Not a fan of this game it is way unbalanced, from the 10-15 minutes at a time

:p

It's fine, my self and two other friends (medic, engi, assault) managed to complete dominate a game of 16 vs 16 on Rush because we knew what we were doing. A lot of people are running about getting lost and learning maps. Even though the game has massive HUD icons pointing out where to go. :/

A lot of people aren't changing classes as they are required either. For example I'll swap from engi to assault if we need someone to lead a charge to punch through a weak flank to arm a crate. Most will happily stay as recon and just call in strikes like morons.

They should remove the K/D ratio bull**** on the scoreboard imo.

Been playing this since yesterday, the game is quite overrated I think, it tries to be Modern Warfare

Of all the BF2 vets I spoke to. They all think it feels like a streamlined modern BF2 (aka BF2 minus the dominating jets, diluted down classes etc). I think people are just trying to force these CoD comparisons now.

@Anaron I know the one you're thinking of, I just fire smoke grenades in to their faces and kill their frame rates. :p

Not a fan of this game it is way unbalanced, from the 10-15 minutes at a time i can play before being kicked for TCP Timeout it seems every map is always dominated by one team, i was on one map they had 3 spawns our team had 1 and it was in a spawn point that is funnelled through a little path between hills and they just sat there with the whole team and an APC and for the whole match no one could get away from spawn.

No spawn protection :o ?

They should remove the K/D ratio bull**** on the scoreboard imo.

Stats wreck any game. A lot people play purely for stats which is just plain sad.

See this is what I dislike, unlocking character buffs like this. Means a new player always gets slaughtered.

Still I might get this.

Agreed, persistant unlocks are no fun for newb players. You either start early, or you don't at all, otherwise like you say you will get slaughtered.

I am probably going to pick this up, a lot of my old fragmates (from ET:QW) are playing this now, and I haven't played any game online since ET:QW. I need some moar late Sunday night laughs :D

Is there uprated personal armour in this game? I just unloaded a full clip of the first assault rifle into someone from close range and they didn't die...kill cam showed they had 14% health left :/

It's rank 13 or 14, I forget which to unlock the body armor. I haven't really noticed it helps all that much, I die a lot with or without it.

I don't really play to get a high k/d ratio though, I got after objectives mostly. Random bit of info for everyone. And I really feel sorry for anyone who gets into conquest games with me because I've lost pretty much every single one I've been in.

Some people in a game yesterday were like "yeah, the game is fun, even when you're losing". When did it become okay to be a loser I had to ask. People being content with not improving or even trying makes me want to smash my face into a wall.

I'm exactly the opposite - This game gives you no 'rewards' for winning and no real penalties for losing. Nor does it provide you with any significant bonuses for going after objectives I couldn't

get by just shooting 2-3 people. I like it, I mean, it doesn't force you into any sort of gameplay style you don't like but there's definitely no incentive to help out with objectives. Last night, I was on top

in quite a few games and we won them all but I didn't get a single objective point, it was all from kills and whatnot.

So yes, this game is fun even when you're losing because it doesn't penalize you for it or give some massive reward to the winners.

Maybe if this was Planetside, not so much on BC2. You can always run over and nick someones M60. :)

You still get a sizeable amount of points for disarms (40?) and killing people who are near crates (30 a pop?). As well as the 100 point pins for 3 (maybe less?) kills next to an crate. While the game doesn't force you to complete objectives. It's like a stern parent standing over you sighing and tutting when you're not doing your job. :p

And you can get just as many Points-per minute by disregarding objectives completely - 50 Points a kill which is fairly easy in HC and when you actually focus on kills, 100 Points for shooting down a UAV

( They are always buzzing around ) 30 For a kill assist, 100 Point pins for several kill-assists etc. and there's so many players and so much chaos, no one can't check up on whether you're doing your 'part' or not.

And that is also the reason why I love the game, if I had to run around like some suicide dummy after blinking crates I'd spas out in a matter of minutes.

Yes, going for objectives and trying to win the game may be a lot more fun when you have a solid squad / clan but when you're a lone wolf like me,

going solo-commando is about a thousand times more fun.

Ah see that's where we differ, while you're disrupting reinforcements I'm on vent screaming "MAN DOWN", getting revived and hugging flashing lights! I enjoy just getting feet first in to the fray with the love bus or love boat. :D

I've unlocked heaps of weapons but I'm still only using the default or 1st unlock. It's up to your style of play, unlocks doesn't really give you a big advantage. Playing vanilla doesn't mean you can't get kills and rank up either, a bullet is a bullet... it's much better than the CoD style perks.

LATEST DRIVERS 196.75 WHICH WERE ENABLING SLI IN BFBC2 CAUSE MASSIVE OVERHEAT.

Looks like it's not just while playing BC2. Is the overheating occurring only in SLI configurations or with single cards as well? In any case I'm glad I didn't update my drivers yet. The game is running smooth for me anyways. I even turned HBAO on and it wasn't nearly as laggy as in the beta..but still turned it off because I honestly can't see that there is any difference with it on or off.

Hmm. Best watch my temps later. Luckily I've got enough cooling in my PC to knock down the ambient heat to 20 degrees! :|

Oh for the love of god, it was working fine last night and now we're back to square one ... Hate.

Looks like I won't be enjoying much of the game this weekend :(

Christ, are you sure you aren't really British? The amount of moaning and whining that comes out of your trap is unbelievable :D

    • Free Software Foundation Europe pushes EU to force Google to allow AI uninstalls on Android by Paul Hill Credit: Pexels Users should be able to fully uninstall AI-based features from Android devices and be able to access interoperability functions, free from Google’s verification requirements, the European Commission has heard as part of an Android interoperability consultation under the Digital Markets Act. These measures were proposed by the Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE) last week when it submitted its documentation. The FSFE noted that Google had started silently installing AI models without telling users. It noted that the EU’s DMA requires companies like Google to allow users to uninstall pre-loaded software from their devices, but in the case of the AI models Google is installing, they reinstall if you delete them, contravening the DMA. To get Google back under control, the FSFE has told the European Commission that there needs to be improvements within the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). First, it said that users should be able to fully remove pre-loaded AI components from their devices, with companies being prohibited from silently reinstalling or reactivating them. Second, access to Android interoperability features should not be contingent on registration, authorization, or contractual relationships with Google. This pertains to Google’s attempt to force developers to register with Google, even to publish apps to alternative app stores like F-Droid. Discussing its submission, Lucas Lasota, FSFE Legal Programme Manager, said: Google is planning to roll out its Android Developer Certification in September 2026. This will force every Android app developer to register with Google before their software can be installed on certified Android devices, but it should affect those who have removed Google Apps from their device. The program is controversial because it entails the signing of contracts and payment of account fees to Google, as well as the handing over of the identities of developers. It said: The FSFE said that if the Commission’s draft measures remain unchanged, then Google will be allowed to make developers verify their identity. The FSFE believes that asking developers to register is contrary to the text and spirit of the law. In summary, the FSFE has told the Commission that no developer should need a Google account, a Play Store presence, or any agreement with Google to access Android’s interoperability features.
