I think we should hold judgement until we see them for real They're just renders on a presentation, taken with a camera, then resized and compressed. Remember the leaked MDD G4 shots? Ugly as hell, the G4 looks ok doesn't it? I think we should hold fire.

true. all aluminum cases do genernally look good. lets wait to see decent quality pics (Y)

This is a great computer but they price themselves out of the market every single time. The Powermac G4 at its time was the bad ass computer but it didn't sell because they priced themselves out of the market. This is the same thing and I hate to say and I dearly hope I'm wrong but I think that this will not sell well either and they will be back in square one again. Yes they will sell but not any more that the previous PowerMac if not worse.

Well done, this is a news thread so everyone can report back streaming news over the net. Save it for a "Why the Aplpe G5 sucks" thread.

I'm saying where will it stop. How much more will these OS updates be. I'm just saying I don't like the direction they are moving towards. I'll keep this as my last post because I don't want to start a flaming war. Just to put it simple this is not a good direction for them to be moving.

[ 11:53 ] Now the dual G5. Playing smooth. CPU usage appears to be in the 25 to 30 percent range. It's concentrated mainly on one processor, though the second sometimes jumps to 5-10 percent. Now, at the complex portion of the same music, it's flying. Absolutely no stuttering, no cutting out, and processor usage is still the same ? 25-30 percent of one processor, virtually none of the second.

[ 11:55 ] Steve's back to summarize. Photoshop was 2.1x faster. Luxology was 2.3x faster. Wolfram was 2.3x faster. They couldn't get calculations for Logic. In short, in real-world and SPEC tests, Apple has caught up, and surpassed the PC. So what about the future?

Well, within 12 months, Apple and IBM will be at 3 GHz. Much applause. "Believe me, this architecture has legs," Steve says. Now, the obligatory video.
