+1, when it works it's awesome. the ps3 beta was great too... but right now, not soo much

 cry me a river big boy

Your the one crying a river every 5 minutes. Im just gonna take DL's advice before I get in trouble for your stupidity.

@DL: Yeah I uninstalled it via steam, and i ALWAYS check files whenever I uninstall something, this time I didnt because I was excited to play. Went back both in My Documents on 7 and Steamapps i saw BFBC2. Removed it and can play nicely.

@Everyone:

As far as joining servers, for now find a server close, type its name, comes up instantly. I love the queue how fast it comes up. Or another way is as mentioned the history way. I just do favorite(added about 14 servers already). Funny thing I was playing on a KillerCreation UK Server, pinging 95 HIGHEST, wow. For going overseas, a 125 ping or less is GREAT for gaming. But I got 95 NO lag, no one noticed lag, we all played and talked. The VOIP works well in this game, but I choose to use the TS3 server provided with most servers(thank god) or my own TS server. My TS server is always running on a box next to me, so I just have people connect anytime.

I've been a part of many Game, Beta, Mods / Add-on launches in my time and every single one with a lot of attention suffers from server issues but this is the first time where a game has dedicated servers hosted

by third party hosts around the globe and they are still failing - I mean, this is basic AUTHENTICATION how on gods green earth can you fail so miserably at that? And it's not even basic time-outs or slow response,

it's just a complete stonewall of not being able to connect, like the servers aren't even there and this has been going on for 3 days now.

They aren't even updating the Battlefield blog with some information, what we have is that stupid CNN line at the bottom "Bla bla servers issues kk cry moar we try fix naw k?".

Can't believe I was so naive to think this would be working just SOMEWHAT considering it bears the taint of EA.

and the best part is is that we can't return the game if we tried... at least i got FF next week, hopefully EA has it all fixed up by the time im done with that.

I couldn't connect to any servers so I manually updated PunkBuster. Worst idea, ever. Now I get CTDs at the server browser and when I managed to connect to one server, PunkBuster kicked me.

I see no point in refunding it, I want to play the game and I do want to support DICE because it's a fantastic game.

I'm just angry at the current situation, at least give us some proper information and keep us updated! 3 days of this crap and not a word.

yeah i agree, the worst part is lack of information. at least tell us what the exact problem is...

you played the game? on PC is nowhere using a MIC? i tried using mine, but i don't think anyone can hear me? bug maybe?

Yeah I posted about the mic issue the first day, but everyone said it was probably because on the PC people are using TeamSpeak or Ventrillo, but honestly I played BF2 and almost never used either of those and people talked on the mics just fine, so I am not sure what is up.

Is it just me, or is the graphics in the console version of the sp really, really bad? As opposed to the mp, where the graphics are really impressive?

Cannot say I agree there, I think they are definitely pretty decent in the SP on the console. I think they look better in MP simply because it is MP and they look good.

With that said they both look not so good compared to the PC. :p

Another thing, what is customization like in this? Can I create custom binds? Like "BACKSPACE" will toggle between FOV=90 and FOV=105. Or Shift + Del will self-kill/respawn me? Also, please tell me this game requires skill and not just blind luck along with spraying and praying!

We'll tell you when it's working

:D You do that - I will let you be my guinea pig :p

ET:QW wasnt that impressive of a game, I got it for free with my 8600 and couldnt get into the game play. I definitely recommend this game if you have played ANY BF2 games, if you havent, still pick this up. Its a good game and soon all the kinks will be ironed out.

ET:QW was a brilliant game. I played it daily for almost 2 years for around 3 hours each night. I made some great friends, had a proper laugh and some excellent games. Most importantly it was a game that required skill, and spray and prayers had no chance.

working fine for me and it's great

You from a ET:QW background Candy?

I Joined a server on the day of the release 3/2 and i heard people talking all were sayin "can you hear me" of course i was busy playing and my mic is broken

so i didn't answer them

Nope, oddly enough I never played the game.

You can play this game either way, but there's definitely a lot of skill needed to do decently. As I said in an earlier post, the first day I was just target practice for one particular sniper, it was a bit of a wake up call to get my butt in gear

I just played the first 2 levels (the flashback and snow blind). Snowblind definitely looks better but there were parts in the flashback that left much to be desired...maybe it was done on purpose? maybe as an homage?

And as far as snow blind and the beginning of the next level, there were anti-aliasing issues and bad texture decisions that I haven't seen on the console in a long time, and looking at the MP after that, those same things I complained about were not there.

Completely lucked out this morning and stayed in a server for about an hour and a half without getting kicked. The game is fantastic when it's working properly, and I completely lost track of time while playing. It increased my resolve to stick with the game despite these server issues, as it is really the most fun I've had in a PC game since CS:S.

I'm not getting the PB error anymore, or at least I didn't get it this morning while searching for a server, so I suppose that's progress. Although I did get kicked from one server for no apparent reason. It just said "You have been kicked from the game". I believe I've seen every kick message possible at this point :).

I've also learned not to use the crappy "Play Now" function (or whatever it's called when the game finds a server for you). They always threw me into games that had a very small amount of players (2-3 players on each team). I just ended up using the server browser and double-clicking on every well-populated server I found until one of them eventually let me in. Here's hoping they fix the server browser up eventually.

Well I definitely noticed Flashback really looked bad, no doubt about that.

Just played for an hour and 1/2 almost. Didnt know where time went. I love this game so much.

I plan on playing with all you as soon as everything is fixed, but for now, love this game. I actually felt like I was playing for 10 minutes. Always loved how BF games grabbed you and kept you in the game. Even 2142. I wasnt excited it was futuristic but I LOVED titan mode and the whole pod launch thing. The guns were cooling to, sniper to be specific.

I say gives us all a reason to finish the SP(which i wont do now that its working lol) and look forward to the mp that much more.

    • Microsoft confirms Windows 11 26H2 to finally get one of the most requested features by Sayan Sen This past week Microsoft officially confirmed Windows 11 version 26H2 with the latest build, 26300.8697, for testing in the experimental Insider channel. The company also published more details about it mainly directed towards IT admins and system admins. Essentially version 26H2 will be delivered via an enablement package (eKB) over Windows 11 25H2. If you are wondering about some of the upcoming features in the next Windows version, one of them is certainly very interesting as Microsoft has confirmed it is finally bringing one of the most overwhelmingly requested features ever. March Rogers, the Partner Director of Design at Microsoft, recently highlighted some of the Search improvements that the company is testing, and during the interaction with users on X where he posted it, Rogers also confirmed that the company is working on disabling web search results inside Search. This is something which many users find quite annoying as Windows would often serve them links to Bing which it feels could be more helpful rather than bringing up the actual object or app the user may be searching for on their PC. Finally though the company is prioritizing local file search over the web. However the feature could not be disabled for many users as not all new features are immediately rolled out to everyone. Image via phantomofearth (X) Windows enthusiast phantomofearth who likes to dig deep into new builds uncovered the IDs you will need to enable these features. Using the following feature IDs the new Search-related features landing in Windows 11 26H2 can be used. Follow the steps below to enable the new Search experience on Windows 11 build 26300.8697: Download ViveTool from GitHub and unpack the files in a convenient and easy-to-find folder. Press Win + X and select Terminal (Admin). Switch Windows Terminal to the Command Prompt profile with the Ctrl + Shift + 2 shortcut or by clicking the arrow-down button at the top of the window. Navigate to the folder containing the ViveTool files with the CD command. For example, if you have placed ViveTool in C:\Vive, type CD C:\Vive. Type vivetool /enable /id: and press Enter. Restart your computer. If you change your mind and want to restore, repeat the steps above and replace /enable with /disable in the commands on steps 5 and 6. Delightedly and perhaps also expectedly, once you disable web search and other such bloat, the Windows 11 Search is said to get snappier as remarked by another Windows enthusiast Xeno.
