Hm. Didn't X-2 suck? I understand their point of not having to focus so much on a battle system, but still. Final Fantasy gets a lot of spin-offs as it is.

Also,

You get to experience dramatic moments and big events

Why couldn't we play the opening fight? Damn, that looked fun :(

attack the heads on the side of him first, than go for the middle one. Make sure to have one Com/Rav/Med, and you should be able to beat him. You may also want to set up some Optima's for Com/Rav/Rav and (Com/Rav)/Med/Med, just in case you need to heal your team. You may also want to set an Optima to cast buffs on your team

got him to less then an inch health bar, and he casted doom on me and I got ripped, does he always do that?

Andrew, not sure if you passed it or not. But the Vanille thing is a universally difficult fight for a lot of people. Just set your battle speed to slow and it becomes trivial.

You can do that :| I should set it to fast while grinding.

I had to turn back.. there was no beating him. I took an hour today and found a very sweet spot to sit and grind. I've almost got all 6 characters maxed out on their 3 classes, all are almost level 4, without anymore room to grow.

All bosses will cast Doom on you if you don't complete them fast enough.. sounds like you need to head back and grind for 20-30 mins more

You're close tho :)

From what I've heard, bosses will cast doom on you if you take too long to finish the fight. It's kind of annoying, but if you go back in with a decent strategy it shouldn't happen again.

What the f is with the gatling gun attack by the valco-bike enemies? that thing is just brutal.

The only way I figure you can survive that thing is with sen/med and having hope casting cure at the time of attack. Most of the time I cannot pull it off in time.

are the summons enroute to the end, as in is there any way possable to accidentialy miss them ?

only asking cause im close to leaving the junkyard after the crystal lake thing, and only have the Shiva Sisters atm ( which snow isnt playable atm )

I really haven't minded the linearity; it all makes sense as far as the story goes. Until Ch. 11 (which I just got to), they really don't HAVE time to dawdle around towns and find side-quests. Sometimes I like having sprawling dungeons to explore and find "secret" treasures and sometimes I don't. It's nice to not have to grind for experience for once. If every RPG was like, say, Phantasy Star II (one of my all-time faves, btw), I'd be sick of the genre by now.

You can't miss them, so don't worry about that.

each character gets one, and it is impossible to miss them. The story will lead you right into more summons.

Try using a shroud before going into battle especially the one with haste in it, it's unbelievable how easy the battle becomes.

k, thnx for the replies, due to the one person above sayign he took one path and got to a mecha and gave up on it, then took the other path didnt know if the summon locations were off on deadends or something like the loot balls

You were probably reading my post :p I really don't want to spoil the game for you, but if you insist..

Chapter 11 - Gran Pulse, you have free-range to run around and fight any monster of your choosing. You can do side-quests, which are located in Gran Pulse (and this place is HUGE!). These however, have nothing to do with Chapter 11, other than to "grind" your way up to a higher level before continuing with the story. I tried grinding (obviously not enough) and went to continue Chapter 11, stumbling upon Vanille's summon. The only way across this section of the game, is to beat the summon and capture it. I don't come close to beating it, so I turned around to go back to Gran Pulse and grind.

There :p

the thing is Andrew, this game is designed and able to be beaten WITHOUT ever grinding. even for eidelon battles. it is 100% optional if you want to over power yourself. but is by no means neccesary. there are methods, and like i said. without grinding at all and just putting the battle speed to slow, you can win that battle. even on sphere level 3 with vanille.

My friend got stuck on that too, he died about 20 times and I told him to switch it to slow and he finished it first try and laughed at how trivial it became. are you libra'ing it and reading what makes it's gauge increase the fastest?

Finally got it today. I'm 3 hours in and loving it so far. It looks amazing and loving the music so far. I don't know why but I like the battle song.

I haven't used it a lot but the Crystarium system looks very similar to Sphere Grid of FFX. That is something I really liked about FFX.

You are probably further than me in one day/session

I don't have the patience to play the new FF's for long periods. An hour and a half is about as much as I can stomach.

Where are you in the game?

Im in the Frozen Lake, don't remember the name.

If you can beat this game, without ever grinding, i'll personally give you my Xbox360 and my game :p

    • Meta launches new AI glasses in 26 styles and Muse Spark multimodal capabilties by Pradeep Viswanathan Meta today announced a new line of Meta Glasses in partnership with EssilorLuxottica. The new AI glasses build on the company’s existing smart glasses portfolio, which is sold under the Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta brands. The new Meta Glasses start at just $299, are compatible with prescription lenses, and will be available in 26 styles across different colors, lenses, and frames. At launch, Meta Glasses will be available in three frame styles. The Meta Adventurer features a clean rectangular design and comes in Standard and Large sizes. The Meta Fury is a bolder frame for users who want a stronger look. Meta Glasses by Kylie is a slim oval frame designed in collaboration with Kylie Jenner. Similar to existing Meta AI Glasses, the new Meta Glasses include a dedicated action button that can be used to quickly access Meta AI or launch a favorite feature. They also feature open-ear speakers for calls, music, and more. Meta has also included a multi-mic array with wind noise reduction for calls and messaging. Users can capture photos and videos hands-free using voice commands. Meta claims more than eight hours of battery life, while the portable charging case can provide up to 40 additional hours. As expected, Meta Glasses come pre-loaded with Meta AI powered by Muse Spark from day one. Muse Spark is the first model from Meta Superintelligence Labs with improved multimodal capabilities. The same Meta AI upgrade is also now available on existing Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta Glasses in the US and Canada via an update. With the Muse Spark-powered AI assistant, Meta AI in the new glasses can provide smarter answers, understand what the user is seeing, and help with daily tasks such as calendar management and navigation. Meta also announced an upcoming feature called the dynamic photo feature, which captures multiple frames and recommends the best one. Pedestrian navigation is also coming soon to these glasses. Meta is also adding support for 14 new live translation languages, including Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Hindi, and Korean. The new Meta Glasses are available starting today through Meta.com, Best Buy, Amazon, LensCrafters, Sunglass Hut, and select retailers.
    • is that a personal preference? whether it is or isn't, i get where you're coming from. i try to get and use fully open sourced applications whenever i can but there are instances where i find a superior product that is closed sourced. in these cases i do my best to learn about the company, who operates it, their background, parent and sub structure etc. to some extent, depending on "the smell test". i really believe that Syncback is really and truly something great. even if you don't use it, it's always worth a recommendation to someone else, especially if that someone else is not very computer literate. for someone of your calibre you, you'll manage just fine with Syncthing, no doubt about it.
    • I agree, especially if it is cloud sourced, like this one is.. but I wouldn't say no to a local AI assistant similar to the Zettlab one which would be really helpful with my large Photos library, but also to perform tasks like installing Docker apps rather than me having to do it via Docker Compose, but I don't think we're quite there yet. Synology Photos is somewhat AI, you can ask it to search for certain people (if you have tagged them and it will attempt to match similar photos to the person) and if you put a search term in for "cars" for example, it will show you all photos with a car.
