renegade points, but thats about it (such as Wrex,

if Wrex lived through ME1, he is the leader or whatever of Tuchanga, or at least, the town you visit there. If he died, then he is replaced by another NPC

).

So in short, if you do not have a save, your missing out on some possible paragon/renegade points, some money and minerals, and a few humorous dialogue opportunities.

seems not worth it. thanks!

Its interesting and funny, but ultimately there are hardly any differences (if any at all) end-game if you imported a save vs making a new character all together.....not worth playing through the entirety of ME1 just to have a save game to continue IMO.

Yeah, I'm playing through with a fresh character right now (after playing through the first time with an imported character), and the biggest loss is the paragon and renegade points that you gain from your ME1 character. As far as I can tell, the only way that you can max out one of the meters in a single playthrough is to use an imported character. I'm at level 19 right now, and my renegade meter is about halfway full, meaning that certain dialogue options are going to be locked no matter what.

Apart from losing dialogue options, it's still a great experience. You lose out on some references to the first time (the absence of Wrex being the biggest one), but there's nothing major. Oh, and

you don't regain your Spectre status. Again, not a huge deal.

It's clear that the events in this one will effect the 3rd way more than the 1st did to this. Specially the final choice you are given.

The choices are bigger for sure but don't count out the decisions in ME1. I'm betting deciding to save or destroy the Rachni in ME1 alone is going to have a big impact on ME3. Don't forget what it took to destroy just Sovereign, to defeat a fleet of them going to take a hell of a lot more. ME3 is going to be epic for sure :)

Oh that's right, the Rachni is probably the biggest choice in ME1 really. I don't think any of the other ones are of the same importance though.

I disagree, my first playthrough was with a new character (not imported) and I got up to around 80% paragon by endgame. That is with only a 70% bonus (instead of the 100% bonus you can get by that one skill), and pretty much going through the game as quickly as possible (I did the loyalty missions, but nothing else really).

I am sure if I had wanted to I could have easily maxed out Paragon points, even without an imported character.

Really? That's a little more encouraging then. Right now, I have about half of the total Renegade points, and about 1/5 of the total Paragon points, so maybe that's my problem. I should have gone either full Renegade or full Paragon. In that case, I stand corrected.

I will say this much though: if I play through for a third time, I'm going full paragon. It's just too hard for me to be a jerk in this game :).

Finished this game in around 27-28 hours. Full paragon, 20% (give or take ) renegade. All team members survived including myself and all missions and assignments completed. I'm currently in the progress of searching for anomalies outside where the mass relays are. Best game I have played in a long time. Oh, and I didn't keep the reaper for Cerberus, screw that guy.

Finally got that

No One Left Behind achievement

. Now I've cleared the game with a male infiltrator and a female sentinel. It's rare for me to play through a game more than once, but it's even more rare for me to do a second playthrough right after the first. Absolutely amazing game.

I played as a female and slept with Thane. I wonder what that says about my masculinity (or lack thereof).

Just completed ME2 Last night, unfortunatly 2 Chars died :'( ... oh well going to try again with everyone alive this time.

Storyline was epic as expected however in some ways i thought it did not live upto the first one.

  • Could Not Full Explore Citadel Like You could in ME1
  • Missed the Land Vehicle that was used in the first one, that was quite nifty
  • It was short, shorter than ME1 for me (ME1 Took longer to complte imo) Even though ME2 was 2 Discs

Going to have another play through, keep everyone alive this time, for some reason Grunt died even though he was loyal and had all of his upgrades, that was quite annoying.

    • Poll: Grand Theft Auto VI price predictions, cast your vote by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe After years of waiting, Rockstar will be solidifying the launch date of Grand Theft Auto VI with the launch of pre-orders next week. While the studio has confirmed a date for this occasion, it is yet to attach a price to the highly anticipated game. So let's see what our readers think it will cost at launch. The Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders will kick off on June 25 for digital and physical editions. Unless some last-minute changes happen, the release date will be November 19, 2026, across Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, there's still no information about a PC version from the developer or the publisher Take-Two. Now the question becomes, how much will Grand Theft Auto VI cost at launch? The game is predicted by some analysts to be the biggest launch of an entertainment product ever. With the amount of hype that has been built behind it and with ballooning development costs, Take-Two may price this Grand Theft Auto entry differently from other AAA titles. The current price of a AAA game is $69.99. That norm almost rose to $79.99 before calming down. But with such a massive release, Grand Theft Auto VI may be the game that pushes the boundary again. It's also possible that Take-Two keeps the price relatively low to increase the number of players that jump in early and keep them hooked on Grand Theft Auto Online to spend on microtransactions for years to come. Keep in mind that the below poll is asking for a prediction of the standard edition price, not a deluxe or any other special edition that Take-Two will introduce for additional benefits. Also, there is the chance of the company splitting up the campaign and online portions. If you think that will happen, put your vote on what you think will be the total cost of the two.
