So i just got a PS3 for free

I'm with everyone else on this. Little Big Planet, the Ratchet & Clank Future series (Tools of Destruction, Quest For Booty, & Crack In Time), Heavy Rain, the God of War Collection, and BlazBlue are great games. In addition, I suggest buying ModNation Racers when it comes out; like Little Big Planet, it's under the "Play-Create-Share" system, a perfect little racer for when you tire of GT5. Disgaea 3 is a excellent turn-based Strategy RPG that doesn't REQUIRE knowledge of the first two games (on PS2) to play, and it's got excellent downloadable content to try. I'll also go out on a limb and suggest picking up a few Playstation Network cards and trying out the selection they have on there; If I'm not mistaken, the PS3 can play PSone Classics, right?

Finally, I suggest trying Final Fantasy XIII. It seems to be a required game to get from a couple of people I know.

@panacea

Tekken 6,GT5 and God of War III are all games that are part of successfull series all these years and i think we can all say that for example Tekken 6 is the best Tekken so far the same way GT5 will be the best GT and God of War III the best God of War so far.I have Tekken 6 on my psp and it GREAT even in that little portable console. As for GT5 and God of War III i surely havent played them but i've seen gameplay videos and combined with the prequels of these games which i own (PS2),i think i can get a good feeling of what these games will be like to play.

So i think these titles along with other big hits are always a safe way to go.

On another note i think i have build my list:

Tekken 6

Gran Turismo 5

God of War III

Rachet & Clank: Tools of Destruction (It is the cheaper Rachet&Clank i found :D)

Metal Gear Solid IV

Having GT5 anf GoW 3 on my list gives me some time to collect more money since these games have not been released yet.

I respect the opinion of the people saying about PS3 exclusive also big hit games like Uncharted and Infamous and i agree that is why i will probably get them later on the future.

With regards on LBP, i own the game on PSP and i have played around 4 levels of it and didnt really enjoy it that much.Is the game that different (not in graphics terms of course) on PS3?

Am i missing something, coz i know it is a well known respected game but i still haven't understood why.

LBP is not my thing either. but you would be missing out if you skip uncharted 2.

infamous was pretty good for me, but i can see people disliking it... however uncharted 2 was really fun, after the intro level. i'd definately recommend it to you.

just got god of war 3. it is pretty good. but it was not as involving as uncharted 2. i guess killing gods is not an cool for me as "real" life simulation of uncharted.

my advice... but a used copy of uncharted 2, and wait for the price of god of war 3 to come down.

Thank you again for your suggestion but.......

........i am kinda dissapointed from PS3 so far.

I logged on Playstation Store and downloaded a lot of demos to play till i buy some games just to see what PS3 is capable of.I was not impressed at all for a console that has the highest price tag out there and definetely the best technical specifications.

These are the demos i tried:

Soulcalibur

Ninja Gaiden

God of War 3

Need for Speed Shift

Sonic Unleashed

NHL 2k9

NBA 2k9

Iron Man

Ridge Racer 7

Formula1 (dont remember the exact title but it must be old since it had M.Schumacher in Ferrari team)

I downloaded more demos too which i cant remeber right now.

Anyway i know that i did not download any PS3 exclusives but i expected that all games would have more amazing graphics from what i saw since PS3 is a beast. The only demo which somewhat lived up to my expectations was God of War 3 and not so much for its graphics but for its gameplay.i really enjoyed it.

However on the other games i felt like i was playing some 2nd gen console. For example Soulcalibur felt to me like the good old Soulcalibur on Dreamcast.Same thing on Sonic Unleashed.

Then i started NHL2k9 and NBA2k9.Little superior graphics but no big difference then playing sports games on my PS2.

And the worst thing that happened to me:

Some days ago i was on a store and tried Forza 3 on Xbox 360.The game was AMAZING.It had everything i wanted.Very well designed tracks (not only stupid race tracks but also country sightseings, mountains, cities etc),awesome (i mean awesome) controls (the handling was pure joy) and pretty nice graphics. Now singe i have a PS3 i youtubed some videos thinking we PS3 owners some day will get a better racing game called GT5.Now i am aware that the game has not been released yet but from comparison videos i was dissapointed.maybe Gt5 will have slightly superior graphics but i did not see any tracks like Forza3 (maybe it has such tracks but not showing them on the videos?) and i hope the handling is not the same as it was on all GT series. From videos so far and owning EVERY single Gran Turismo game so far it gives me the sense of a boring game that will have graphics and many cars and that is all.

I do not want to start a flame or anything and of course these are my opinions but i thought sharing them see if anyone else feels that way.Maybe my dissapointment was due to my very high expectations mostly coz of the powerful hardware.Personally i would not buy a PS3 and certainly i dont think it worths 350 euros (that is how much it costs here).Speaking strictly for gaming i would leave it for Xbox 360 anytime. It works better as a media center but for games i am not that sure.

But that's just me.

PS: I connect my PS3 to a 1080p TV via HDMI.

    • I agree. I also think Phil stayed too long. They should definitely fire whoever thought all a console platform needed was Call of Duty, Elder Scrolls, and Fallout to survive. Asha and crew are still saying they need more Elder Scrolls and Fallout games. They simply don't get it.

    • Mozilla highlights Firefox Nova 2026 redesign and more upcoming features with new roadmap by Sayan Sen Last month Mozilla confirmed that Firefox was set to get a major redesign this year. Dubbed "Project Nova", it can already be tested and will roll out to all users later this year. The idea is to keep the browser competitive in a rapidly evolving internet landscape. As such the revamp focuses on improving privacy, usability, performance, accessibility, and customization. Key privacy features including the built-in VPN, private browsing mode, and Enhanced Tracking Protection, will be more visible and easier to manage, while users will have the option to disable AI features entirely through a dedicated kill switch. Additionally, the redesign promises faster page loading, the return of Compact mode, expanded personalization options, and stronger accessibility support. You can find the full details in the dedicated piece linked above. In a new blog post today the company once again reiterated on Nova and also emphasized other new and upcoming features like the settings revamp that is intended to make it easier for users to understand browser settings. In order to make it simpler for users to keep up with such features Mozilla today is launching Firefox roadmap. Hence enthusiasts and interested users will be able to check out what's cooking and also share feedback about the upcoming additions. Alongside the roadmap announcement, Mozilla also highlighted what's new in Firefox 152. One of the biggest additions is the arrival of Tab Groups on Android. The feature, which has already been helping desktop users organize large numbers of tabs, is now beginning to roll out on mobile. Users will be able to group related tabs together, assign names and colors to them, and return to them later. Mozilla says support for iOS will arrive later this year. Firefox 152 also introduces the aforementioned redesigned Settings experience. The company says the changes are meant to make controls easier to find and help users discover features they may not have previously known about. Existing preferences are not changing, though they are now better organized. Another notable addition is the new Blocked Tracker Widget, which provides a visual overview of Firefox's privacy protections by showing how many trackers have been blocked over time and the types of tracking activity the browser has stopped. Looking ahead, Mozilla revealed several upcoming roadmap features. They include customizable keyboard shortcuts, as well as enhanced PDF editing tools that will allow documents to be split, merged, and reorganized directly within Firefox. The company is also working on bringing Multi-Account Containers into the native Firefox experience thus removing the need for a separate extension. Meanwhile Firefox's built-in VPN is set to expand to mobile devices. Mozilla is also developing AI-powered features like Quick Answers, which can provide concise responses to voice queries, and Smart Window, its optional AI browsing experience that is now available without a waitlist. Finally, a new Power Saving Mode is in the works and will help reduce the impact of resource-heavy tabs on mobile devices in order to extend battery life. The video below summarizes the upcoming changes in an easy to understand format: You can find the announcement blog post here on Mozilla's official website.
    • Dead on arrival at that price. Like they missed the mark by multiple hundreds of dollars - this should actually undercut the Macbook Air at $899 if they want any sort of sales / further adoption of WoA
