Oh god, not Volbeat - Another blemish on Danish history :p

But Excellent video, Fiver. A suggestion though - When you convert the movie, do it by using a profile that holds the exact resolution of the footage you have, then you will avoid the black borders and have the video take up the entire player, like on YouTube.

I was wondering why I was getting that border. So you say I should not use Windows movie maker? Or is there a setting I need to change in it? I only use it because it is pretty easy to quickly stitch movie clips together & export.

Windows Movie Maker is 'okay' as it's easy to use but the customization options are next to none.

It's also a guaranteed way to spoil footage with black borders because the output options are so abysmal.

I can highly recommend Sony Vegas, it's very easy to use but really a powerful tool and you will have a plethora of options when it comes to rendering the footage.

Sorry about the double-post I just had to share the bi-product of too much coffee and waking up early on a Sunday;

Just got done playing my first round with the demo (yea I know late to the party :p). I finished second on our team with 2102 points and was pleasantly surprised considering it was my first game. Can the tank driver not fire the turret and a machine gun?

If no one is in the turret than you can pop into it sure, and as far as the side mounted machine gun on the tank that is an "upgrade" you eventually get (or order the limited edition, I believe it comes with it)

If I buy the limited edition, I'll still be able to play against the folks with the standard edition, right?

Yes.

Oh I didn't know if you had to jump seats or if you could fire the turret and machine gun from the driver's position like in BF1943.

I think it's an extra weapon for the driver.

As a Medic, I approve of your story.

Bwahahahahha! Genius!!!

Gave this ago lastnight, was quite fun.

Although I don't know if its just me but I couldn't go prone, and quite often my screen would shake and the controller rumble even when nothing was going on near me. btw it ws the PS3 demo version.

I played the demo on my brother's PS3 and it was surprisingly fun. Lack of prone was a design decision by the developers. The screen shake/controller rumble should only happen if something is happening to you or near you, like a grenade going off or a tank shell landing near you.

Yeah I can understand that, if a shell or 'nade goes of near me, but I was sniping from a hill and was quite a bit away from where shells where landing. Well I never got any damage from them. It was fun anyway :p

What you guys talking about? I played the hell out of 1943 and maybe I just thought I was jumping seats and actually was not?? I just recall having to jump seats in BF2, but they could have changed it.

Honestly 95% of the time I prefer having an Engineer with me in the turret, that is the key to staying alive, a good Engineer with you.

Remember in BF1943 from the driver's position you could fire that little machine gun as well as firing the turret? There was also a second gunner's position where you could use the top machine gun.

You know what. I remember you could do that.. It was the alt fire key like pressing LMB would fire main turret, RMB would fire the machine gun on top

That is what I've been asking about all along. So what I'm hearing is that you can't do that in BF:BC2? You can only fire the turret if you are in the driver's seat and you can only fire the machine gun if you are in the gunner's seat?

Everything is dumbed down and retard compatible compared to BF1942/BF2

I think I am getting BC2, but only to keep me busy until BF3 arrives, whenever that will happen :s

We're talking about one of the limited edition unlocks for BC2. I haven't played BF 1943 so I don't know much about it. Anyway, here's what we were referring to:

Supreme Vehicle Firepower – Additional weapon packages are mounted for the driver of all armored vehicles, greatly expanding the range of targets the vehicle can successfully engage and destroy.

Since it says "for" the driver, I assume it's an alternate weapon for the tank driver (main gun + additional weapon).

Here's a screengrab of this YouTube video:

Notice the gun (with smoke) near the main tank gun. Also, notice the machine gun mounted on top (for a 2nd passenger).

Ahh okay, that clears things up, because yeah I knew about that already. I told mystic earlier in the thread...

I thought there was some way to get into the turret without popping out of the drivers seat, which made absolutely no sense at all to me which is why I asked what were you guys talking about.

    • This seems backwards. You should have to explicitly authorize files for outside use. It shouldn't be the default.
    • Wow you are right, I never even noticed this until you said it! (870E Aorus Master) Before testing this card I had a TP-Link tx401 10GbE PCIe card in that slot (now using XikeStor 310 Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter).
    • Lack of 5.1 makes this a no sale. What I really wish creative would make would be a USB version that supports 5.1 analog audio for speakers, can switch to headphone mode, and matches the specs of their top tier cards. The current X870E AMD motherboards dont have a great option for adding a PCIE x1 card without cutting down pcie lanes to the graphics card.
    • The Microsoft Office feature that time forgot by Usama Jawad I have been actively using Microsoft Word for the past couple of decades in academic, professional, and personal capacities. Although I used it through the perpetual version of Office apps at the start, I have been an active subscriber of Microsoft 365 Family subscription for over five years now. This means that my Word installation is regularly updated with new features, some of which I don't really like, but that's beside the point. As new features get continuously added, old ones that used to be a staple of Word have started to take a backseat. While I was reminiscing over my Windows experiences from my childhood today, I suddenly remember one such capability that I heavily used in my younger years but have not really touched in over a decade, and haven't seen in documents created by others either. That feature is WordArt. Just to clarify, WordArt is not a Microsoft product specific to Word, and is included in other Office apps like PowerPoint and Excel too. However, Microsoft Word is the app that I used Word Art in heavily, while making assignments or other deliverables for school. If you're unaware, WordArt offers a collection of styling techniques for text, introducing 3D effects like shadows and reflections in the text. It used to be one of the coolest things ever when I was at school and me and my classmates would often compete to ensure that our assignment's title in WordArt was truly the best and stood out above the rest. See some examples of WordArt, still present in the latest versions of Word below: Although WordArt is undeniably cool, it has taken a bit of a backseat, and has been relegated from the Home tab to the Insert toolbar, along with a bunch of other utilities, making it very easy to miss. This isn't exactly surprising because WordArt doesn't really have a place in academic and professional documents anymore, and while I have seen some creatives using it while developing promo material, even that sector has gravitated more towards dedicated graphic designing tools in the past years. For the vast majority of us, WordArt doesn't really exist, and that's alright. At least, it's still an option that can allow us to reminisce our childhood or even make some quick text stylization, if we really need it. Perhaps its usage has waned over time or the novelty has worn off, but I haven't even seen children use it in their academic assignments anymore. In fact, many don't even know that it exists. Maybe that's the fate of every beloved feature. What once felt cutting edge eventually becomes a relic, quietly tucked away as tastes, trends, and technology move on. WordArt may no longer dominate school assignments or decorate the covers of classroom projects, but for those of us who grew up with it, it remains a colorful reminder of a time when making text glow, bend, and cast giant shadows felt like the height of creativity. Hidden behind a few clicks in modern Word, it still survives not as a productivity tool, but as a small piece of computing nostalgia that refuses to disappear.
