I found it kind of odd how you could just get by only taking out enemies that are in your way and still do fine...until Chapter 11. I must've spent 2 or 3 hours getting CP just so I would be able to get past a stupid Box Phalanx and its robot goons easily.

Really? So I've been fighting everything & anything for no reason? Grr lol

That's why you have free range in Gran Pulse. What is coming up, is super hard too, you may want to go grinding.

A good tip: Just before the cave entrance, are two beasts fighting, one black, one white. Go fight that, but use all of your players to attack the black animal first and you NEED to kill him before he transforms. Than focus on the white monster. Fastest 6600CP you'll ever get. I got that battle down to roughly 42 seconds each round. Once it's finished, run up the hill, just slightly past the save point, turn around and rinse and repeat.

I'm VERY close to the end of the game right now actually and that's the spot I'm using for CP.

Probably another hour or two of grinding and I should be able to get through that last stretch.

How did you beat

vanille's summon

I tried before, but ended up turning around to power level.. now all my characters have all 3 main roles maxed at lv4. I'm saving the rest of the CP, cause i know lv5 unlocks shortly.

If you've maxed out their primary roles and enough of their secondary ones you should be fine I think. The key thing I did to prepare for that battle after losing so many times was to boost the characters' HP as much as needed. I think the ones I used in that battle had at least 3000 each. Key thing to boost the bar is Vanille as Saboteur and spam Deprotect and such. If you want to know the paradigm setups I can tell you those too if you want.

Most of my characters are over 4000, and 2 of them over 5000! I think I might have over-developed my characters for this fight. There is a few more spells I want to get for Fang, than I am going to continue.

Thanks :)

Im in a skyship and when i look down OMG its soooo beautiful!!! Just my 3rd summon today and also got snow back...kinda lol. OMG he has alot of stored up CP lol.

:o I wish I did that.

and I FINALLY!

beat vanille's summon, with honestly, seconds left! I set up 4 casts, and when it was doing its thing, I button mashed X over and over again, and finally captured him with about 17 "doom" seconds left

About time! Now i'm off to the

tower

I beat

Cid Raines, i changed my team around so Fang was in the squad but i forgot to set a paradigm with saboteur in for slow (i thought it was in sentinel). Still i managed to beat him quite easily.

Just started in Gran Pulse now and going to spend this evening grinding. I might go look for the cave and try and get the 6600cp each time because at the moment i was pre-empting King Behemoth where you first enter Gran Pulse and i am only getting 4000cp each time. I can beat him quite easily when he staggers but if he isn't he can do this move that hits one of my party members for 16k or he transforms and cures all his hp. Did some grinding last night and now their primary roles are maxed out at lvl 4 and they are all at ATB Level 5 (except Vanille). Going to at least get all their current roles maxed out at lvl 4 tonight. Not the other roles that require stupid amounts of cp at lvl 0.

yeah, i'm also at this bit, greater behamoths dont give 4000cp do they?! im sure they only give like 400!

btw where is the cave? i just beat cid raines, who was pretty easy imo, and im running through now, it's so long and repetitive this bit, i can't wait to move on, I also maxed out lightnings weapon too, level 25 is the max

Follow the arrow. It will lead you to the monsters that give off 6600cp. They are near a save point, outside of the cave entrance fighting. I'll try to find a map for you

In Gran Pulse the purple Behemoths are called King Behemoths and they give you 4000cp. I think the green ones are Great Behemoths.

at the chapter 9 boss, can someone give me a strategy please, as I can't beat the guy, I keep laying into him but I get wiped out with that charged move he does.

When he charges just hit him with everything you got, he will "ughh" if you do enough damage, then get him to do it once more so when he fires that attack it will only do about 150 damage. I actually found this boss to be quite easy, although i did clear up his heads pretty easily.

I posted this a few pages back, and just reposting it for some help...

What do you guys do with your upgraded elemental gear after you've completed an elemental-heavy boss battle?

I almost always feel like I've wasted components

I kind of want to sell them or dismantle them but I don't know how useful they'll be for future battles

Oh wow. On chapter 7 and wow the story suddenly picked up. Still not overly keen on Vanille, it's like they're trying to make her mysterious or something but right now she's just irritatingly chirpy. I wanna keep playing and playing and playing but I have to drag myself away and deal with things IRL like food and sleep :(

I'm currently at around 34 hours on chapter 11, and now the game won't play anymore.

It froze while running around and since then my PS3 freaks out with the disk, can't eject it properly, can't read it, can't turn off.

I even got an error message with the disk that apparently means the disk drive has died, but other games work fine.

From what I assume, the streaming of data constantly over about the 3 days it took to get there has worn out the drive and is having problems Reading the dual layer.

Though I'm not the only one, a good number of people seem to be havig a problem with the game and not Reading/ejecting and giving up on cutscenes.

Dunno what to do really, I want to finish the game, but can't get any further wihout freezing and buying a whole new PS3 for one game seems a bit excessive.

This?

what i done was used hope, fang, and lightning, took out his heads from right to left, once they were gone I kept attacking him, as soon as he started to power up for destrudo i healed to full using potions and a medic class (as hope), used lightning as commando, and used fang as sentinel. IF YOU EVER get very close to death immediately summon odin, make sure u also have about 20 potions and maybe a few phoenix downs.

So this being my first FF game I've played from the beginning I wasn't sure what to expect. The amount of game play required in order just to beat the game is enormous, i was just reading about weapon upgrades and man its going to take me forever lol. Oh well, im so sad I passed a good source for Gill farming :-(

You can beat the game and be done with it at about 32-35 hours if you go straight for it. But its fun to get all the trophies/achievements. and in the PS3 case you get themes. Do you get dashboard themes on the 360 version?

I'm going for full 100% completion, I've never done that in a game ever but I am for this. If the PS2 had trophy support during those FF games I would have done them too seeing as I've played X and XII at least 3 full times with each save over 90 hours.

In Gran Pulse the purple Behemoths are called King Behemoths and they give you 4000cp. I think the green ones are Great Behemoths.

hmm they're really hard for me atm, the little dogs are the fastest, theres one place where theres 4 of them and you get like 1800cp in like less then a minute

pre-emptive. the Behemoth and stagger him then just go all out attack and have Sazh haste everyone. Soon as i entered gran pulse i could kill them in about 40 seconds, now i kill it in about 25 seconds. Only pre-emptive though otherwise it will still kick my ass.

Nearly maxed out my characters at lvl 4. Then back to the story.

    • There is a default resolution setting in Settings > Display that can be changed with a click. You can also change the settings on a per-game basis. No CLI needed. Also, Steam has countless games that are not "[perpetual] alpha/beta games", so no need for the straw man. Plus you can use other stores as well. And console games (e.g. PS5) cost a fortune, which itself more than negates the price subsidy on the system, unless you plan on exclusively playing 1 or 2 games. It's true that you shouldn't buy a system that doesn't support the game(s) you want to play, but I think that's kinda obvious, and applies to every console as well as PC. I don't game in the living room and have no need of a Steam Machine, but there is a clear market segment that would find it useful.

RSS Guard 5.2.0 changelog: Added: Feed auto-fetch can now also be delayed while Feral GameMode is active on Linux and startup auto-fetch is skipped when GameMode is already active. (#2265) WebEngine builds can now use RSS Guard generated proxy auto-config (PAC) rules so article/web browsing follows per-account and per-feed proxy settings more closely. (#2273) Generated PAC rules now also cover related subdomains and use Public Suffix List data, so feeds such as feeds.bbc.co.uk can also proxy resources from images.bbc.co.uk. (#2273) Standard feeds can now define extra proxy domains, useful when article images, stylesheets or other page resources are loaded from a CDN or another domain that should use the same feed proxy. (#2273) RSS Guard now asks for proxy credentials when a WebEngine page needs proxy authentication and can fill credentials from the current feed proxy when available. (#2273) Network settings again include an option to ignore all cookies, which clears stored cookies and prevents new cookies from being accepted. Standard RSS/ATOM feeds can now individually ignore cookies while downloading feed data. Stored cookies can now be deleted from the Tools menu. Custom skin colors can now override the feed list article count color separately from feed titles, including a separate highlighted color. (#2275) Settings dialog can now search across available settings and highlight matching controls. (#1754) Standard RSS/ATOM feeds can now optionally be reported as broken when they are valid but contain no articles. (#2039) Standard RSS/ATOM feeds can now override the application-wide feed connection timeout per feed. (#1023) Tray icon can now use a custom background color and unread-count text color, with an option to reuse the generated icon as the application icon. (#1973) Support for more benevolent parsing of Gemlog entries (#2295). Article list can now show when an article was received by RSS Guard. (#947) Feed deep discovery now actually scrapes all links found in the website and checks if they are feeds or not. This greatly enhances usability of the deep discovery mode and discovers many more feeds than before. (#2306) Search boxes now show a small dot when the feed or article list is hiding some items because of active filtering. (#873) Articles now have a shortcut-assignable action to open the homepage of the feed they belong to. (#2060) Fixed: Parallel feed updates no longer crash when multiple update results are processed at the same time. (64cf521) Links in WebEngine articles opened from feeds such as Kill the Newsletter now open correctly instead of being swallowed by the embedded page. (#2272) Relative article URLs resolution was kinda broken. (#2282) Clicking article URL did not work when the URL had "fragment" set. (#2293) The default proxy setting now uses Qt/system default proxy behavior instead of forcing no proxy. (e0263ad) WebEngine article loading now keeps the current feed context, so feed-specific proxy credentials remain available while the article page loads.
