"Failed to connect to EA online" seems to be a common message for me at the moment.

Documents Folder > BFBC2 > Settings.ini > Set Bloom from "True" to "False".

There you can also adjust your Field of View ( FOV )

Update:

After optimizations and restarts yesterday, we had been stable across all platforms. Unfortunately, we encountered another outage at approximately 9:30 AM PST today.

- X360 was severely impacted, and the service is being restarted. It should be back online and we are monitoring closely.

- PC had an outage, but the service is offline currently and the service is being restarted. It should be back online and we are monitoring closely. We will then start checking the quality of the customer experience to determine possible next steps.

- PS3 appeared to have a brief outage, but has quickly recovered and the services is functioning properly at this time.

All teams are actively engaged in diagnosis and remediation. We are adding additional services to alleviate load. Despite having a major infrastructure in place, the peak traffic this weekend has been huge, 400% higher than any other Battlefield's peak simultaneous users. The teams will continue to monitor the services closely. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and will provide further updates on the latest developments as they are relevant.

Well I thought I would try again, and had 3 good games, no lag, and game finished without Disconnect, so ranked up, but I need some sleep.

Hopefully within a day or 2 it will get back to how it should be.

I guess this could have been predicted considering this is the first BF game for the PC in 4 years, plus the super success of 1943 on the consoles

Well they better get it fixed by tomorrow because I have 3 nights off work. But this is beyond annoying at this point. What sucks is in the 360 version, it searches for matches but you can't back out or cancel. Have to go straight to dashboard. So then I have to restart the game and try again - yeah, no thanks.

I'm contemplating picking up MW2 just to get my war kicks

Yeah it does, you would of thought that they would of had pre-order numbers through from publisher / sales channel. Still clicking your fingers and having the servers delivered and installed and configured is no easy task. Considering that when the login servers are not falling down the game is working great I can't wait for the next few weeks when all these little problems get ironed out.

i just played for a bit, bring up the server list still takes a while and it was a little laggy but it wasn't too bad. i'll play again tonight after the habs game is over. that 400% stat is pretty crazy, that many people are playing it... and who says PC gaming is dieing???

Just finished the single player mode on PC... and my thought was: "WTF!!!!!111" :blink: :blink:

Gotta play it online when servers will be up again. :D
