My only complaint with BC2 is the lack of conquest maps, I feel like I am playing the same 5 or 6 maps over and over again, otherwise the game owns.

Yeah I am starting to notice the same thing as well since I mainly only play Conquest

the more i play this game, the more i like conquest over rush...

Yeah I have said it already, but for me it is not even a question, as Conquest is the classic mode from BF2 (and all Battlefields for that matter) that I always played.

The only thing is in BF2 there were usually upwards of 5 areas to maintain, so it made it a bit more dynamic TBH, but still my favorite mode by far. Also the thing with Conquest is it just goes to the end, and having unbalanced teams is not as obvious when it is with Rush. Do not get me wrong, there can be unbalanced teams on Conquest as well, but it is not as dominant IMO. With Rush if you have one team that is just way to strong, usually the defenders for whatever reason, it is a match that only happens on the first A & B points and never progresses. With Conquest the whole map is open from the beginning, and that, at least to me, makes it a bit more fun overall. I do not hate Rush, just much prefer Conquest for the reasons stated above.

I've just got the first Bad Company off a friend to unlock a gun in Bad Company 2 and he told me that all I needed to do is play 1 online game in it and in BFBC2 I'd get a new gun- however this hasn't happened, anyone know why?

You need to register the Gamertag/PSN ID you used to play at veteran.battlefield.com and it has to be linked to your EA ID. You can link it by going to EA.com and adding your Gamertag/PSN ID as a "persona". If it's already linked with an EA Classic screen name, you'll need to add that instead.

If you are looking for the M1 garand though, don't worry about it since its broken and will not show up.

It's a hit or miss for me. I can use it on some servers, and I can't on others. Lately though, I haven't been able to use it on all the servers I played on. Some people are able to use the 12G shotgun though. That's another veteran-only weapon.

EDIT: I just gained veteran status with BF2142. I went on EA's support page and started a live chat session. It was added in a matter of minutes. Gotta love EA support. I've dealt with them in the past and I am very satisfied.

Hey to everyone that is using these BFBC2 sigs, are you having any issues with yours as well?

I have a strange issue, basically the first design I used for the top one (PC) was not updating itself. Even of their site when I type in my name, all of the other designs would update, but not the original one I picked with the tank (I thought it was fitting since I am afterall a tank-ho LOL). Even when I go back, that one design still is stuck on like 2-3 days ago?

So are you guys also having to swap out designs? Just find it a bit odd is all. I have no problem manually changing designs now and then, in fact I am thinking I am probably going to create my own design real soon, but just seems odd.

And to chime on about the M1, same deal as Anaron, some servers it is there, some it is not, which leads me to believe it is a server side setting.

As much as I rage at this game some times. I still can't fault the game mechanics (other than the dodgy EA servers). It's annoying. I need something to blame for my **** weak aim today. :p

This game has the same effect on me :laugh: Sometimes I just get so angry at it and I have to remind myself that its just a damn game. Some deaths just feel so cheap - but when you look at it again, you got killed by a pretty legit method, and it was entirely your fault. :(

I wasn't half raging at EA servers today, "Cannot connect, cannot connect, cannot connect... login, select soldier, updating stats, Cannot connect" rinse and repeat for about 20 minutes, was not best impressed. After that I had some **** poor matches so I am blaming EA for my bad form today.

I had the same problem. Site says it updates every 24 hours, but honestly I think its just because the EA servers have been so unstable lately, that stats weren't being able to be pulled correctly. I created my own today and it shows up fine. I am about to go play a few rounds and see if my stats change on my sig correctly

Does anyone have any idea how I can change my uh...activation check thing? I did the one where it checks for the dvd each time I start the game and I'm really starting to wish I hadn't. Hopefully it's possible to change it without reinstalling the game.

I don't think retail can be added to your Steam account in the way that you can download it from steam etc. You can use the overlay though, but clicking "add non-steam game" and selecting the game's executable.

It won't really be a steam game unless you bought it through Steam, it will just add a shortcut to it on your games list. When you install it you're given a choice if you want to have a dvd check type activation every time you start the game or an online check. Is that what you mean?

No benefit at all. You can add it as a non-Steam game though. Also, you can't activate it on Steam since it isn't on the retail key list.

Nice that sounds cool. If you don't mind sharing the files I'd appreciate it. Naturally I will change it up etc I just need to see how it's done. I'm assuming it's XML based but I've just never done it. I have a server etc. If you don't mind you know my email address.

And does make sense it would be ea servers messing it up was just weird how it was only the one image though that wasn't updating.

      Microsoft confirms Windows 11 26H2 to finally get one of the most requested features by Sayan Sen This past week Microsoft officially confirmed Windows 11 version 26H2 with the latest build, 26300.8697, for testing in the experimental Insider channel. The company also published more details about it mainly directed towards IT admins and system admins. Essentially version 26H2 will be delivered via an enablement package (eKB) over Windows 11 25H2. If you are wondering about some of the upcoming features in the next Windows version, one of them is certainly very interesting as Microsoft has confirmed it is finally bringing one of the most overwhelmingly requested features ever. March Rogers, the Partner Director of Design at Microsoft, recently highlighted some of the Search improvements that the company is testing, and during the interaction with users on X where he posted it, Rogers also confirmed that the company is working on disabling web search results inside Search. This is something which many users find quite annoying as Windows would often serve them links to Bing which it feels could be more helpful rather than bringing up the actual object or app the user may be searching for on their PC. Finally though the company is prioritizing local file search over the web. However the feature could not be disabled for many users as not all new features are immediately rolled out to everyone.
