From my understanding if someone has the Gamestop one we can play with them. And I know a few people who are going the Gamestop route. I did Amazon awhile back since when I ordered it was $55 for LE and I also get game day delivery.

You are correct. As long as you have a friend who purchases the Gamestop version, they can invite anyone to join them in a squad deathmatch game.

So apparently, the new client has worked wonders for dual core users.

Major FPS improvement.

YAY!! I can't wait to get home and try it.. Maybe I can even take it off DX9 now

Interesting. I'm about to play so I'll report back if there are any performance improvements.

- Improved hit-detection - We've gone through the hit detection logic, and client+server will now give more consistent results.

So... Less somehow missing a direct sniper shot on a standing still player now?

Overall performance seems like its been improved. And I definitely noticed the improved hit detection. It's much easier to snipe now. Oddly enough, I've been getting a lot of one-shot sniper kills that aren't headshots. Also, connecting to a server seemed a little faster.

One thing that really bugs me is that when I'm trying to change my kit because the situation calls for something else or I'm out of ammo and someone on my team keeps rezzing me. That's really annoying. One situation I even told the guy to stop and he kept doing it....

Just for everyone to see actual game play I recorded some the other night a threw it on youtube. As you can see for the most part it runs smoothly & just remember I take a huge performance hit when im recording in full HD.

The specs of my system are in the video notes to the right.

Cool video. Also I gotta ask...music?

well I was in a similar situation as yourself, I downloaded the demo going into it with the same " military shooter time GO " mentality,

needless to say I caught 10 tankshells to the face and then said " **** it this game sucks "

a couple of days later I thought I'd give the game another chance and thank god I did, I hate to use the word but bc2 is an military sandbox fps

You can do whatever you want as long as it pertains to "war". That is you cant have a teaparty but you can pick

the recon class parachute down to the spawnpoint

toss some c4 on an atv , jump on said atv

drive the atv over a cliff while you parachute down to safety

watch as your flying bomb strikes an already damaged tank

the tank blows up but the drivers escape,

not soo fast

you shoot one of them in the face with your rifle, slide down the cliff

and pop the other one with your m9,

sneak by some pipes and get control of a UAV-drone station

hover above the map as you wreck havoc and terror on your enemies

spot the ones you cant reach, your friendly bradley will shoot out the walls of the house theyre hiding in and watch as the place crumbles and kills everybody inside

your medic buddy takes a sniper shot to the head, quickly grab his kit and use that defibrilator on him and bring him back to life, he'll thank you later

use your ghilliesuit to its full potential as you hide in some bushes and shoot the guys defending the base with stationary MGs,

Now you and your medicbuddy are heading to that sweetass apache AH-64 that the defenders are stupid enough to reject. Youll pilot that sucker as your buddy turns the remaining enemies to swiss cheese with that minigun of his.

And then it hit me, " wait, wait...this is just the demo! A demo shouldnt be allowed to be this god damn awesome "

Then I sit back and think of all the classes and kits, of all the modes and maps, every single game will turn out differently. Just like a fighting game, dynamic, fluid, each round different from the next.

Oh and it has SP

Thanks. The music should pop up at the ad spot in the video, but oh well. It's a band called Volbeat & the song is called "Still Counting"

Oh god, not Volbeat - Another blemish on Danish history :p

But Excellent video, Fiver. A suggestion though - When you convert the movie, do it by using a profile that holds the exact resolution of the footage you have, then you will avoid the black borders and have the video take up the entire player, like on YouTube.

That song took a turn for the worst halfway through. :s

I can't believe the changes to the hit detection, it's amazing! So spot on. I was downloading and almost maxing out my connection, I was lagging around but hit detection was still perfect.

(Y)

It's much better eh. I love it! :)

Hahaha. Talk about being excited for a game...

Just got done playing my first round with the demo (yea I know late to the party :p). I finished second on our team with 2102 points and was pleasantly surprised considering it was my first game. Can the tank driver not fire the turret and a machine gun?

    • This seems backwards. You should have to explicitly authorize files for outside use. It shouldn't be the default.
    • Wow you are right, I never even noticed this until you said it! (870E Aorus Master) Before testing this card I had a TP-Link tx401 10GbE PCIe card in that slot (now using XikeStor 310 Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter).
    • Lack of 5.1 makes this a no sale. What I really wish creative would make would be a USB version that supports 5.1 analog audio for speakers, can switch to headphone mode, and matches the specs of their top tier cards. The current X870E AMD motherboards dont have a great option for adding a PCIE x1 card without cutting down pcie lanes to the graphics card.
    • The Microsoft Office feature that time forgot by Usama Jawad I have been actively using Microsoft Word for the past couple of decades in academic, professional, and personal capacities. Although I used it through the perpetual version of Office apps at the start, I have been an active subscriber of Microsoft 365 Family subscription for over five years now. This means that my Word installation is regularly updated with new features, some of which I don't really like, but that's beside the point. As new features get continuously added, old ones that used to be a staple of Word have started to take a backseat. While I was reminiscing over my Windows experiences from my childhood today, I suddenly remember one such capability that I heavily used in my younger years but have not really touched in over a decade, and haven't seen in documents created by others either. That feature is WordArt. Just to clarify, WordArt is not a Microsoft product specific to Word, and is included in other Office apps like PowerPoint and Excel too. However, Microsoft Word is the app that I used Word Art in heavily, while making assignments or other deliverables for school. If you're unaware, WordArt offers a collection of styling techniques for text, introducing 3D effects like shadows and reflections in the text. It used to be one of the coolest things ever when I was at school and me and my classmates would often compete to ensure that our assignment's title in WordArt was truly the best and stood out above the rest. See some examples of WordArt, still present in the latest versions of Word below: Although WordArt is undeniably cool, it has taken a bit of a backseat, and has been relegated from the Home tab to the Insert toolbar, along with a bunch of other utilities, making it very easy to miss. This isn't exactly surprising because WordArt doesn't really have a place in academic and professional documents anymore, and while I have seen some creatives using it while developing promo material, even that sector has gravitated more towards dedicated graphic designing tools in the past years. For the vast majority of us, WordArt doesn't really exist, and that's alright. At least, it's still an option that can allow us to reminisce our childhood or even make some quick text stylization, if we really need it. Perhaps its usage has waned over time or the novelty has worn off, but I haven't even seen children use it in their academic assignments anymore. In fact, many don't even know that it exists. Maybe that's the fate of every beloved feature. What once felt cutting edge eventually becomes a relic, quietly tucked away as tastes, trends, and technology move on. WordArt may no longer dominate school assignments or decorate the covers of classroom projects, but for those of us who grew up with it, it remains a colorful reminder of a time when making text glow, bend, and cast giant shadows felt like the height of creativity. Hidden behind a few clicks in modern Word, it still survives not as a productivity tool, but as a small piece of computing nostalgia that refuses to disappear.
