I have friends with it on the PS3 in real life, I was just asking a question in this topic to see if any Neowin members owned the game on the PS3. Sorry I haven't read all 282 pages to see what Neowin has been doing.

Honestly, what on earth is wrong with asking that?

Dude, I was joking. It was my response for the guy saying something about people on this forum having XYZ version.

A nice read regarding the development of the patch - http://forums.electr...-packaging.html

All I got out of that is that they don't have enough people to do the work that needs to be done to fix the game in a decent amount of time. EA is to blame for that, I guess. And no new maps until that Vietnam expansion.

It would be interesting if that happened, to say the least. I think part of the problem though is that the pc version and console versions are using different balance changes and have completely different game play bugs. I'm not sure how they would mesh together.

Anyone else on Neowin actually own this on the PS3?

I could do with some help being a complete noob....

You can add me as well man. I haven't played in a bit (still lvl 31).

I haven't gotten the Onslaught pack yet.

I finally got done with Bioshock2 today and pretty much done with RDR so.. I should be back to bc2.

So it's 7am gmt, which means Tuesday night for those of us in the US?

Wednesday morning (at 1am EST). :)

According to this, most of the servers should be back up by 5am EST on Wednesday.

According to this tweet, the server update is underway.

EDIT: Steam version is updating.

http://store.steampowered.com/news/4006/

EDIT 2: The game has returned to its former glory. This patch is just awesome! Things are back to normal, the new chat system is great, and performance seems to have been improved. The only downside is the key bindings which were reset.

Downloading the patch now.. I finally believe it's actually coming out. I'm going to be so rusty.

Maybe it's just the fact that everyone in the world is downloading the patch...but damn the first game I tried was so laggy. Hit registration seemed to be good though.

I didn't have any lag. I thought the registration was pretty good too. I only played two games, but so far so good.

The chat is much better. I don't know what they were thinking before.

I tried a different server and there wasn't any lag. So I guess it was just the first one I tried. Anyways, not to keen on the new chat window, I thought we would be able to reposition and resize it as we wanted. The patch seems pretty decent right now. And I'm already getting killed by CG's left right and center... I didn't miss that for a second.

You mean I'm not allowed to buy a game for a platform of my choice then ask for people to play with?!

Oh my, I better retire from the internet.

Sure buy it for whatever platform, but don't complain to us when it isn't popular on that platform :p
Frankly, I don't care any more. All I want is the patch.

ZOMG you mean it's actually here?! Only just got into work, this is going to be a LONG LONG day for me. Damn it, haven't played for a couple of weeks now. Can't wait to get back in the game.

Not to keen on the new chat either. Mainly because sometimes there's a slightly visible blue window that goes all the way to the bottom from the chat (on the top).

And also because now it's on the top. Hard to read during the game when you're playing on 1920x1080.

Yeah, same, I play at 1920x1080 as well, and it's in the upper left corner and even partially cut off.

Something else that I've noticed since the patch... the game takes drastically longer to load now than it did before. Before the patch it took me around 20 seconds or so to get into a map. Now it's 1+ minutes. Don't know if it's just me or what. I have my directx version set to 10 so it's not that problem.

I'm playing on the same resolution and it was awful before. I don't know how you liked it. After a few announcements and random talk from people, it was very difficult to see with the text in the way.

You bet. The Steam patch comes in at a whopping 976.3 MB.

I was real happy to see that Steam downloaded this overnight!

I thought the DX11 bug was back, I do feel a little better knowing that it happens on DX10 as well.

I play at 1680x1050 and think this looks good so far. Maybe someone will find a setting in the ini (nothing jumped out at me) to reduce the amount of time it stays or increase transperancy.

    • Zed 1.7.2 has landed with updated OpenCode models, bug fixes and other improvements by David Uzondu Zed 1.7.2 recently landed on the stable release channel, bringing a host of AI-related features including automatic context compaction and settings-based skill management, along with other things like better Markdown preview rendering and custom git commands in the graph view. Starting with the AI stuff, the developers introduced "/compact", a command that basically summarizes your conversation history on demand. This tool prevents your active chat window from hitting token limits by compressing older parts of the dialogue into a brief overview. In addition to that, the team relocated skill management to the settings UI, improving how the application communicates errors regarding those skills, and updated the OpenCode model roster to support DeepSeek V4 Flash, MiniMax M3, Qwen 3.7 Plus, and Nemotron 3 Ultra Free. External agent users can also monitor context window cost metrics and delete individual sessions directly from their history. Right-clicking ref labels in the git graph now opens a context menu that runs different actions against selected targets, kind of how VS Code does it. Here are some of the bug fixes this new release brings: The active agent fails to auto-select when creating a new git worktree. A scrollbar unexpectedly appears on wrapped code blocks in the agent chat. Collapse indicators for project headers appear when performing sidebar searches. Bracketed ellipsis title prefixes fail to show the ellipsis icon properly. Project icons render incorrectly in the recent projects picker. Diff hunk controls appear inside non-editable commit view multibuffers. The software update button hangs indefinitely on the downloading stage. Restoring an agent terminal in a remote project triggers a sudden crash. Splitting a pane that contains an active commit view causes a crash. Linux Wayland freezes when trying to read the clipboard from laggy external apps. Zed is a "newish" code editor trying to break the massive stronghold VS Code has on the developer community. Funny enough, the editor was created by former GitHub employees who worked on the Atom text editor (which Microsoft killed in 2022, several years after it bought GitHub). The project officially hit version 1.0 back in April, introducing platform parity for Windows and Linux alongside deep support for DeepSeek-V4-Pro.
    • 26H2 absolutely will support ARM Windows just not on devices that came with 26H1. This is evident by the fact I am running 26H2, which on my MacBook Neo and Surface Pro 12 (inch), within a VM.

    • The FIFA World Cup is not US centric.
    • It’s amusing how Microsoft is pushing IT admins as if this was a major, game-changing update. In reality, it’s just an enablement package that bumps the build number, which is disappointing compared to the more substantial 22H2 and 24H2 releases. Technically, 25H2, 26H1, and the upcoming 26H2 are essentially the same, differing only in support schedules. They could have included the Windows K2 improvements here, but chose not to. The era of Windows being in the backburner continues, and this 26H2 release feels like an afterthought. Shame, Nadella, shame.
