The PB problem was actually that the master servers were updated to the newer PB version but everyone who runs a server had to update and reboot their server. People kept getting kicked because of a PB version mismatch. As soon as servers are rebooted the PB disconnect issue will go away.

I don't think that's it. I went to the same server that kicked me with the pb timeout after updating mine. It was probably 5 minutes between tries, and the second time worked perfectly. I kind of doubt they reset and got all the players back in that time

Yeah, I was prompted for the CD-key as well, I didn't even give it second thoughts, it was just "Oh, more problems" and I quit the game.

Yeah, I figured it was server problems again so I quit as well. I hope in the next couple of weeks they do something to fix these issues. :(

Servers went down again ... when I login now it says I am rank 1 and that I need to enter my CD Key again.

WOW. I mean, the times I can play are awesome. But this random disconnection issue/servers going down has to stop.

Same here. I was playing for a good fourty minutes before I got kicked, and now it won't let me log back in. When I tried, sometimes it would give me the "can't connect" message, and sometimes it would ask me to enter my CD Key.

Shame, I was actually in a really good squad. Four people all helping each other in a public server. Can't say I've seen that a whole lot outside of TF2.

And how does it work, maybe it is server issues right now, but I have Veteran Status 1, but does it just update automagically in BFBC2? or you have to do something wonderful?

It should be available to you as soon as you become a level 1 veteran.

The M1 rifle isn't available on every map?

From my understanding, it depends on the server.

I haven't seen the M1 available since Wednesday. I have Veteran status of 4 and the first day had it just fine, all my friends have the same thing. Was available at the start, but has not been available since about Wednesday or so

As far as Sethos comment on the worse game launch in history. America's Army 3 is the absolute worse launch ever. immediately after launch they fired the main dev team. The game was rushed to be released by The Army before it was finished (thats why the devs were fired. they didn't want it released till they got the major bugs fixed The bugs were too many to list. 6 months later some of these bugs still exist. even after the 3.0.7 patch. these problems we are experiencing are minuscule compared to the AA3 launch

Notice how I said in my gaming history, it wasn't an argument I made on behalf of everyone and every game.

Wasnt AA free?

Yes, paid for by the American tax payers.

ok how the hell do u turn off bloom, its really annoying me now, half the time i can see nothing but white and im forced to aim at red triangles/heli/tank symbols lol

Documents Folder > BFBC2 > Settings.ini > Set Bloom from "True" to "False".

There you can also adjust your Field of View ( FOV )

      Web search has been one of those crap ware that I try to get rid of asap. It's annoying and slow. It was a cheap way for Microsoft to drive traffic to Bing.

      All I can say is that think the USB G8 is better in many ways, and costs the same or slightly less. I wouldn't part with mine. It's even a big improvement over the G6 USB. (You can also use studio phones (up to 600 OHMs I think) with the G8, but I have to say that even relatively cheap 30-50 OHM phones sound absolutely great--far better than through most internal motherboard sound!)       I missed this when you first posted it, but those are awesome icons! I would normally prefer things to be uniform, but each of those icons seems to fit perfectly for the game! If I may ask though, what was your thought process on which icons are circular - MK makes sense - and which ones should be rectangular or square?

      What I like about Paint is using it almost exclusively for cropping and resizing images I get elsewhere--it's quick, easy and cheap... I keep it glued to my taskbar, in fact. Also, the clipping tool comes in handy, as well (hit print scrn on the keyboard and it activates immediately.)

      I still remember it fondly today. It was so cool to work in 64-color Half Bright mode and 4.096-color HAM mode (interlaced) when x86 was still in 4-color CGA or 16-color EGA low res. C= never realized what it had until it was far too late--the failure of C= was the failure of its top management. The C= Amiga was 20 years ahead of its time, I always thought. It didn't hurt that in only 512k of chip memory, the Amiga could preemptively multitask when Apple was still doing gray scale graphics on tiny screens and along with everyone else was doing cooperative multitasking (running more than one app at a time in resident memory, but you could only run one of them at a time--had to manually switch between them.) I had a ball with AREXX scripting running between programs that had AREXX ports so that when you sent other applications data and instructions, those running applications could process the same in real time to output! Memories...
