Atlas upgrade, not just a new theme

Recommended Posts

Since we upgraded at the end of January to Atlas and IPB3 we have changed the following to make it easier for everyone to contribute to Neowin:

For members:

- Reduced flood control (for posting) from 30 to 10 secs

- Reduced flood control (for searches) from 30 to 10 secs

- Enabled first post editing for everyone (no time restriction)

- Edit any replies for 30mins (instead of 5mins)

- Full Spy, keep track of all content being posted on Neowin

For unregistered:

- No restrictions to view images

- Able to Connect with Facebook rather than having to fill in the Registration form. (this also applies to news comments).

For Subscribers:

- Both Tiers updated, mainly no edit time restriction anywhere.

The Mini Spy is being recoded, we have to remove a lot of the IPB code that we used, because its just too heavy to operate in real time for everyone. Hopefully that will be back real soon as staff are testing this atm.

Hopefully this shows that we are giving more than we ever have in the past, as well as the new theme updates with all its glorious colours!

I miss the mini spy but thanks for the update.

i still want my mini spy :(

You guys both know that the mini spy is being worked on, as you've participated in threads discussing this. It's coming, but we need to get it working first. Neobond explained this in the first post.

Continuing to complain about it isn't going to make it happen any faster.

The reduction in flood control is helpful, flood control is really annoying

Amen!

Especially in searching where you might have mis-typed or though of a better query and then had to wait.
