Final Fantasy 14 beta for PS3.

It gives you 50 points (sorta like Nintendo Points) they will also give you another code (20 digit redemption code) That can be used for 1 of 2 things, Either get a free in game item (yet to be announced) for Final Fantasy IV or, Put it in while you fill out the App for the Final Fantasy IV Beta, and have a better chance of getting in However they still do not guarantee you a spot.

Out of curiosity how long does that take to do? No longer owning a 360 (since before the NXE) I have no Idea how long it takes to copy a game the the Hard Drive.

It took about 15 minutes to install all the discs. Usually my 1 disc games are about 5 minutes to install.

I went to the midnight release at Gamestop. I went 2 hours earlier and hung out in the B&N that's connected to it. Got second in line.

First couple of us that went in and out looked at the line and were like "Holy ****". There were a good 100 people waiting in line.

Bought the LE strategy guide with the game. Love the quality of it. Though it smells oddly like Lysol...

Number 12,995/210,000.

Man, I gotta beat Star Ocean before I start on this.

the Gamestop I went to had about 30 people there at midnight, a lot of intense loud fanboys in lines having convos with eachother and it was embarrasing to hear them talk about it so passionately haha.

I guess I'm still one of those quiet fanboys and don't flaunt it.

I imported mine 2 months ago so its nothing new to me but of course I love this game as I've stated in various other threads on here about it. well worth purchasing again, I got my LE guide book hardcover from Amazon the day before actually so that was nice.

All my Japanese version trophies are named the same so the game isn't giving me any new ones until I get passed the point I stopped at on the Japanese import.

Looks like 3D support inbound

As if the night couldn't get any better, Sid Shuman, senior social media specialist for PlayStation, was handed what appears to be 3D specs. Does this mean Final Fantasy XIII may be getting the 3D treatment sometime soon? More-so, was it available at the event? Only time will tell. But if there's one game that would look absolutely stunning in 3D, it's definitely Final Fantasy XIII.

played it for a couple of hours. liking it so far. story is just getting started, still kinda confused (like who isn't they first start playing an FF game?) but im liking it. Oh and i never thought i would find a game prettier then uncharted but we have a winner...

Quite true, it's definitely not the script writing (so far) or that annoying as hell girl with red hair

ughhhhh.......what is up with the voice actor ... it's like a badly dubbed Anime :/ All the other voice overs are great (even the little annoying kid) but this red head's voice is stupid as hell. This is why I wanted the japanese voices in there.... ugh.

Yeah, the story is still a little :s to me too, and i'm pretty deep in.

Who said this game was 60+ hours? I'm sure i'm passed the half way point already :| I've been on Disc 2 for awhile. I didn't think i'd even be off of Disc 1 for a good 4+ days.. but here we are.. lol

So far so good. I set battle speed to slow though, and haven't used auto attack much, battles remind me of the other FF's though, minus multiple char control. No idea what the battle gripes were about as it seems normal( xcept controlling one char)

I thought judging by peoples opinions the battle system when full opened up is the games strongest point.

I'm not very far so far i just got to

Odin. He hammered me, could be because i thought he would heal me like the Shiva battle or the fact i'm stuck with Hope who is useless. I can't wait till i can change party members manually because he will be gone and hidden. Either way i'm not a fan of these Eidolon battles because their Gestalt gauge goes up so slow. Even when i cast Libra on them and find out what they like.

Yeah, this is one of the reasons I might not pick it up. They were going to include the Japanese voices on the PAL release but it got pulled for some reason?

I read a somewhere in an interview with SE that they pulled Jap audio support for the PS3 because the Xbox version couldn't handle it and they wanted to keep the two versions as similar as possible.

I couldn't even play FF12 because of the American voice acting. I waited so long for that game and was so excited, then on the day of release I took a day off from work to play and found that the bad guys all sounded like 19th century chimney sweeps.

There is an 'undub' of FF12 available now thanks to some dedicated fans (Japanese audio with English menus and subs). You know where to look.

I use a ps2 emulator on the PC called PCSX2, the newest release candidate runs perfectly, and with all the bells and whistles a PC graphics card can throw at it, the game looks pretty sweet.

I can upload some screenies and maybe an in game video if anyone is interested (I've got a video capture card too so I can do a comparison between the game running on the PS2 and running on the PC if you like).

OMG Hope is soooo annoying, I already wish he would leave my party!!! 2.5 hours in and FINALLY im starting the game, seems a bit much since I never really played any of the others, but hey, i got some free time so i thought i would give the game a try. looks great so far.

I failed so many times in that battle, not from the beating but the bloody timer running out. Eventually learned he had a pattern which was easy to take advantage of. Got onto the 2nd disc a while ago and I'm not liking these 2 man teams so far, a bit too restrictive for my liking... :/ I want a 3 man team now :(

Japanese audio is actually going to make the story good?

Have you seen/heard/read the story from FF? It's not for everybody I admit but you have to accept that people across the globe will love the story as they have with every other FF game so rather than posting this sort of stuff, don't? I've seen the same sort of comments in the Heavy Rain thread from you. I don't see the need for it personally.

Now I understand you are welcome to your opinion but you are going a bit OTT imo. Anyway, nuff said as I don't want an argument with you over this, you seem a decent chap.

there are 13 chapters, each chapter is different in length. chapter 11 is when it opens up to missions and almost everything is unlocked by that point. The story unless you can somehow blast through it will take 30-35 hours, but if you do missions grinds and go for achievements/trophies it WILL last you nearly 80 or more.

@ (spork) switch to Sentinel and auto-battle constantly and he will start using a skill that almost nullifys all physical damage and then the other sister will heal if he ever goes down. Just keep doing that until the meter gets high enough for you to hit square to get into gestalt mode, then it's over.

For everyone else with issues on the Eidelon battles, the best thing to do for them if you fail the first time and you restart, is to turn the battle speed to slow. it makes it a lot easier for getting used to their patterns.

Also, there are ways to get quick actions in place before the ATB gauge is completely full. if you hit triangle(on ps3) or i think Y on the 360, it will skip the rest of the ATB gauge from filling out and it will execute that action you have queued up first right away, it is EXTREMELY helpful in the Odin fight as you can get a heal off much faster that way instead of waiting for the full ATB gauge.

    • Yup, broke my comp… again. its times like this when I regret AMD. This just never happens on NV.
    • Huh? You're delusional calling the Steam Deck dead. It is so successful that it has sold out multiple times. Even after the price hike this year it sold out again with 24 hours of being back in stock. The demand is real and has not died down even after four years.
