I love this game, but I can't stand all the problems! :p First it was the unable to connect problem, now the whole ea login system is down! When this game works it is godly, but right now...

btw: PC currently has more people playing and are in game servers than both the consoles.

Does that mean both consoles combined?!

Well, hopefully the R5 files will be up ASAP, I want to play a few rounds before I hit the sack.

I also had to turn off Bloom even though I said to myself I'd try and adjust to it. I was playing this desert map in Conquest, everything was completely white most of the time.

I was in a tank and couldn't see a thing, I jumped into the 50 Cal in an attempt to shoot down a helicopter and the sky was completely white, all I could do is follow the smoke trail

through the blinding white light yet to no avail.

Yes when i read it i took it as meaning combined

Isn't that considered "strategy?"

I mean when they're on the other side of the map doing nothing.

And it aggravates me even more when they're sniping on the base that has already been taken over by our team so they're not shooting and they can't get it into their head that we've moved.

Gotta say this is probs the most buggy game iv played in a while (even more so than mw2) overlapping text, not actually ending the game process when i quit (at one point i had 5 bc2 processes open :s) ping not showing up unless run as admin, middle mouse only workin in single player, and 7 not always switching to basic automatically some times (though probs a driver problem)

But sayin that, i love it :D one of the best multiplayer fps's out there. I find it much harder than cod, with cod my kd is normall 2:1 but with this im struggling to keep 1:1, kinda makes cod kids play lol and i love using the chopper (though first time i used it i flipped it upside down.....epic fail lol)

Im sure the server problems will be gone within a few days

Got this today, but was out the whole day. Played one game fine, then half way through the second game I got signed out. Ever since I have been unable to connect to the EA servers. :(

On the plus side, I convinced 2 friends to get it, and although at first they were negative, they very much enjoy it now.

I hear you. Lone wolf snipers are Bad Company 2's "campers."

"I don't know how to play this game, but the maps are huge. Maybe if I just sit back here I can raise my kill count by sniping."

What's worse is if half of a team uses this mentality. Turns into very boring games

****in bull****! Its impossible to join ANY ****ing server at all. Jeez, even in MW2 it takes way less time to find a good working game. Currently one ****ing huge fail.

In my list of botched online launches it falls only short of Age of Conan.

welcome to the conversation...

@chemaz - the overlapping text is pretty annoying. kill_death ration is overlapping Ping for me..

@mr_candyman - i added you buddy, need soem more canadians on my friends list... And same with me, getting to the game is the hard part, once in, everything is dandy!

@sethos - no carbine i know, but the m416 is a decent gun too. i dont like the m1, you can just spray (well in CoD anyways and every other game i have played, don't know if you can with this one...)

@singh - you pick up the game yet? need an upna on the friends list... blast these panchodes outta into the dirt.

I have it now and I'm surprised how much I don't suck in Conquest :p got ~1500 points in my second game with a 3.61 K/D ratio which is rather epic for me^^

I'm still uneasy with the whole feeling the game has but I'm sure I'll get over it. Most epic moment for me so far was "Hmm lets hide in this house and.... WTF the roof is gone  )

Maybe we will see each other sometimes on the battlefield :shiftyninja:

Is there anything like a Neowin player list here?

Bug wise I hadn't that much annoying things: The scoreboard has weired dev mode like labels, loading times are not that fast (ATI HD4850) and the server browser is catastrophalistic.... :pinch:

Performance wise it runs smooth as silk on FullHD with rig at all times so yay^^

apparently people with ATI cards are having issues loading the games, sounds like a driver issue. Better then the latest nvidia driver though which apparently killed the fan control on some cards and fried them... luckily i replaced my fan on my 8800gt with a giant artic cooling accelero

theres the player list too

My display driver (Catalyst 10.2) crashed 3 times since I started playing the retail version. I'd be playing and it would lock up forcing me to power down my computer. I've never had this happen, even with my HD 2900 XT back in '07.

@rajputwarrior: I accepted your friend request. :p

English translation (from Google)

"Hello, This message is to inform you that EA currently operates maintenance on their master server, which should help overcome the bugs experienced by many. This maintenance is already underway and to help accelerate the process EA asked all providers to close a total of 40 000 slots.

We will close our public servers but if you want to lend a hand to their technicians working day and night since the game's release, we ask you to consider the option of stopping your server the game panel, and this up at the end of this maintenance *.

Note that this is not an obligation but rather a boost that can voluntarily choose to give them. We all hope that this will end the problems of crashes BFBC2.

* End of maintenance: 3am America / 9h am / France "

thanks buddy, i look forward to owning you :)

Good Find (Y). I hope EA gets there ****ing ACT together. You can see DICE is trying there best. Released R4 server(s) yesterday or 2 days ago, and now R5 PLUS EA front end boxes. Thank god, ****ing EA.

Im gonna take a break, let them do there thing and play COD4. If you play it let me know. If you got xfire add me sikhism. This also goes for anyone else who has BF2/COD4/etc

On a related note to the Bloom: I don't have a problem with bloom, but I do with the blowing snow/sand. It makes it very hard to accurately shoot when you're a sniper. Anybody know of a way to turn it off?

i haven't decided which one i like more, conquest or rush. they both have their advantages and disadvantages though. Major beef with rush is that when you are attacking half the team (mostly nubs im presuming) just sit back and snipe when they should pushing foward... SOOOO annoying.

I agree, sniping is useful when defending but not as useful when attacking, I'm not saying its a complete waste of time whilst attacking on rush however.

Conquest needs ticket "bleed" changes in my opinion, holding the flags doesn't really do a whole lot the ticket bleed is so low and goes down with kills instead of the old school way.
